How do we display Pages with drop down one below the other ?

Hi,
I am beginner to Financial report 9.3.1 . I have repot mock up where i need to place pages like Time Period , Version etc one below the other with the drop down .
How should i proceed to achieve the same ?

Try selecting a grid in the top left corner to highlight it,
Double check your dimension layout in the properties pane,
Make sure Grid Point of View is selected.
Can you be a little more specific as to what kind of report you are trying to create?
What are your Report layouts Columns, Rows and Page?

Placing double pages one below the other

Does anyone know if it is possible to place double pages one below the other instead of side by side? If it is, please be so kind and describe how it´s done. If not let me know for it´s a very relevant question for me concerning workflow.

We did our first one in Freehand, which allows you to arrange the pages any way you want, which is where I got the idea that ID should. The only reason we switched from Freehand to ID for our calendars was because it was easier to work with the text ... and then Freehand got bought out by ID and dropped. (And no I'm not saying that Freehand was the best application for this type of project--only that it had the ability to do vertical spreads.) The thing is, the option exists in Freehand, Adobe now has Freehand, so it seems like they could look at how Freehand did it and see if it could be implemented in ID--and maybe they have. If we don't keep asking, then they won't, right? All we're doing is asking.
We currently do the layout on one page the size of the calendar spread and break it up using PDFs placed on ID pages. That works for calendars (even if it is time consuming), however, I've done several books that were not calendars that use a horizontal binding and needed page numbers on the top and bottoms of the spread, and I had implement all kinds of masters to do what is automatic on the horizontal spreads. It doesn't make sense to me that an application that is designed for book layout can't do both kinds of spreads.
But I repeat what I said before in my first post. I think rotating views would solve that problem (along with others) quite nicely. You could then rotate all your text boxes and work like you were on a vertical spread and still have all the features of a horizontal one.

No need to get your fists up. I love ID. I've been using it since version 1.0 when everyone else was still laughing at it. (I dropped PageMaker gratefully and without looking back). I wouldn't use anything else (including Freehand). But to say ID doesn't have room for improvement is to say it is perfect and it isn't. Why does it bother you so when other designers have features that are so intrinsic to their workflow that they just can't understand why everyone else isn't upset it isn't in ID? I admire your skill with ID and your ability to help everyone, but I really wish you wouldn't be so quick to jump down people's throats when they miss features that would make their lives much easier. Maybe you don't understand their frustration, but that doesn't make them wrong. When I first had to do a vertical spread, I was really flabbergasted that I couldn't switch the spreads around, I missed the feature because I needed it. Isn't that enough for you?

Help needed to display Values one below the other

I am having three characteristics among eight others whose values are to be displayed in BEx Analyzer. These three characteristics values are line items whose values are being displayed side by side.
Now, I want them to be displayed one below the other. I do not know how to do it.

Hi Shreem,
As of my knowledge we have only one options for your requirement that is "Hierarchies'.
You have to create hierarchy for all your line items but this not good pratice.
Otherwise in reporting only you have to set the hierarchy :- Go to Rows in Rows tab -> Right click-> Select Hierarchy.

This is our resident iPhoto guru, Terence Devlin's, advice:
You can move your iPhoto Library to an external or secondary internal disk:
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library Folder as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

How to build advanced search with drop down menu (ASP)

I'm using CS4 with ASP / SQL. I have a search page which contains only 2 fields; one is user input (search term), the other is a drop down menu to define which column they want to search on. How can I define the SQL statement - or can I only choose to search on values in the table, rather than on columns?

So if the bookmarks toolbar is fixed up you don't need to go back to Firefox 4. That's easy.

The drop-down at the end wouldn't be there as long as everything fits on the row.

The advantage of a style is that they are very small compared to extensions, and if you don't like they way it looks, you can modify it. Try to do that with an extension.
The suggested style shows folders in blue, and bookmarklets or bookmarks in red used as buttons.

The Home button would show as text ("Home") with the style change, as for Refresh ("F5") and Stop("Esc") the keyboard shortcuts work better for me anyway and have never included them on my toolbars. I keep the Home button to the left of the Location bar anyway so it shows an icon.

When reinstalling Firefox from a download, Firefox must be down once the installation starts. When the installation finishes, don't let the install start firefox for you. Instead end the install and start Firefox in your normal manner, thus preventing creating a new profile which does not have your bookmarks cookies, etc (but your old profile would still be around and would).

I would like to concat data from drop down list.When selecting add button to add the item and select item from drop down list, data should be displayed in the text field. However, Please help. Hi Rosalin,
Loop the hidden table, get the values and populate drop down in each iteration.
DropDownList1.addItem("Text","Value");
You can use one more solution for this scenario. If it is a matter of 2,3 dropdowns, put three dropDowns in the form layout and give seperate static data binding to them. At run time make the dropDowns hide/visible as per the requirement.

I have uploaded and installed ICLOUD to all three of my devices MAC, i pad nd Iphone.
From Ipad to Iphone i am able to retrieve PAGES documents as i write them. BUT now that i am back home i see that none of the new documents i am working on which are stored on my desktop are showing up in my PAGES file on my Ipad or Phone.
How do i save to icloud from mac, how come i can't retrieve docs from IPAD to MAC either?
should i back up my mac ICLOUD FIRST? and if so, Where do i back it up from?
going mad as i edit on one during the day and the other in the evening , and would like them to sync automatically

SADLY not as i downloaded an upgrad to my original PAGES/
i have in the meantim had to open www.icloud. then from there import the file that i am working on and then check on ipad if it uploaded/ yes it did.
but what a waste of time as it doesn not save any changes done automatically back in the cloud....
i am now downloading the new LION and hope that it will fix the problem
i cant find any other way. I was lead to believe that you wrote, it saved automatically, on to the cloud, you then opened anohter device in anotother country even, and the new file was there, waiting, in its latest version.......
and the same magic was supposed to happen in reverse.
It doesn't/
if i have to open a browser, go to www.icloud....why on earth did they not just leave us an icon to drop it in in that case?
I hope the new lion will help resolve the isssue/

How do I get Firefox 4 to show the last several pages visited instead of only going back one page at a time? It used to show last 10 or so pages with a down arrow. The down arrow is gone.

In Firefox 3.6 the back arrow button to go back a page also had a down arrow button that would let you jump back multiple pages. How can I get that to show in Firefox 4?

The arrow to open the tab history of the Back and Forward buttons has been removed in Firefox 4.
Use one of these methods to open the tab history list:
* Right click on the Back or Forward button
* Hold down the left mouse button on the enabled Back or Forward button until the list opens

Home Sharing between Mac & PC - Can't drag & drop from one to the other.

I have a Mac & a PC. I turned on home sharing and it works well, except that I want to copy all of the music on the Mac over to the PC. With Home Sharing active, you should be able to drag & Drop, but I can't. I read the help article and it says that the computer icon of the remote computer that you are sharing from should be in the left pane under Shared in iTunes. I don't see this. I only see my library.
Any suggestions?

Let me explain my scenario. In my database i have multivalues say eg( file1.doc, file2.doc, file3.doc). So in my front end i was fetching this concatinated filenames in the similar pattern as a tooltip.
So now i am able to get this file names dynamically as tool tips.
But now my requirement is these filenames which are in the concatinated pattern should appear as
filename1
filename2
filename3 in the tooltip .
Can you plz suggest me any possible way such that the tooltip will be displayed in this format though the values are in this concatinated way .

Please try out this way -
Create a node and a atribute type string. tooltip->name (node->attribute)
Based on the values you got in the concatenated way code this way -
If tooltip = 'file1.doc'.
name = 'Filename1'.
Now bind this value to the node.
elseif tooltip = 'fiel2.doc
name = 'Filename2'.
Now bind this value to the node.
endif.
or consider the internal table and bound this table to the node directly.
In the Layout for the UI element provide the tooltip values from this node.

What Mac model do you have? You might be able to upgrade the OS to Tiger 10.4 or Leopard 10.5.
Even browsers for Tiger 10.4 will get the update message.
You could try a newer browser than Safari, which is obsolete, by downloading Firefox v2.0.0.20 at http://www.oldapps.com/mac/firefox.php

Firefox 3 used to have a drop down list under the back button for recent pages. How do I get this in FF4?

FF3 used to have a drop down list of the most recent pages that a tab had displayed under the back arrow button. FF4 does not appear to have this. How can I see history of what's been displayed in the tab say four or five pages back?

You can get the drop down list by either right-clicking on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.
If you want the drop-down arrow you can add it with the Back/forward dropmarker add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker
