Hello,
I'm a new Mac user. How do you change the size of pictures in iPhoto? Sometimes when sending e-mails, the picture files are extremely large and take a long time to load... Is there any way you can make the picture or file smaller? Like on a PC, you can open the photo in the Paint program and just reduce the size... Is there anything like this for the Mac?

Assuming that you're accessing your email package from INSIDE iPhoto, you're given a choice of picture sizes. Personally, I've found "medium" to be a good compromise but you might prefer "small" (iPhoto will tell you the file size).
If you don't know what I'm talking about, first go iPhoto Preferences > General and select your email client. Then, go to the View menu and select Show in Toolbar > Email.

i foudn them using select all, and then deleting the boxes.

TextEdit is not a very sophisticated program. As far as I know, there's no way to resize an image on the fly in TextEdit, so you'll have to follow Shotgun00's advice.
I would advise not using TextEdit for anything real. Buy yourself a copy of Pages from the App Store instead, you'll be much happier with its capabilities if you intend to create complex documents containing images and text.

as i was working on my website recently i noticed that i could not figure out how to change the automatic menu bar at the top of the screen. i would like to make the font smaller and closer together and even centered so i can put more pages on the same line without it looking silly. please help.

iweb2 navbar is rendered by javascript widget, therefore you can change navbar font style with javascript; this is an efficient way to change navbar font style.

I volunteer for an animal rescue organization, and I need to post some digital photos I took of some kittens I am fostering on petfinder.org as soon as possible. The photos I have are too large for the website to handle - I need to reduce the file size before they will accept them. How do I do this? I need to find out as quickly as I can so I can get these little guys posted and work on finding them homes. Any help would be extremely appreciated! (I know I have an old iPhoto program - should I be embarrassed? - and an old computer ... wish I had better equipment, believe me!)

the fastes and easiest way to reduce the size (pixels) is to go to your:
iPhoto Menu > Share > Email > you should choose small or medium... and mail it to another account, open email, copy to desktop and you've got a reduced size of photo that will work nicely on most websites... you'll notice that directly below this window, you will see how large or small the file has gotten "Estimated Size", this refers to the same number of 500 in your post...
You can actually do it another way, is to > Share > Export > choose "Scale No Larger Than:", here you need to ask your webmaster what size is preferred... fill in and export to your desktop...
Otherwise, you would need to use an image edting software to "Optimize" image... Personally, I would use the email function... Best wishes on your project, Rick

I get the font size too small on Hotmail when viewing through Firefox. The screen size and font size is too big when viewing Flickr through Firefox. I am sure it is a simple question of adjusting zoom and I have seen it change while I am online. I just can't work out what I did to change it.

That is how mirrored mode works. Your computer screen, including resolution, is mirrored to your external monitor. So what ever the resolution of your computer screen this is the resolution you will get on your external monitor.
Turn off mirrored mode and use extended display. When using extended display you can set your computer and external monitor screen resolutions independently. So each can be using its native resolution for best results on each.

If this question is about TextEdit, I don't think you can do it in TextEdit, after pasting the image. TextEdit is meant to be a basic text editing program.
You will have to open the image file in an image editing application. You can use Preview for doing this, or something more fancy. If it's Preview, just open the image file. From the menu bar, under Tools, select Adjust Size. Make the image the desired size. Then, select (outline) the portion of the image you want in the Preview document window. Copy it, and paste it into the TextEdit document window.

Homestly haven't a clue what's going on there.
Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
(On 10.7: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
(Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
What's the plist file?
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

the print batch size? This is for a 4 page document, 8 1/2 x 11, printed two sides on 11 x 17. I've tried all the suggestions that were in the other thread. The response that was marked as the answer by the moderator is incorrect and does not work. Nothing
suggested in that thread works. A registry fix that worked for Publisher 2003 won't work because the print batch size key does not exist in the registry for Pub 2010. At least not that I can find. Printing to an XPS document doesn't work. It asks for a filename,
prints 2 records, asks for new file name, prints 2 records, asks for new file name, and so on. The same for printing to a PDF document. Merging to a new Pub document doesn't work. When I print that job every other sheet is turned over. I.e., sheet one has
pages 1 & 3 on top, next sheet has 3 & 4 on top, and so on. This makes it impossible to run them through the folder. The same thing happens when I print that complete merged document to XPS or PDF. I have the latest drivers installed for our printer, a Toshiba
2500C copier/printer connected via network. What do I need to do to to change the batch size to something reasonable, like 100 records?

Events are organised strictly on date and time, as read by iPhoto from the Exif data in the Photo. You cannot manually sort.
Create Albums. You can do much more organising with Albums, use Photos from different events, place them as you will. Best of all, Albums use no disk space at all. They simply reference the file on the Hard Disk. So a pic can be 1, 10 or 100 Albums with no wasted disk space whatever.
