Turning off WiFi is not onerous. One swipe up to reveal Control Center, and one tap. Many people routinely turn off WiFi because they mistakenly think that it saves battery life.
Yes, Apple DOES assume that if you have WiFi it is free and unlimited; not that the latest update (30 MB) would have made much of a dent in a data plan.
As to waiting, every major update has been tested for months by tens of thousands of users. There has been only one update that had a problem (2.1), and that was 6 years ago. It was not a "fatal" problem in that phones still worked, but consumed battery faster than normal. A followup patch 2 weeks later fixed it. While a few people have problems after installing an update, knowing that provides no useful information to those who have not updated yet, because these cases are isolated and unrelated to the quality of the update itself. -

Go to Settings>General>Usage and see how much space is available on your phone (listed at the very top). The pop-up might be telling you that you don't have enough space on your phone to perform the backup, not that you don't have enough space in your iCloud acount to store the backup.

I just went to update mt iOS like everyone els does (doesnt everyone like to keep up to date) but after i wanted my full FIVE HOURS (not very please) my phone showed a logo telling me to connect to iTunes. So i did as it requested. After i was connected it told me i had to revover my iPhone 4. I have done this once before on an iPod Touch and it completely screwed it up and I ended up not ohaving an iPod anymore. I need my phone so i am doing the recovery. I'm scared because i didnt have my iPhone completely synced. Will i loose everything??? If i do I will be highly ****** and just might have to go talk to the people at Verizon and just maybe swich to a droid. I have beed a long time Apple supporter but i will not hesitate on swiching because of something like this. I do plan onm getting the iPod 5g when it comes out in October but i still wont have the music i love on my iPhone. So am i pleased with Apple? NOT AT ALL! Please help s to how not to loose everything? Thank you!

How do you transfer songs/playlist to an iphone on itunes 11 in windows 8
I downloaded itunes 11.0.1 for windows 8. But when i try to add songs or a playlist to my iphone it wont let me. I have seen on other discussions where you click the "add to" under "done". But i do not have that option? HELP
I'm having the same problem. In the video tutorial, it actually shows how to manually add items to your device...
When the iPhone is attached, click on its icon in the top menu bar.
The next menu bar has an option 'On This iPhone' - click on this.
Then click on Add To... (which is on the right within the new menu)
Your iPhone is then displayed in the right column, with all the contents.
You should then be able to drag and drop any items directly to the iPhone.
HOWEVER:
I can get as far as number 4, when trying to drag and drop absolutely nothing happens...

For example, a 30s video starts almost immediately while longer ones takes more to start. I just checked videos until 3 or 4 minutes, no patience to wait for longer ones.
