How do you uninstall software? I have tried to download printer software that needs to be reinstalled and I cannot proceed until the original version is completely uninstalled.

I have installed printer software that needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled and I keep getting an error message saying that the application is running and needs to be closed before proceeding. I do not know how to close applications and uninstall software. Any help????

If its an actual application and appears as an icon in applications then click and hold over the icon and drag it to the trash can. That should uninstall it as far as I know.
If its like the HP printer software then there is an uninstalled icon within the folder.
