How do you uninstall applications in OS X specifically classic (os 9)
how do you uninstall applications in OS X specifically classic (os 9)
Do you mean you want to remove Classic (OS 9)?
If so, there's not much to it. First, be sure you don't need, or plan to use any OS 9 or earlier applications. You'll need Classic to run them if you do. Second, back up any files created with those older apps if you need to.
Once you're ready, delete the following folders:
System Folder (NOT System. That's the OS X system folder.)
Applications (Mac OS 9) (NOT Applications. Those are the OS X apps.)
If OS X complains that it can't empty the trash because "items are in use", restart and you should then be able to empty the trash.

How do you uninstall applications from OS X?
I've been having problems with a couple of my applications, mainly Firefox (hangs, plus I prefer Safari anyway) and Office X (must be opened from the Applications folder and won't open by double-clicking on an Office document icon). I'd like to uninstall and then reinstall them, but I can't find any info anywhere (checked MS and Firefox sites as well as Apple OS X support site) on how to uninstall. (As you can tell I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to OS X.) Any help/advice would be appreciated!
Hi Catti,
Some applications have an uninstall option in the installer. You run the installer as if you were going to put the app on the drive and choose Uninstall instead.
For those that don't come with an uninstall program, you simply put the application in the trash. So put Firefox in the trash. Then press Command+F and enter "Firefox" as the search string to find any other pieces it created on the drive. For sure you'll find a .plist file (a preferences file) and maybe a couple of other small folders. Put those in the trash, also. That's it.
Office has its own uninstall application on the CD. Run that to remove all traces of Office. Don't worry about your e-mail database if you're using Entourage. It won't remove that. But make a copy of it to your desktop first just to be safe. -

How do you uninstall in a Mac?
Sorry, I am new with a Mac I only have experience with PCs.
If you install a software and then decide that you do not want it. How do you uninstall it?
Thank you!Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Most applications create preference files which are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can located them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.
There are also several shareware utilities that can uninstall applications:
AppZapper
CleanApp
Yank
SuperPop
Uninstaller
Spring Cleaning
Look for them at www.versiontracker.com or www.mackupdate.com.

Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS. Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a ".pkg" extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.

How do you uninstall Oracle 6i?
How do you uninstall Oracle 6i? There isn't an Oracle icon/logo under the Add/Remove Program utility nor is there an uninstall feature on the Oracle 6i program menu bar. Hopefully, there is a method to removing the software w/o digging through system directories and deleting Oracle related files. I'm an Oracle newbie, so take it easy on me.
Open Finder >> Applications >> Utilities >> Terminal
Now in Terminal type “ cd /Applications/” this will navigate you to Applications Directory
Now type “ sudo rm –rf iTunes.app/” this will delete iTunes from Mac OS X
Now you will be prompted to provide “Administrator Password”, Enter the same and confirm to remove iTunes from Mac OS X. -

How do you uninstall pop up ads
how do you uninstall pop up ads
There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
if it's not already checked. -

Logon to your Win 8.1 > press the Win logo key and R key . You are now at Run window> at the Run box type diskmgmt.msc > OK
You are now at Disk Management window > right click at the partition that house your Win 10 TP > click Delete Volume > the partition is now UNALLOCATED.
At the left of it is your Win 8.1 partition. Yes ?
If yes, right click at Win 8.1 partition > click Extend Volume > click Next > at Select the amount of space in MB, type in the maximum available space shown for the unallocated space in MB > Next > Finish
The space shrunk for Win 10 partition is now back to your Win 8.1 -
