Will uninstalling Mavericks and reverting back to Lion restore iMovie to 9.0.0?
I’m someone who regularly uses iMovie to edit videos for YouTube, and given that my iMovie 9.0.4 recently decided to go bonkers beyond repair, I can no longer use it, for it’s no longer on my Mac.
In short, iMovie 10 is an utter disgrace, and I want iMovie 9 back. Now, in order for me to get iMovie 9 back, will uninstalling Mavericks and reverting back to Lion (a better OS in my opinion anyway) return iMovie to its former glory? My Mac didn’t come with a disc, so how would this work?
Thanks for any help can may be provided! You should still have iMovie9 in a folder after Mavericks upgrade. It did not delete it. Check your applications.

I upgraded from snow leopard to mavericks only to find that my backup files of all my CS3 indesign, illustrator, photoshop wo't run, how do I uninstall mavericks and get my old system back. I retired from graphics a few years back but still have old clients I do work for and maintain files for. Would not have upgraded if I had known of the incompatability.
You did not due any due dilligence to investigate if your legacy apps would run, you should upgrade your apps. However if you feel you have to downgrade back to SL then click

How do I uninstall Mavericks and go back to snow leopard?
I recently installed Mavericks os x and HATE it. Slows down my computer. How do I go back to snow leopard?
Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer. Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the "C" key. Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.) Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
install of OS X. You can now begin the update process by opening Software
Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1. Restore your files from your backup. -
I have a brand new iMac. It was working fine until I downloaded Mavericks. Now I have web pages that freeze while trying to load. The blue in the address bar stalls and freezes. If I try to load from page 1 to a later page, or reverse that, I also have the same problem. I tried to connect my printer for the first time, and again, the blue progress bar froze. Then I got the yellow triangle telling me there was a connection problem. My internet connection is via an Air Card as that is my only option where I live. I packed up the whole new iMac and took it to my Air Card provider, where they also have very fast Wifi, and they had the same problem with Wifi. I use my Air Card with my MacBook and it works JUST GREAT! I really want to return to Lion. HELP.
The only way to retutn to Lion is to format your drive (erase, lose all) and either:
1. clone back the clone copy i hoep you have, or
2. first backup your files, then format and install Lion again
But really, mavericks works great. You have a problem. Find out why. First, what unusual software do oyu have installed that may be conflicting with it? Virus, system modifiers, etc? Second what OLD software do you have that might be the problem. finally, you might need to do a re-install if something errored during install.

How do I uninstall Mavericks and go back to Mountain Lion
Any ideas?
Can't find it on App Store anymore.Since I upgraded to Mavericks, the computer seems to be running slower. Slower in sending emails - they land in the outbox for a few seconds at least. Much slower in loading internet pages. The worst part is that I type up podcasts for various reasons and with Mavericks, itunes clips about two, sometimes three seconds off when I use the pause/play button. IOWs it advances and I miss words. I've tried redownloading itunes and it still clips seconds.
the other thing I don't care for in Mavericks, but I suppose I could get used it, is that in Pages, the inspector is now "permanent" - you can't move it around. That limits the amount of page space on the display because it's taken up with the inspector so when I'm typing a landscape oriented paper, I have to constantly scroll. With the Inspector on top and movable, I could just move it to where it was out of the way but still have it accessible. Now I can't. I should have waited to upgrade until I heard more about it. Every update I've done in the year since I've switched to using Apple, I have loved. Not so, this time I'm afraid.
Thanks again for your help. Sorry for the long answer! -
I can open Firefox on startup, but once I get off of it I can't get back on until I shut down and restart. If I get on mail first, I can't get on Firefox. I can't open some attachments in the emails either unless I open the mail while Firefox is still open. And I keep getting an error message about "having to close unexpectedly" with "restore" or "open new session" options. It acts like something is still open somewhere and the computer can't open anything else.
Also, when I go from one email to the next, the previous message doesn't automaticall y close like it used to. Also, the little green bar that usually indicates some action is solid and stationary when I can't get on to Firefox.

how do I uninstall OS X Mavericks and revert back to OS mountain lion?
You can't uninstall an OS X version. You would have to erase the drive and reinstall a prior OS version. That's why you should never upgrade without having a backup.
However, just about any router in the world should work with Mavericks, without the need of any DVD supplied software. -
I have a laptop (2010) with Lion OS and tried to install Mavericks and part way through the installation it quit and reverted back to Lion and the app store doesn't let me download Mavericks again. How can I resolve this?
Is your data backed up?
Are you running any non-Apple system optimization tools? -

How do I Uninstall Maverick on my Macbook, I miss my old system?
Rhperry wrote:
This is infuriating. I replied yes to an inocuous request if I wanted to upgrade to Mavericks OSX on my MacBook Pro. I said yes and now MS Word 2011 gets stuck in start up.
MS Word 2011 is compatible with Mavericks. This isn't an issue of either Mavericks or MS Word being bad or buggy software. Something is wrong with your system, and there's no way to identify what that might be based on such sparse information. Could be some other bad third-party software, could be a corrupt system, could be a corrupt Word install, could be the initial stages of some kind of hardware failure. Could be something else entirely.
If you need help, you'll want to start your own topic and clearly explain the problem. Avoid the negativity and blaming Mavericks for no good reason, as you have already seen a sample of how those kinds of posts are typically received here. -
