I want to create a Word Document and then open it from a Swing application. If you can't do that directly, what else can you do to get that result.

Connect another disk drive to which you can save the document. Then clear space on your hard drive.
Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive

2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
6. See The Storage Display.
You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.

Hi Kwasi Debra,
You might need to sign up at "https://cloud.acrobat.com/" using your Adobe ID credentials.
Then, select 'Create PDF' tab and click on 'Select PDF files to export' option.
Upload your excel file and it will get converted to PDF format within a couple of minutes.
Later, you can even download the converted file onto your system.
Please try in the same manner and check.

You will need to keep them in folder on your hard drive somewhere other than in iTunes or they will be deleted from iTunes if you delete them from the device. I have a folder on my Mac called iPad Pages Documents - very original don't you think!

If you want to call the main() method of another class, just make sure the class is in your classpath and call the method. You can copy documents to the iPad, but first you need one or more apps on the iPad that supports the type of document that you want to copy - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app.
For word documents the options include Apple's Pages app, and from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD.
As to how you then get the file to your chosen app will depend upon what the app supports - different apps will have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc.

Since upgrading to Yosemite, I can't find the option to open a new document from the template chooser. When I type in "template" in the help box it shows it under "file" But when I click on "File" I don't see that option.
Basically, I'm trying to ask how do you access the templates in the new pages?

Check your preferences and make sure Show Template Chooser is selected:
Then just choose New from the File menu.

How do you pass an ActiveX Variant from an external application to LabVIEW?

Background: I created a LabVIEW ActiveX server. I can access it with my external application (Matlab). I have a control variable in my LabVIEW executable. I want to use Active X to set the value of my control variable from my external application.
Documentation: The only reference in the documentation for this task is in the Using ActiveX with LabVIEW in the LabVIEW 2009 help. It simply says "Use the variant control and indicator to pass data to or from ActiveX controls." I also went through all the ActiveX examples in the example finder and did not find any vis that passed variables using ActiveX.
Questions:
What should my control variable look like in LabVIEW? Should it be a refnum, a variant, or a data type? Does it have to be wired to a vi connector?
Do I need to do any magic on this variable, such as change its properties?
How do I pass the value from my external application to the variable in my LabVIEW executable?

The control variable should be a refnum and it would have to be wired to Automation Open with the correct reference.

I have a droplet on my desktop. I was thinking of copying the file to the droplet. I have to inspect the name of each file before the action gets run. If it meets certain critirea. Then I need to run the action on that pic. Or thumbnail. Thanks in advanced for any words of wisdom. Is there a guide for Bridge JS?

Here is another go at this. It is working however, my target of photoshop 13 quits working when I put it inside this loop. The result is it wants to open up CS5 PHOTOSHOP.

How do I open a word document from a url?

We have a document server and I need to open a MSWord document that is a template for LabView to populate (using bookmarks and Connectivity Toolkit).
I have looked at the URL builder and I can't get that to work. The Get Document does open the document but it doesn't seam to give the correct path to the Word Get Report so it doesn't give a good link.
I can open it in the default browser which links to Word but again there isn't any link to feed to Word Get Report.
Am I even close?

It:
initializes a HTTP session with a username and password,
generates a random, non-existent filename with a doc extension
Get's a file on URL to the temporary filename
Closes the HTTP session
Starts the Report Generaton Toolkit, with the file from the web as the template
