Tap the little + symbol to bring up the Song Sections menu.
    Tap the Edit button.
Press down on the three grey bars of the section you want to move and slide it up or down the list.
Tap Done when you are, and then anywhere outside the Song Sections box to dismiss it.

  • How do I change the order of songs?

    Hi,
I have iTunes 9.0 (70) and I have my songs chosen in order by artist. I forgot how to change the order of songs.
I tried switching the songs categorized by the name of the song. That didn't work.
Please let me know how to drag and drop a song correctly. I just want to move one song by the same artist to a different spot in the queue.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
I used to be able to do that left column thing, but it won't work.
First of all, there are no numbers in that left column (not sure that matters or why that is). There's just an arrow at the top facing to the left with blank spaces beneath it.
When I click on the left column, all that shows up is the cover art for the albums, and the list is changed the order of each full album. I still can't drop and move.
Sorry I don't know how to attach a screen shot of this. Hope I described it okay.
I'm wondering if there's a drop down menu item that needs to be changed or something.
Thanks so far for your help!

  • Ipad2, iOS 8.1.2, how do I change the order of songs in my Playlists?

I Have an iPad 2, using iOS 8.1.2. i can't seem to change the order of songs in my Playlists in the Music App. I've clicked on Edit, and tried moving the 3 lines on the right up/down, but when I press Done, the changes have not been affected. Can anyone advise, please? I'm sure I'm missing something!

It sounds like you are doing it correctly. That method works for me in iOS 8.1.2
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iDevice?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
    No data will be lost.

  • Why can't I change the order of songs in my iTunes library?

If I create a playlist I can change the order of songs but I can't change the order in the Library. Can anyone help me?
    Thanks

That's the normal intended behaviour of the Library. I'm not exactly sure why it is, but I guess it's to make it clear to users that if they want to "fine tune" the tracks they should use a playlist (just like you can't use the burn button in the library).
I'm sure you've noticed that you can still sort the library by clicking the headings.

  • How can I change the order of songs in a smart playlist?

    Hi there,
I have a question about smart playlists.
I have a smart playlist where all songs rated 5 stars are ordered in descending order, meaning the latest additions first. That works well in iTunes and I can rearrange the songs there without a problem.
But when I start the iPod on my iPhone the order of songs in this playlist is always the same. In my case the latest songs are always put last no matter how I sort the songs in iTunes. I tried to delete and create a new smart playlist but the result is always the same.
    Is there a solution?
    Thanks for your answers....

  • How can I change the order of songs in a playlist?

I have shuffle  turned off. Seems like it shoudl be the simplest thing in the world to do, but I can't click and drag songs to change the order.

Never mind, finally figured it out. All the advice says to click on the left-most column, but it's actually the second column from the left (the first one, in mky version of iTunes, is the album list.)

  • How do I change the order of songs on my Ipod?

I posted this question in another forum with no luck. I have certain songs I want to play back to back. I tried selecting the songs and moving them around as if I was burning a CD but that doesn't work.
    Please help. Thanks

I struggled for an hour trying to figure out how to sort then change the play order. When you select the left (numbers) column, you can drag songs to new positions. But what if you want to sort first, then move songs. When you click on the column to sort, itunes sorts, but you can't drag, so -> sort (click on the column you want to sort by) -> then right click on the playlist name and select 'copy to play order' -> then click on the numbers column. The playlist will now stay in the sorted order, and, now you can drag and rearrange from there.

  • How do you change the order in which effects are applied?

    Hello
I'm using Logic Express 8 and can't work out how to apply reverb so that the effect is added after the volume automation has been applied. In other words, at the moment if the track volume dips, so does the reverb. I, naturally, want the reverb to be applied constantly, not to be cut by automated volume changes.
    Hope this makes sense!
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Dave

I'm not sure that is the case.  Maybe you automated the reverb along with the volume?  Anyway, you could create a bus channel and send the track to the bus that would be armed with the reverb (a good idea anyway in case you want more tracks to share the reverb).  You can send as much or as little of the signal as you want and you can even automate the amount or the volume of the reverb channel.  Put the reverb to 100% wet and mix to taste.

  • How do I change the order of songs in a playlist?

I know that I used to be able to drag songs to a different order in my iTunes playlists, but tonight, no matter the order that I add the songs to the playlist, or Smart Playlist, the order of the songs is alphabetically arranged, and the only other option is to click on "name" but then it just does reverse alphabetical order.
Is something different, in a recent iTunes upgrade?  I'm a music teacher and I am trying to put the songs in the order that my students will be performing them next week, so this is driving me crazy tonight!!!!
Thanks so much for sharing wisdom on what I am doing wrong!

Do you have other choice selected in "View Options"?  Try turning on columns for album, artist, etc. if they aren't on and see if you can sort by those.  The other thing to try is to make sure you are viewing by List, not cover flow or another choice.  iTunes selects Album Artist by default and that can really make it hard to get things to group properly.

  • How do I change the order of songs in my playlists?

It used to be a simple as click and drag, but now it's seems impossible.  I'm really frustrated with the is dang machine to the point of putting a coffee cup through it and buying a pc.  I'm running iTunes 11.4

    Hello there bcourtney,
If the track you are dragging will not stay in the place you are trying to drag it to and seems to snap back, it seems to me that the playlist this is happening on is a Smart Playlist, rather than a standared Playlist. The standard playlist can be sorted in this way in iTunes 11:
iTunes 11 for Mac: Create a playlist
    Edit a playlist
Select the playlist and do any of the following:
Drag the songs into the order you want. If you can’t drag a song, click the column heading above the numbers.
Looking at the Smart Playlist article it does not have that same drag and drop sorting function.
iTunes 11 for Mac: Create a Smart Playlist
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • How do you change the ordering of data in the iPhone Addressbook?

I have noticed that when I manually enter contact information into the iphone addressbook I can control the order in which numbers appear. For example I like to have my phone numbers in the order, Work -> Home -> Mobile -> Fax. On the desktop addressbook client I have set it up this way, but when I sync to the iPhone the numbers seem to come into the contact in any number of orders, with no descernable pattern. Anyone know of a way to fix this other than modifying each contact by hand on the iPhone?
Moving forward apple should configure the sync to honor the order the desktop Addressbook has them configured in.

Super fast resolution per Tiffany of Apple Support (Thanks, Tiffany!) - it's a bug in the Slideshow Button featured at the bottom of Albums and Events windows. You will need to create an actual slideshow, as follows:
Select the images you want to use --> chose "Add To" --> "Slideshow"--> "New" or chose an existing slideshow.
You will be able to manipulate your slideshow options (theme, music, order, etc) from there.

  • How do you change the order of your books on the bookshelf?

How do you organize your books on the shelves? Can you even organize them? What happens when you have more books than the shelf space?

    Another way to sort.
Just to the left of the Edit button, you have your List view and Bookshelf view. In the List view on the bottom, you can sort by Bookshelf (same sort as your Bookshelf view), Titles, Authors or Categories. Edit button in List view is also used to sort or delete books.

  • How can I change the sequence of songs in my iTunes library and playlists?

I find that I cannot alter the sequence of songs iniTunes library, nor in 'My Playlist'.
Having dragged an item to place between two others, it goes back to where it was.
I am probably asking 'Help' the wrong question, but I cannot find the right answer.
I am sure the answer is very simple, but I would welcome the right answer.

That's the normal intended behaviour of the Library. I'm not exactly sure why it is, but I guess it's to make it clear to users that if they want to "fine tune" the tracks they should use a playlist (just like you can't use the burn button in the library).
