II'm looking for quick efficient way to look over photos and discard obvious unwanted pics before import.

Try using Image Capture. It's in the Applications folder. With iPhoto you can select just those photos you want to import.

How can I use Ipad to view and delete photos from SD card without importing?

Importantly I would like to view the photos from the SD card in full screen (vs. just a thumbnail) before deciding whether to delete.
It seem's that with the camera connection kit you can only view them as thumbnails before importing.
Any other apps or hardware I could consider?
Basically I would like to use the Ipad as my travel photo editing tool - specifically I want to be able to delete unwanted photos from my SD card without having to actually import them into the Ipad (but would like to be able to benefit from quality of ipad screen to actually review the photos before deleting).

You must import if you want the iPad to have a file to display on the screen.

Lightroom 4 imports photos and videos from my iPhone and puts them where I want them to go, and names the directories the way I want. All good. But it also leaves the photos on the phone to be manually deleted. Is there some way to have it delete the photos after import?

Simply mount a disc in the drive, then in Aperture Export your versions to that location. Later in the Finder, Burn. No need for special function.

I know i can backup to the cloud over wifi but how can i do things like delete photo albums instead of having to manually delete pictures one by one on the Ipad. Is there any way also to add my pictures to the ipad other than through email. i am assuming that i can't just install itunes on the laptop and sync to that. I have been told that i always have to sync to my original synced home computer for that.

How to not delete photos on memory card once uploaded to iphoto??

Hello!
I have checked the box that said DELETE PHOTOS ON MEMORY CARD ONCE UPLOADED ON IPHOTO, and I did check "don't ask me again"... and now I do not know how to undo this mistake I made.
Please help?

What OS and version of iPhoto -- prior to Lion
A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help
This does not affect your photos or any database information (keywords, faces, places, ratings, etc) in any way - they are stored in the iPhoto library - the iPhoto preference file simply controls how iPhoto works - which is why renewing it is a good first step.

Too many pics and removing them one at a time will take forever. Anyone come up with a practical solution? Thanks

How do you copy a picture in photos?

How do you copy a picture in photos? When I right click on them it doesn't give you the option to copy and when I click edit, copy, it does nothing.

I've copied pictures from iPhoto before and its worked perfectly fine. Just can't seem to find a way to do so on Photos.
I my Photos version it works to select a photo and then use the "Edit" menu.
Edit > Copy ⌘C or pressing the key combination ⌘C
There is no visible confirmation, but the photo will be in the Clipboard.
I cannot test this with Word. But I can insert the copied photo from the clipboard into Pages or Keynote documents by using ⌘V

the nano uses a special plastic to give the consumer, the slimness and lightness that they have been crying ou for, it needs to be shock proof which this plastic provides insted of blistering/ cracking its stong but flexable on impact, and so it can be easily scrached because of its ruberised plastic.
please do the maths befor you buy and the science befor you complain, this is anoying because the forums are filled with this, you look for the latest discusion and its filled with nano scrch complaints, people with real problems are getting shunted and its not fair to thatse people, its not down to manufacture becasue it wasnt scrached when it arived, nor is the machanics faulty, infact its dificult for it to go faulty becasue it has a flash drive not a hard drive so no moving parts!

only way is to restore the phone as new. OR wait until IOS 7 comes out in the fall.
