How do I update my Shockwave player?

I run both Internet Explorer & Google Chrome as browsers. My system is asking me to update my adobe software --eg: Shockwave player. I am offered a choice of downloading an IE version or anon-IE version.
What should I do? Can I download both?
Please advise.

Yes you can download both , please update on both the browser because sometimes one brower will not be able to use the installed component for other browser.
Its good to update on both browser.

Is there a reason you need this SPECIFIC build? Because I was unable to locate it in three different places I looked.

Safari Update-Privacy-Shockwave Player Error

Did some software updates yesterday evening, one of them being a Safari update.
After the updates were completed, did a "re-start" and eveything seemed fine.
Noticed a few enhancements to Safari (v 5.1) but one thing I do find now is if I click on Safari/Preferences/Privacy a "Shockwave Player Error" message appears. Huh? I'm not trying to view/watch a movie.
I tried what it said about switching to 32-bit but the error still exisits.
Also the "remove cookies" is gone from the option list.
Anyone have a fix for this error?

I was having the same problem—not just in the Preferences, but in practically every page I visited.
I updated my Shockwave Player to the 64 bit version, and that seems to have done the trick.

Note: I'm still running Snow Leopard; haven't upgraded to Lion yet.
Also, I have an iMac, not a MacBook Pro, though I don't see why that should matter.

How to completly uninstall Adobe Shockwave Player on Mac manually??

I installed adobe shockwave player 11.6.8 and uninstalled the same using uninstaller and then i installed 11.6.5, when i tried to get the version its still displaying 11.6.8 on the path `/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/DirectorShockwave.plugin`. Pls suggest how to get the correct verison of shockwave installed. Also suggest do i need to delete some shockwave cookies, if yes pls suggest the path. am using applescript to get the version

How do I download Adobe Shockwave Player for separate system?

Seems that the install page on the Adobe site is only configured to install the package on the system accessing the download page on the Adobe site. I need access to the installer file so that I can update the version of Shockwave Player that is installed on systems I have that are not and cannot be connected to the Internet.

shockwave keeps crashing all the time so I tried to up date the shockwave player from the add on section. The problem here is that you have to tick the I agree box which then tells you firefox is in conflick and you have to close it down which takes you back to square one.

I have just purchased the new Macbook Air 2013 I was trying to install the Adobe Shockwave Flashplayer. Now it dowloads but the problem is that when I go try to play the game it still says I am missing a plug-in. I have been trying to switch it to open Safari using Rosetta I read that if i changed it to that it would work but the option isnt even there for my computer. Please help is it even possible to download

Frozen OR stuck Adobe Shockwave Player installation

Hello everyone!
Today when I tried to install / update Adobe Shockwave Player (12.1) the installation kept freezing or getting stuck at the Norton-ad. All I could do was either putting a checkmark at the "include"-line or not ... nothing else ... To abort the installation I had to kill the process in the task manager ... What's going on here? ... How can I install or update Adobe Shockwave Player? ...

This works perfectly fine with the standard English version of Shockwave Player. However, under Japanese Windows, with the Japanese version of Shockwave Player installed, the Properties pop-up is completely garbage

Help with Shockwave player reinstall

I recently updated my system (PC, Windows 7, updated to IE 11), and the shockwave player needed to be updated. Tried to do that, but won't work. My system is 64 bit, but the IE 11 running is 32 bit version. Tried numerous ways to update, then I removed and tried to install new, but it still won't work. Help!
BTW, it also messed with my Adobe Reader within some programs, and I had to install a new one, which seemed to work okay.
I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro installed on this laptop.

Here are the screen shots. Though it said installation was successful, and the program is listed in my programs in the control panel, something seems to be preventing it from working. I have used shockwave player many times before, and my computer has had no problem with updates for shockwave player in the past. It was only after I updated other programs on this computer that it wouldn't work.

Confirm Shockwave player file version by looking at a file version?

When I go online it says I have Shockwave Player 11.5.2r602. But I can't see to locate a file anywhere on my computer that when I look at it's file version, it shows that. Does anyone know how I can verify the shockwave player version of a computer by simply looking at the file version of a certain file on that computer?

Shockwave Player 12.1 install help destination select

So I'm trying to install shockwave player but when I get to the destination select part I can not click on any of the disk and continue.For the macintosh Hd disk it says : adobe shockwave not supported on this OS version
(I upgraded my macbook to OS X Yosemite a couple of days ago)
and on the adobe shockwave 12 disk it says Adobe shockwave Player 12.1 can't be installed on this disk.The contents of this disk can't be changed.
Prior to this I uninstalled the shockwave player.Oddly that took about 2 seconds to complete.

I had the same problem on an iMac but managed to download and install shockwave 11, see Adobe - Webplayer
There appeared a notice for incompatibility, but was able to continue installation. Apps (not requiring sw 12) did run after.
