How do users on the same computer access the same music library?

We have one macbook. The music library is under my user id. My wife can't access the library from her user id. Is this possible that she would be able to access the same music from her id?

Hi, I have installed the latest version of iTunes6.0.4, by default my music library files are storing in "c:\documents and ettings\administrator\myDocuments\myMusic\iTunes\iTunes Music". It's nothing but my H:\ drive and it will be shared by a group of pepole. I would like to move this location to "C:\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music".
I tried by changing the location in the below specified way.
iTunes preferences --> Advanced --> iTunes Music Folder Location --> Change.
But still it's iTunes is storing the music libraries in"c:\documentsandettings\administrator\myDocuments\myMusic\iTunes\iTunes Music".
Could you please let me know how can change this location permanantly from ""c:\documents and ettings\administrator\myDocuments\myMusic\iTunes\iTunes Music" to "C:\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music".

The music library files are hard-wired to the My Documents folder. The only way to move the files is to move the My Documents folder, which affects the entire system.

There has got to be a way to allow all users on a single computer access to a single -shared- directory without DUPLICATING the songs, but I can't figure it out. Tried Edit | Preferences | Advanced | Change, but the songs do not show up. Tried Sharing the folders. Tried Public Folders. Just want all my songs in one place to save space, prevent duplicates. Please advise.

Move the iTunes folder from its current location to, say, C:\iTunes.
With each account in turn press and hold down shift and click the icon to start iTunes, keep holding until asked to Choose or create a library.
Choose the library at C:\iTunes, or wherever you put it.
Job done.

2 Users Accessing Same Music Library File

I've searched around ... but I'm not finding what I'm looking for.
My wife and I use seperate user accounts with Windows. We want to access the same music library file. That way if I import a CD or make changes to the file info, it will automatically appear on her user account. (right now she logs into my user account every time to play with iTunes).
The iTunes help fils say to move the iTunes music folder to the shared docs folder. The problem is that all my music (15 gigs) is on an external hard drive to save space. So we don't store any music on our computer hard drive.
What this all boils down to is can I share the same iTunes Library file between 2 users. I've tried to move the file and change the folder location in the iTunes preferences but it always creates a new iTunes folder in the individual user accounts.
Any help would be appreciated!

You have run into a limitation of software. If you want to share library then use same account. If you want separate libraries then use different logins. Either way the same media files can be accessed as long as the files are available to both users. You have this due to external drive.

I had the similar problem last night and found a solution (although it takes more than a few clicks). Highlight all the album tracks in itunes on the pc and right click "get info". Check the artwork box in this window. I found that the now playing art was showing up in the itunes window, but on songs that were missing artwork showed nothing in the get info box. When I replaced the artwork by using the artwork command, or manually adding it into the "get info" window. It was annoying but my iphone updated every album.

Tones is the new name for Ringtones. If the entry is missing in the left-hand column of iTunes then enable it from Edit > Preferences > General tab.
If your existing tones are not syncing properly to your iOS device then uncheck the option to Sync Tones from the Tones tab when the device is connected, sync the device,check the option and sync again.
A properly constituted .m4r file (<30secs AAC at 128k) thrown into the Automatically add to iTunes folder should end up getting added to the correct section of the library.

go to settings > general > usage > music app under the storage section > slide across the bar that says 'photo library' and a red delete button will appear
you can also plug the device into your computer with itunes, go to the photos tab at the top center and uncheck where it says 'sync photos.' then press 'apply' in the bottom right corner. this will erase the photos that were synced to your phone from the computer

How do i get the share music feature to work i have already selected to share them on my network, but i went to another computer and i don't know hot to see the songs im sharing.

One computer on the network would need to have "Share my music" activated on the Sharing tab of the CTRL-, screen.
Another computer on the network would need to having "Look for shared music" activated on the Sharing tab. Then so long as there are no firewalls are other obstructions that keep one computer form seeing another, the first person's library will appear in the Source pane on the second person's computer.
The limit is five shared libraries per network.
