How do you add new even to iCal? (and my spell check)

in my last post i spelled mail as male....
Here is my question .. each time i try to add a new event to iCal i get a pop up window that says "You can not add events to MAIL calendar. "
I searched the helps menu and i did exactly what it says but each time i try to add an even i get the same pop up. And also on the pull down the add even is shaded out.

Here is what iCal Help says about being unable to change an event or calendar.
If you can’t change an event or calendar, check the following:
If it’s a calendar to which you’ve subscribed, you can change the calendar name but you can’t change its events or to-do items.
If you were invited to an event, you can change only your status for the event, the calendar where the event appears, and the event alarm.
You can’t change or delete events on the Birthdays calendar. (To show the Birthdays calendar, select “Show Birthdays calendar” in iCal preferences.) To change the birthdays that appear, open Address Book (in your Applications folder) and make your changes there. For more information, in Address Book choose Help > Address Book Help.
If you can’t change a single event’s time zone or the iCal time zone, time zone support may be turned off. Choose iCal > Preferences, click Advanced, and then make sure the “Turn on time zone support” checkbox is selected.
If you want to change events on a calendar that you published on the Internet, but you’ve deleted the calendar from your Calendars list, you need to re-create the calendar with all its events, give it the same name as the published calendar, and then publish the new calendar. The new calendar will replace the previously published one.
If you can’t change an event for which you are the organizer, or you can’t change the attendee settings for an event you’ve been invited to, make sure all your email addresses are listed on your Address Book card (the card marked “me”).

If I synch the old fashioned way, what's going to happen?

First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

How do you add new slides to a slideshow?

The slideshow templates in Muse only let you edit 3 slides, and I need at least 6. But I can't find how to add more even in the "blue arrow pop-up menu".

You can click the 'add images' button to select additional images for your slideshow.

I can create a calendar entry with start/end time, but when I try to Edit the entry, the "note" field is grayed out. So is the url field. And both have a grayed out "none".
So how do I add some text into a calendar entry?

If you click where it says "none", a text box will pop up for you to write in.

How do you add new photos into an existing folder on iPhone 4S, without it jumbling the existing photos?

My wife and I just got our iPhone 4S a couple weeks ago. We've experienced a problem that I hope someone might be able to help with. When she sync'd her photos originally, it had them in the folders she wanted. Now, if she wants to add new photos to one of the existing folders, will it jumble all the photos up or will it keep them in the same folder?

How Can You Add New MP3s to itunes without Duplicating Existing Songs

Is there a way to get iTunes to search my music folder and only add song not already in my library? I rip all my music as MP3s with CDex so I can have some music at work (We're not allowed to install programs at work so I have to use Media Player there). I keep everything in a folder called music with folders for each artist and a separate folder for each of their albums. Sometimes I'll rip a bunch of CDs in one day that end up being scattered throughout my entire music folder. It's a royal pain in the behind to have to nagivate to each individual directory to add the songs to my iTunes library. I can not find any option for "find new songs", or more preferably to tell iTunes to search my main music directory and add new, AND ONLY NEW, songs to it's library. If click "File" then "Add folder to library" then pick my music folder iTunes proceeds to add all the new music I've added, but also adds another listing of every song already in the library. Why is this so difficult? Is it just me? Am I missing something simple here?

I take that means I'd be able to move my stuff (since I've ripped them all) from computer to computer without worrying that one day it'll tell me I've used up my five computers?
If I switch the setting and start letting iTunes to organize everything will it move the files from their current location into the iTunes music folder? Does iTunes put them on my hard drive in such a way that I'd be able to know which song is which if I "look" at my hard drive without using iTunes? I only ask this because if i try to find a song on my iPod they're all in mysterious folders with mysterious names and I have no way of telling which song is which if the computer I plug it into doesn't have iTunes. Oh, one last question. How does the 5 computer thing work? If my girlfriend plugs her iPod into my computer does that count? for example if she has her iPod authorized on her home computer, her work computer, and her laptop, does this mean she can only authorize it two more times?

I update a number of website for athletes with news articles...
I'm doing it manually at the moment so I have to update:
    1. news.php (with date and article title which links to the article)
    2. News Article (with title, date and article text)
    3. includes/latestNews.php (an include latest 3-4 article dates and headline which links to the article - displays on every page via include)
The News Article is a plain and simple PHP file which is stored in a folder 'assets/news/' and the file is named according to date i.e. a news article today would be 130420 (as in 2013 year, 04 month, 20 day) so they sit in chronological order in the 'news' folder. There is a template page file called viewArticle.php which drags in the appropriate news article by link i.e. viewArticle.php?id=130420
At the moment, I have to update news.php, latestNews.php and the individual article individually and manually.
What I would like to do is...
...create, edit and add the News Article file (130420) to the 'news' foler as I am currently doing. But, with PHP, set news.php and latestNews.php to read the files in the 'assets/news/' folder to display the latest 4 article dates and linked headlines (for latestNews.php) and display all the dates and linked headlines (for news.php).
I don't know anything about databases and can't get my head around them so I would rather do it with PHP code. Is this possible?

The iPad Dictionary
The iPad has a dictionary built in. As you type, it compares what you've typed against the words in that dictionary. If it finds a partial match, it displays a suggestion just beneath what you have typed.
If you accept the suggestion by tapping the Space or full stop, great.
If you allow the 'mistake' to stand, the second time you type the same word and reject the correction, iPad adds the new word to its custom, dynamic dictionary. From now on, it will accept the new word and will even suggest it the next time you type something like it.

How do you add multiple emails to iCal group?

By using Edit Distribution List, I can specify which of several email addresses for one contact should be mailed as part of a Group. But what if I want to include more than one of the email addresses that is included in a contact (for example, both the husband and wife)? How do I do that?

I did figure this out, sort of, by adding a tab character to the beginning of each email address in my text file. Contact then let me import it, and I could select the field for the email address. So I've imported my list as a group of 700+ emails.
BUT now when I try and add that Group in the To: or Cc: or Bcc: fields in mail, it just disappears when I type it.
Any idea what's up with that?

I've created several rtf templates via MS Words BI Publisher and somehow they get attached to template layout that can be selected before running the Concurrent Program - but does anybody know how this is done as I can't find how?

How do you add other calanders to ical without having to view separately?

i know you view outside calanders of friends through ical by selecting window and then say shane's gmail but is there a way to view those calanders integrated into one?

For an application to appear in the Open With list that application must claim to be able to open the file type. If it doesn't, then the best you can do is assign it to open that particular file, or all of that file type, in your personal Open With preference. I suppose you could try hacking the Adobe product to make it claim to open the file type in question. The file you would need to hack is
/Applications/Adobe Photoshop Whatever/Adobe Photoshop Whatever.app/Contents/Info.plist
And you would need something appropriate to edit the file. I wouldn't recommend it unless you quite expert at this sort of thing.

I suppose I should have explained what I was trying to do and it would have made more sense. I am trying to add ES2 oscillators to some Apple bass loops and the I/O on the channel strip has no more spaces when using Apple loops. I don't know why this would be impossible without creating a new channel, strip, instrument, etc. It seems like a pretty simple request; Apple bass loop + ES2 oscillation effects...
