please help , im sure im doing something wrong.
if i go into the maps application and try search for an adress it always says no results found , even if i search for an adress that i have saved as a landmark. i havent yet purchased the voice navigation , could that be why?
by the way i have a N95-1.

Also, the address may not be found if it is spelled differently (different languages etc). I usually keep the search string short ie if I was searching for Baker Street, I might just use Bak as my search string. Same also applies to Town/City names.

Ah, it has been mentioned daily esp since iOS 5 / iTunes 10.5 but has always been there as an issue.
Order of attempts:
Repair the installers
Uninstall EVERY Apple component (auto and manual)
Services: Restart all 3 Apple items (AMS, Bonjour, iPod)
I* always do the last almost, then launch iTunes, and only then connect iPod.
IF you see a yellow alert in Devices and Printers or in Device Manager, then I could find NO WAY to fix or repair other than a clean OS. Something messed up the device driver support.
If/when Windows asks "what to do when it detects iPod"? don't chose any default action, to me, based on hunch and 3 PCs, that seems to mess AMS up for some reason.
Tried with Windows 7 64-bit Pro and Home Premium, and also Deve Preview 8 (which other than the inability to update iOS to 5.0 seems to run better -- except when it comes to AMS thing! so seems Apple is not on the same page writitng drivers.

I was so frustated from this issue that I used to use Windows iTunes for mass editing info, adding Lyrics etc and then transfering songs to Mac. This tip has alleviated my pain!!

They are not currently available in Indonesia, so you won't be able to buy them from Apple. Do you have access to other music purchase download sites ? You can also copy your own CDs via your computer's iTunes.

IMac intel running 10.9.2 upgraded pages last week, now the machine tells me I need a new version of pages to open documents. Old version of pages is still in the dock, new version is in applications. How do I make this thing work? Thanks

This is frustrating, after going thru the process of updating last week and using pages successfully this machine now tells me the updated version is not the newest. So I went to the app store to buy the new version and it tells me the new version is already installed. Most likely the problem is because the old version is still in the dock. I would think that the upgrade would have taken care of that for me. So how do I get rid of the old version and make the new version my default? Step by step please as I am not Mac literate even thought I've had this machine for over 3 years, it's still a foreign country to me. Thanks SamO66

The icon in the Dock is nothing but an alias pointing to the actual application in the Applications/iWork folder.
Pulling it off the dock really does nothing. Particularly, as you will soon discover, it is the new Pages that is the problem.

How do I get this thing to work?

I have Photoshop Elements 10 and Windows 7. When I first installed Photoshop it worked fine, then after a month or so it wouldn't open.
Under Case # 0184148455 Adobe gave me the following instructions:
1. Navigate to C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10, right-click on PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe file and select Properties;
2. In Properties window, select Compatibility tab;
3. Check the option "Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP Service Pack 3;
4. Check the option "Run this program as an administrator", then click OK;
5. The click on Windows Start button, type %programdata% and hit enter, In Program Data folder, open Adobe folder and rename Photoshop Elements folder to Photoshop Elementsold;
6. Then double-click on PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe file and check if you can launch Photoshop Elements 10.0
I followed these steps and lo! Photoshop opened.
That was about 6 weeks ago, now, today, again, Photoshop won't open.
I retraced the above steps and, after 5. I note there are now two folders, PhotoshopElements which contains two files: 10.0 6/9/13 and FileAgent, 6/9/13, and
PhotoshopElementsold which contains 10.0 3/17/13 and FileAgent 3/18/13 plus Catalogs 3/17/13 which is just an empty folder.

It worked! Thanks very much.

My macbook pro wont get passed the apple icon and the little were wheel below it. Any suggestions on how I can get this thing to atleast get to the home page or sign in page

This initially started out as me trying to get my battery to work. my battery was dying after a few minutes so I was trying to kill the battery and recharge it to see if I couldn't get it back to a full charge. This didn't work but after a day or so I noticed the computer running slow and when I went to start it a couple days later the apple icon page would pop up and the little grey wheel would just whir away below it like it was thinking. The screen was kinda hard to see. Since then I have tried several different things to get the computer to fire back up as it should. I have taken out the battery and left it hoping the internal battery would die and it would reset itself to a default mode. Didn't work so I then tried taking the battery out and just using the power cord. This didn't work. I tried putting the battery out and in while running on the power cord. this didn't work. I have tried holding the "alt/option" key and that didn't work. Although it did give me a different window. I have tried holding down the "f" keys. That didn't work. I have tried installing a disc to try and reinstall the operating system. That didn't work. I had to shut it down and restart it holding down the eject key to get the disc back. I am running out of things I can think of to try so if anyone has any ideas I am open to all of them.

I have tried installing a disc to try and reinstall the operating system.
Disconnect all peripherals from your computer. Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
Click Repair Disk.
Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25751 and restart your computer.

Annoying bug in finder....how is possible that this thing was not noticed?

I can understand that is not possible to see all the bugs, but this is kinda bothering me, because is not exactly a bug that require a lot of efforts at all....here we go, maybe you know about it so iw ould love to know when it will be fixed.
format an USB disk as "apple partition map" (not GUID or boot), now copy a lot of stuff on it (20-30-50 Gb, doesn't matter once that you have more than 5 Gb and you are dealing with a lot of files or packages, and you will see that everything goes fine.
Now copy FROM the USB drive to anywhere else... now start to cry, because you will see messages from finder, saying that an error has occurred and the file is unreadable (-36); then the bar of the copy window stay stuck on the screen and you need to restart finder to make it work again.
a workaround is to copy small quantity of data...but if you deal, like me, with big data moving and stuff like that you wikll understand that is not possible to loose hours to copy stuff one by one, instead of select the entire folder and wait that it will copy.
It works from USB to USB (apple partition map), same from computer to USB (apm) but not on the other direction, so can't be the drive, and i've tried with another USB drive formatted with GUID and it works fine in both directions, while when you format it in APM it won't work form USB to computer (or any other device).
I've updated to the latest 10.5.1, is still doing it.... hoping that 10.5.2 will fix the issue, and please don't tell me to move 2 Tb of data somewhere else because i need to format my disks as GUID and not as APM would be too much to take LOL
BTW, every computer that is sold after Oct receive free leopard even if it does not came with it.... now i wonder if you do the same with the computer bought in september, since i spent money for a mac pro that came with tiger... would be really nice since you put on it all the latest software (ilife 08 and iwork 08) to have also Leopard, since is a business machine that cost 3k and not a toy like a pc that cost 500 dollars
I have a picture to show the issue; but i don't see anything here that let me attach pictures (btw the thing is so evident that you don't need one)
I've upgraded from Tig to Leo; could be possible that this is the problem, but even in this case i would expect that an upgrade, if offered as option, should be able to let the machine to work without flaws like this one...honestly is not acceptable at all, especially from your company.
And please: add the discussion link on the Leopard page in the support section...it took me 20 minutes to find a way to go in the discussion forum (had no idea if there is one, since is not mentioned on the Leopard support page), and is even harder to find a link to post a bug or to send a message to the dev team about issues like that.

BTW i am glad that i was able to test-drive Leopard....now i know that i can stick with Tiger until the issues are resolved
At the moment the only way that i have to copy files is using the console instead of finder:
ditto -V -rsrc [source] [destination]
with this command you can copy entirely the files (works differently from cp and is specific for mac, since is a dev tool from apple included in any MAc OSX); so if you have issue like mine you can use this command in terminal and you will be able to copy stuff that won't copy using finder.
BTW now i know that there is a direct url at discussions.apple.com; before i was simply going in the specific software/hardware section and clicking on the link "visit the discussions here", while on Leopard page (and also on other pages, like imovie or itunes), there is no link to the discussions, so if you are not so smart you are basically not able to find the discussion forum site

How do I work this touchpad??

OK, just bought my first Mac! Got a new dual core MacBook. As I've been a Windows user all my life, I'm sure I'll be quite lost in the OS for quite some time. However, the MOST difficulty I'm having right now is just GETTING AROUND with this touchpad! I cannot figure out how to:
1. "Click" on something (like an icon or menu item) by tapping the touchpad. I can olny seem to "click" by using the button below it.
2. "Double-click" on something (to launch it) by double-tapping on the touchpad.
3. "Right-click" on something using the button. Is there even such a thing as "right-clicking" in the world of Mac?
4. "Scroll" (vertically and/or horizontally) while on a web page using the touchpad.
5. "Drag-lock." click on something once (slowly) and then drag it across the desktop by just using the touchpad. (Clicking again will relaese the object.)
These are all standard touchpad operations with any Windows-based notebook. PLEASE tell me there is some way to perform all of these operations on a MacBook. If not, I'm using OSX 10.4 - would any of these operations appear if I upgrade to Leopard (10.5)? Or is there some third-party application or driver that will give my touchpad this functionality?

All of the functions that you have asked for are available using the trackpad, though most are turned off by default. In order to turn them on you need to go into the system preferences by clicking on the apple menu icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then select system preferences.
Once that is open find the icon for keyboard and mouse and click on it.
Then click on the button for Trackpad.
Select the features you would like to turn on.

HELP, NEW TO LOGIC PRO X, HOW DO I USE THIS THING???!

I just downloaded Logic Pro X, thanks to the update of Mavericks disabling my ProTools which I've been using for 4 yrs. So I dont even really know where to go from there as far as Protools. Anyway, I downloaded Logic Pro X, so how do I record on it, using an 003 rack & roland fantom g8. I tried it already & have no idea what I'm doing. I can't even get any sound out of my roland. How different is it than protools, and what do I have to do to record some tracks? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
