How do I update an CS3 ENCORE timeline from CS3 PP

I have completed CS3 ENCORE project with menues and links and generate a test DVD. Test DVD shows CS3 PPro edits are required.    2008 thread on same subject said to select ASSET 1 (timeline) from ENCORE Project panel, select file and REPLACE ASSET. REPLACE ASSET is grayed out for me.   I imported the original video asset directly from PPro into ENCORE to start the ENCORE project.   ADOBE Dynamic Linking has AFTER-EFFECT (grayed out) as the only possible selections so I don't know if Dynamic Linking is effective or working.
Goal is to update the video asset in PPro which is a ENCORE timeline without loosing the ENCORE markers from PPro.
How should I output an updated sequence from CS3 PPRO and How should I REPLACE or pick up the updated asset in ENCORE? How do I replace the ENCORE timeline with the new asset once I get it into ENCORE?
Sorry that this is a repeat of a discussion 2 weeks ago.   I thought I could get away without PPro edit for a new DVD. I was wrong.
In ENCORE the video file is a .M2V MPEG and the separate audio file is WAVE I have REPLACE ASSET capability on the MPEG file but what about the WAVE file. Should both files be exported from PPro?   Do both files require REPLACE ASSET?

You may be correct. The BUILD DVD failed during write due to invalid mpeg file.   I thought by renaming SUMMERTIME2.m2v to SUMMERTIME.m2v I could fool .xmp file about that link. There may be some time stamp or data size info in .xmp. I really don't know what .xmp file contains or what it does.
I don't know what .xmpses file does.
Anyone know the prupose or function of .xmp and /xmpses files?
Now I have two options.
1. COPY/RENAME SUMMERTIME2.xmp to SUMMERTIME.xmp along with rename SUMMERTIME2.m2v and try to fool ENCORE again. At this point I would have to remane the SUMMERTIME2.wave to SUMMERTIME.wave also as there must be the same problem with wave and m2v. There is a 3rd ENCORE project asset call SUMMERTIME type=timeline which I don't know it's function or links,
or
2. Load SUMMERTIME2 m2v and wave as an assest to ENCORE and replace timeline for SUMMERTIME with SUMMERTIME2. I would then HOPE the markers/links are not lost as the markers are the same between the 2 m2v files.
Does anyone have CS3 ENCORE experience replacing timeline m2v assets with marks?
Anyone have comment on my 2 approaches and the success of either?
UPDATE:
Well I answered my own question. OPTION1 does not work.   BUILD DVD transcodes audio and began building dvd files, then declares "File not valid mpeg".
This makes me think my output from PPro is not a valid MPEG file. The m2v data size is very close to original m2v and audio file size is identical to original. I am really stuck now.
OPTION 2 may not be any better if mpeg is not valid.   How do I validate or prove an m2v file is good for ENCORE outside of ENCORE?

Steps to put itunes (50 gb) on external drive and delete from imac. How would I update my ipods and ipad from the external drive if I do this

I am planning to put itunes library on external hard drive. My Imac is running out of room and itunes is 50+ gb of music.
What steps do I take to do this. Also, if I do so, how do I update my ipods and my ipad 2. I do back up my files with time machine. This would be a completely separate new external hard drive. Thanks in advance for any help.

Two ways:
1. After transferring to the external drive create an alias to the iTunes Music folder on the external drive. Copy the alias into your Home folder. Rename the alias to "iTunes Music." Delete the alias from the external drive.
2. In the iTunes preferences click on the Advanced icon in the toolbar. You should see a field labeled, "iTunes Media Folder Location." Click on the Change button and select the /iTunes Music/ folder on the external drive.

Change encore timeline from premiere pro cs5 via dynamic link?

I'm sure this has been covered before, but I can't find
anything on dynamic link in this forum.
I created my video in encore, and exported the sequence to encore via dynamic link.
I then created all my menus etc. in Encore, after which I noticed a couple of glitches I wanted to change, so I went back to premiere and edited the changes.
How do I get encore to pick up on these changes? It didn't happen automatically as I had hoped, and I don't want to have to recreate my menu structure again in Encore.
So, basically, how do I make a change in Premiere, and have it reflected in my Encore project without creating a new project?

I have a similar problem:
I created a project in PremPro CS5, then used Adobe Dynamic Link which loaded into Encore
where I created menus then saved off both PremPro and Encore.
Today I opened each to make add some titles in PremPro, however, Dyn Link did not send them to Encore
as I assumed it would. How do I get link to do what I have been lead to believe it will do, that is, carry
over changes from PremPro to Encore?
(I tried "Revert to Original" botton suggestion but Encore does not give me this option.
Seems like a strange suggestion since I want to update not revert.)
Details would be helpful.

Backing up saves your settings and other stuff on core apps but it doesnt save your appdata(that's is the main thing i am looking for) so it wont restore that when i restore it from the backup i create and this article too says it http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4972 so i would like too know how do i keep my data stored in apps from the appstore if there is any way to keep the data. I have been using cs3 for years. what do I do? cant find my old packaging so i can't find my old serial number.

How do I update Flash Player ActiveX & Plugin from an internal server at once?

At work we're using both, Flash Player ActiveX and Plugin, because of the use of different Browsers. We have set up a Background Update from our internal server.
By updating via "FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe", only the ActiveX Extension gets updated and the Plugin doesn't.
But if I do it in that order: Install ActiveX → Update → Install Plugin → Update, both Extensions get updated.
Here's the mms.cfg:

SilentAutoUpdateEnable=1
SilentAutoUpdateServerDomain=[our server]

The only way you can upgrade Safari is to upgrade your operating system. The current version of Safari is 8.0.4 which requires Yosemite. If you want to consider upgrading, check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion/Mavericks/Yosemite.

Do a backup before installing.
One option is to create a new partition (~30- 50 GB), install the new OS, and ‘test drive’ it. If you like/don’t like it it, you can then remove the partition. Do a backup before you do anything. By doing this, if you don’t like it you won’t have to go though the revert process.

The system exec function is on the Communication palette. Its for executing system commands. On my Win2K system, the help for FTP is:

I use tftp all of the time to transfer files in a similar manner. Test the transfer from the Windows command line and copy it into a VI. Pass the command line to system exec and wait until it's done.

How can I automatically change my edited timeline from 24fps into 25fps?

Hello everyone,
I have a timeline in 24fps with 24fps footage. I have to convert it (the timeline and the footage) into 25fps, so I can put a 25fps Timecode in it (it was a 24fps 16mm film material and it has to be rescan in 25fps...). Is there a way to do that? I mean beside of reedit everything in a 25fps timeline. The footage was quicktime prores 4444, I made merged clips of it and edited it then, so I have only merged clips on the timeline.
I would be very thankful for any suggestions!

Hi Richard, unfortunately I need to burn in Timecode from the source clips, so this won`t help me:/ but thanks for your answer! I think the only possibility for me is to create a new timeline in 25fps, modify the source footage from 24 into 25fps and reedit it. Is there any way to use command match frame (and reversed match frame) from merged clips in a timeline to source material from which I created the merged clips? so the source footage and not the used merged clip will be loaded into the source monitor? it would make a reedit much much faster...

I have a power mac g5. Its a powerpc processor running 10.4.11 at the moment. Before it crashed and I had it repaired it was running 10.5.8. How can i get back to that version. 10.4 is just simply not working for the applications and etc that I use. I can not even use itunes for goodness sake. Someone please help!!!!!!!
