How do you sync voice memos?

I have new voice memos that I would like to sync, however I dont know how to do it. I have synced memos in the past and they are on itunes. how do I sync new memos?

From the Users Guide:
Syncing Voice Memos
iTunes syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPod touch to
your computer. This lets you listen to voice memos on your computer and provides a
backup if you delete them from iPod touch.
Voice memos are synced to the Voice Memos playlist. iTunes creates the playlist if it
doesn’t exist. When you sync voice memos to iTunes, they remain in the Voice Memos
app until you delete them. If you delete a voice memo on iPod touch, it isn’t deleted
from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from
iTunes, it is deleted from iPod touch the next time you sync with iTunes.
You can sync the iTunes Voice Memos playlist to the Music app on iPod touch using
the Music pane in iTunes.
Sync the Voice Memos playlist to iPod touch:
1 Connect iPod touch to your computer.
2 In iTunes, select iPod touch in the Devices list.
3 Select Music at the top of the screen.
4 Select the “Include voice memos” checkbox and click Apply.
Some users have had to create the Voice Memos playlist since it did not get automatically created.

When you sync the phone with your computer voice memos are copied to your iTunes library with the Genre "Voice memo".
To burn to CD you do it the same way you would any music; create a playlist of the memo(s), the right click on the playlist and choose "burn to CD".

  • How do you use Voice Memos?

I read in the Features Guide (link below) that it was possible to use a microphone and make voice recordings, but when I hook up a microphone nothing happens and the Voice Memos menu doesn't appear. What do I need to make this work? Thanks

    Hi King Arthur 2000,
Voice memos can be shared back to a computer in a number of different ways, described in this article -

  • How do you encript voice memos in the itunes library so no one else at the computer can listen to them?

How do you encrypt voice memos in the itunes library so no one else at your computer can listen to them?

iTunes has no ability to encrypt anything. You'll need to search for encryption software appropriate for whatever type of computer you have. Or, you could set up separate accounts for other users of your computer and password your account.

How do you transfer voice memos from your phone to computer

Is it possible to transfer a voice memo to my computer and then convert that to text that can be printed?
Here is my problem. I study harbor seals and have always taken hand written notes that then must be typed into the computer when I get home from an observation. Is there any way I can dictate what I see to a voice memo and then have that translated to text. If there is which would do it best an iphone or ipad (I have neither, just a tracphone for an emergency).
Perhaps this is asking too much from the technology available but it would be a great help if I could do this.
Thanks for any help you can give!

  • How do you put Voice Memos from iPhone to computer?

I've had a very long chat with Apple Support and they don't seem to know the answer.
My voice memos are important and are above 30MB so emailing isn't an option.
I first synced my memos to my iTunes as usual (music doesn't sync with the library, bear in mind) and expected all my memos to appear, however they didn't. They appeared in the "on my device section" but I couldn't play them as the exclamation point appeared.
Under Apple's instruction I updated to the new iTunes, and now the previous memos don't even appear in the "on my device" section. They said it's likely to do with ios 8. The memos I want were created in ios 8. And now they've randomly been duplicated on my phone so I have two of each?
So after this iTunes update, I made a new memo, which again was duplicated, but now appears in the "on my device" part.
What do I do to put the memos onto my computer somehow? I really need them!

The following is pre iOS 8 but may have something that you missed: http://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/iosapps/transfer-voice-memos-from-iphone-to-com puter-3526349/
One new thing I learned from it is that Evernote which I use for keeping some text notes in sync among various devices has a voice memo capability. Those would be automatically transferred. Here is some more information on that if you want to check it out for future use: https://evernote.com/contact/support/kb/#!/article/28606837

  • How do you transfer voice memos to itunes?

I am trying to transfer my voice memos to the latest version of iTunes but I cannot find a way. It used to be simple with the older versions, but now I am having trouble.

It hasn't changed.  Check to sync voice memos on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings, then sync.  iTunes will create a Voice Memos playlist that contains your voice memos.

  • How do you get voice memos from iphone onto itunes with MANUAL sync?

Ok, the iphone voice record function... I can't get the voice memos onto itunes or my computer. I don't use the autosync function, I like to manage my music and such manually.
I cannot find a way to manually access the voice memos on my iphone through itunes. Many of them are too large to email so I'm stuck.
The only option seems to be auto-sync, and if I do turn on the sync function at this point, itunes will completely erase my iphone and the voice memos I've recorded on it. Kind of defeats the purpose.
    Any tips?
I've looked at a lot of posts and haven't found anything to help here. Just a bunch of posts complaining about how bad the voice recorder feature is integrated into the new iphone 3.0 software.
    i'm using a 32gb 3gs.

Sorry for bumping an old topic, but I'm not quite sure if there is a solution to this.
I have the same desire as OP, but yet I do not see my voice memos automatically syncing when I have manual sync selected. I also do not see a playlist folder or anything that indicates voice memos have transferred. Am I missing something? Is there no way to get voice memos onto the computer without having to autosync it?
If someone can provide more details on how to do this, that'd be great. But it seems at this point that I cannot get voice memos onto my computer through iTunes with manual sync on.

  • How to stop syncing voice memos

iTunes is driving me crazy because every time I sync my iPhone 5S 16GB it is importing my voice memos into my Library despite the fact that I have done the following:
the "sync only checked songs and videos" box is checked
the "include voice memos" box is UNCHECKED
all of the "genre" boxes are unchecked
I have no music on my phone
I am using iTunes 11.1.2.32 on my Windows PC and iOP 7.1.2 on my phone.
The only thing that I can report that works is turning off "Sync Music" entirely.
Related, the only strange thing I can report is that when I go to the Sync Music page in iTunes, when my phone is connected by the cable, and check the box for "Sync Music," the amount of space left on my phone drops from 3.34 GB to 2.89 GB -- even though ALL of the boxes are unchecked for playlists, artists, genres, and albums, and it says "0 Songs."
It is as if there's another whole category of songs it is syncing but it won't show it to me.
I went to the Apple store today and they had no clue.
    Thanks for any ideas.

How many Gigs do you have on your computer? if you convert the voice memos to AAC which is possible after you put them on iTunes, they take up virtually no room.
When you plug in your iPod and a notice comes up asking if you want iTunes to put the voice memos from your iPod into your Library, selct "No".
If you want the voice memos to stay off your computer, your going to have to manage every manually, if you have iTunes manage automatically, it will delete the memos off your iPod because iTunes duplicates Movies, Music, TV shows, Memos, etc, from iTunes directly to iPod. Managing all material manually is a heavy price to pay just to keep memos off your computer. That's the way it goes. If any knows hows to keep the memos out of the Library but still keep on the iPod, that would be pretty intelligent of them.

  • How do you delete voice memos from iphone 4

I have multiple copies of the same voice memos on my iphon and it is taking all the memory on my phone.  How can I delete them?

Same way they get there, via a sync. When you sync a photo folder/album on the phone, you can "un" sync it by connecting to iTunes, go to the photo tab, unselect the Photo folder and sync again.

  • Newly repaired laptop- how can I sync voice memos from to itunes from my iphone without erasing the contents of my phone?

    Hi,
Can anyone help with this? MyDell laptop died and I had to wipe it and start all over again. I use voice memos a lot for work and I need to sync them onto my PC so I can email them to people. However, since I fixed my laptop and redownloaded itunes I can't sync my iphone without first erasing everything that's on it. Sigh. Please help!!
    MM

Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device.  Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
Try move your iTunes library folder from old computer to the new one.

  • How do I sync voice memos from an iphone 4s to my PC?

i plugged in my phone via usb to my computer and then i authorised the computer for the phone
and now, I want to transfer the voice memos from my phone to my computer so that I can listen to it there
however whenever i click sync it says that i've synced the phone with another computer and the only way to sync is to erase everything on my phone which obviously defeats the purpose of me transferring my voice memos to my comp.
how can i change the settings or whatever to get the memos to my computer and allow me to sync without erasing everything?
is there any way without having to download some sketchy app to help me?
i just want to change the settings of my phone to sync with this computer and still have my voice memos.
any help would be greatly appreciated

To follow this user tip using iTunes 11, fist go to View>Show Sidebar.  Also, Transfer Purchases (step 5) is now in File>Devices.
If they're too large to email and you don't want to sync, the only other option is to use 3rd party software to transfer them using usb, such as PhoneView (Mac only) or Touch Copy (PC or Mac).
