You can not - Nobody else (if not a very selected few at Apple dev.group)
TimeLine was lost in iMovie'08 and 09 and a very simple one re-introduced in iMovie'11
Speed Change - Was omitted in iMovie'08 - and returned in iMovie'09 - BUT has to be used in a certain way - the glider/slide if used - will destroy the audio (a Known BUG - in both iM'09 and iM'11) but use of pre-set fixed no. 25% 50% 100% 200% etc. will work.

This is essentially paulbruster's answer, but I've added the steps some might assume, but which aren't so obvious to those of us who are new at this, like me.
This solution might ''appear'' to be long and complicated, but after you follow the directions once, you'll find it's quick, clean, and simple. Almost like they designed it this way.
# If you haven't already, open a bunch of tabs on a few different subjects.
# Click the List All Tabs button on the right side of the tab strip.
# Select Tab Groups.
# Create a few groups as described [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/what-are-tab-groups#w_how-do-i-create-a-tab-group here] , i.e. just drag them out of the main thumbnail group into the new groups they create.
# Now click on any thumbnail in any new group, but not the original big default group you may have left some tabs in.
#A regular Firefox window will open, but'' only the tabs in that group will be visible.'' You also now have the Tab Groups button in the tab strip.

The photo part is rather self-explanatory. as long as your photos are in the right format and with the right naming convention they should import right over. The video may be a bit more tricky. So you may want to do some more research and make sure your camera records a format the iPad will import and whether or not you need an app such as iMovie

In iMovie look in the Event Library. You should see an Event named "iPhoto Videos" (assuming the videos are compatible with iMovie).
Each time you open iMovie it will look for any new videos in iPhoto and place thumbnails in the iPhoto Videos Event. You will be given a choice as to whether you want the thumbnails generated now or later. The thumbnails will appear in chronological (date) order in the Event window. Note that the clips themselves are not actually imported to iMovie - they are simply referenced by iMovie (that is, iMovie points to the clips in iPhoto).
Drag clips (or parts of clips) to a project. To start a new project, select File > New Project from iMovie's menu.
Please ask if you need more advice. Otherwise, click on Help > iMovie Help in the menu. There you will find plenty of good information about how to use iMovie, including short video tutorials.

How do you get Voice Memos off the iPhone and onto my Mac???

Is this yet another iPhone dead end??
I used the Voice Memo app that comes with the iPhone to record some rehearsals and now I want to move them to my Mac, edit them, make CDs, share online.
I can't find any way to get them off the iPhone, unless I click the "Share" button, which means I can email them. But, it won't let me email the longer ones. I don't know how large the files are, but it just won't do it. I don't see any other facility for moving these files to my Mac. What is up with that???? iTunes provides no access to these files.
Is there some proprietary utility for the Mac that will allow me to access these files and move them to my Mac??? It would be nice if the iPhone would show up as a mounted volume which I could then browse for files, but that would make too much sense and be contrary to the control freak nature of Apple and it's iPhones/iPod Touches. I would call it another lousy user experience, but it's just a user non-experience, a complete dead end.
Is there any way to get these Voice Memo files off of the iPhone besides emailing them??

That kb article refers to the iPod Nano and not the iPhone nor the iPod Touch.
The Synchronizing section you pointed to does not work. I have a big bunch of voice memos on the iPhone. I tried the sync. Three of them were moved to the Mac, the rest were ignored. Four others were moved to iTunes Music/Music/Unknown with numbered names (i had given several of the voice memos names with the Custom label on the iPhone). For the synch I selected "Include voice memos."
After a sync, or several syncs, none of the other voice memos were moved to the Voice Memo playlist, nor are they in the iTunes Music library.
How do you get them to sync? I need to move them off of the iPhone and onto my Mac!

I recently bought a dvd, and it had a free download for itunes to i uploaded it. On a different user, on the same computer, i have another itunes library in which i have all my music. It didn't transfer this purchase, and is there i way i can get the file into my itunes library?

Open your other library, go to File>Add to library and navigate to the folder containing the files you want to add. Once they are in your new library delete them from the other library making sure that when you get the prompt to move them to trash say no. You should also back your purchases up to disc or to an external drive so you don't lose them of anything happens to your hard drive:

How can you get Tomcat to autostart on reboot (and stay up when logged out)?

I am running Tomcat 4.1.27 app server on W2000. I have placed the startup file ("startup.bat") in the registry to execute upon reboot. It executes fine, but it doesn't stay up (window closes asap). You can run tomcat as a service by doing the following (assuming you installed the Tomcat supplied with Plumtree and assuming that you unzipped it on the D drive):
1.Launch D:\jakarta-tomcat-4.1.18-LE-j2sdk1.4.1_02\bin\installsvc.bat
2.You will see a message saying that the service was successfully installed - press any key to continue

How do I get the viewer in imovie to reflect the correct orientation of the video?

I have a video that I've taken with my iphone 4s which plays with the correct orientation in quicktime. When I import it into imovie '08, the event thumbnails reflect the correct orientation as well but for some reason the preview shown in the viewer is upside and if I export it, the output is upside down. I've attached a screenshot so everyone can see exactly what I'm talking about. Now if I rotate the clip so that the thumbnails appear upside down, the viewer shows the correct orientation, but that isn't really a solution. Also, I should mention that this is a fresh install of imovie. Any help would be much appreciated!

I definitely appreciate the response. I'm aware of how to rotate the clip as a workaround, but simply rotating the clip so that the clip itself appears upside down and the viewer output looks right side up doesn't really fix the underlying problem. In the past whenever I've used imovie, the viewer reflects the orientation of the event/project thumbnails instead of being the opposite orientation. Any thoughts on why the viewer wouldn't be reflecting the same orientation as the clip?

Maybe I was dreaming I thought I had seen it before, but I guess not. At any rate, I've sent Apple feedback requesting this. As someone else said, it would be even more cool if rotating the phone into landscape mode would automatically bring up the Week view.

.MOD files - how do you convert to view with Imovie?

A friend has sent me a couple of video clips which have .MOD files extension, they will not open in imovie. As a recent convert to my MAC from windows I am lost, any help much appreciated as to how I either convert the file or am able to save as a new file extension.

Just got 6280 off ebay - the phone was new as no scratches, no signs of wear and still had plastic covers on screen and camera lens. It was SIM free and I was using it on T mobile.
All worked fine for a couple of days, then decided to download an mp3 to the phone from my PC. During the transfer the phone went off. Retried again. Same thing happend. Now the phone wont even start properly. After pressing the power on button, you see the Nokia logo, then it goes black - it does this 4 times then switches itself off.
If I leave the memory card in it wont even start.What do I do now? There must be a reset code to bring the thing back to life again. I dont even know the version of software on it as I can't get far enough to enter any codes on the keypad. Help please.

Perhaps the problem with this particular unit is why it was put on sale on eBay in the first place? (The original owner didn't get it replaced or fixed, but decided it was easier to pass it on to somebody else.)
You might also want to try to return it to the eBay seller you bought it from, as it seems to be broken. Though, I imagine it would be easier if you had bought it from a shop/retailer instead.

hi there, tried to insert my sd card (micro) into the z1 and the flap won't close properly, which i feer will hamper its waterproofness, i foolishly tried to cut a lip out the sd card (not the phone) but there is a tiny lug which prevents you from closing it when an sd card is inserted, i broke the card the phone is great otherwise jusy wish someone had tried it iwht a card in before selling it! how can i sort it any ideas!

The problem I have is sd card video corrupting. Tapping quickly changing to a different time does not work smoothly.
Videos saying "video cannot be played".
It's a pain to keep loading them.
I have seen similar problems from other posters too.
That's a change of subject, but since it's a sd thread I guess people have experience to share.
