Mac computers have a different operating system than the iPad. Applications programmed for one will not run on the other, although some software developers make two very similar versions where one will run on each operating system. Clash of Clans has made versions for iOS and Android but not for the Macintosh or Windows computers.

How do you restore a 'new phone' from your previous phone iCloud?

I got a new iPhone 5 today after smashing the screen on my old one. I needed to use it straight away and wasn't connected to a wifi so i wasn't able to restore using iCloud, I set it up as a 'new phone'. How do I restore it now from my previous phone backup?

Restoring to an iCloud backup has to be done in the initial setup process. If you have any data on your phone now that is not in the backup that you want to save you'll need to do that first. Then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. You will then go through the setup screens as you did when the phone was new. When given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup (see image below). Be sure you are connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to finish.

How do you move an iPhoto library from a previous Mac?

I copied my iPhoto library from my MacBook onto a Passport and moved it onto the desktop of the new iMac. When I try to choose File - Import, the iPhoto library is greyed out, not available as a choice.

HT1904 How to you view the order number from a previous app purchase?

I need to get a refund for an accidental purchase I made but in order to email apple about my problem I need the order number for the product. I can't find out how to access it on my iPhone and have no access to a desktop computer. Please help because I need my money refunded as soon as possible.

If the previous owner has removed the iPad from their support profile (if they haven't then contact them and ask them to do so) then you should be able to add it to your profile : https://supportprofile.apple.com/ - when you've logged in there should be an 'Add Products' link/button at the bottom of the list of products that are currently on your profile

How do you unlink contents of dup Smart Object layer from it's Orig Layer?

Say you are in camera RAW and you open the image as a Smart Object.
THen duplicate that SO layer.
I want to edit the RAW settings on the duplicate SmartObject layer to be different than the original SO layer.
The problem is that when i do that, BOTH layers are updated with the most recent adjustment in RAW.
I want only one to change and the original to stay the same.
How do you unlink them so they act independent of one another when you edit the contents of the smart Object.

Yes, theres two cpmpletely different ways to duplicate Smart Objects. Command J or duplicate layer method which merely creates INSTANCES of the same Smart Object. This has a whole variety of different uses, and means that any edits to the smart object will reflect in all its instances.
To duplicate the CONTENTS of the object, there is only one way to do it and Doug has told you how.
Would be nice if command OPTION J did this as an alternative. And that there was some visual distinction in the layers panel between duplicated objects, objects with linked instances, and seperate objects.

And you set up your own new ID and account but can NOT access the updates, from the App store for the many apps that you already have, because they require that you sign in with that former now inaccessible ID and account and password? Call it a problem of modern times and changing relationships, if you want to be charitable.

So I guess it will only be new apps that I download that are allowed to give me their updates while 13 updates wait for me on an ID I can no longer access.

depend on the version of itunes and if it's OS X or windows i suppose
in itunes on ny computer in the upper right corner left of the search bar there is a circle with a black siloet and my name beside it

When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.
