How does one know if Adobe Acrobat is single or multiple users?

How can I find out out if my version is multiple or single user?   I have my serial number, have downloaded and use regularly acrobat but have a colleague in my office who needs now also.  Can he just download like I did from the original order?  Thanks in advance.

McKinnonnnyc you can determine if you have an individual license by viewing your serial number under your account at http://www.adobe.com/.  You can find more information at Find your serial number quickly - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html.
If you have a volume license serial number, and hence a serial number which can be used by multiple individuals, then the serial number and order would be available at https://licensing.adobe.com/.

  • How does one know whether or not they use "Java applets"?

The support doc for the recent Java update (Update 8, for Snow Leopard), entitled "About Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 8," advises the following:
If you do not use Java applets, it is recommended that you disable the Java web plug-in in your web browser.

    Thanks.

Sometimes you have to dig to find out: http://earthnow.usgs.gov/earthnow_app.html
doesn't tell you directly, but it is mentioned in the FAQ that Java is required. If the content is appropriate, you can always ask here.
Thanks.  According to that webpage, my "Java is out of date."  When an error message like that is returned, I guess it's clear that "it's a Java problem."  Presumably, one would then just go to java.com and download the applet if he/she wanted to view the webpage.
I was wondering more about situation when unexplained problems that involved missing Java applets weren't noted in error messages.
But maybe I'm worrying about something that doesn't really need to be worried about.

  • HT5243 How does one know if they use "java applets"? What do they do? How will I know if I need to 'disable the java web plug-in browser' if I do not use them? ( I'm not very literate in computer-speak.

Well, when you go to a web page a section of the web page will have a coffee cup picture where the java applet will run. The applet loads then runs. If you are not seeing this behavior then you are not using java. If it make you feel more comfortable then disable the browser java plugin. On my machine I have not disable java- but you
    may what to.

    Hi JF BONNAM,
Please see Acrobat.com Help | Using Adobe Send for some great how-to information on using Adobe Send. In particular, the "Viewing a file's tracking information" section describes how you can tell who's viewed or downloaded your sent files.

  • How does one know if Flash is legitimate?

This is mainly a paranoid question, but how do I know if a Flash installer is legitimate?
When I opened Safari today, I got prompted to update Flash. However, the window prompting the Flash update could have been launched from some open browser tab in Safari or another browser, couldn't it? So when I look at the window that prompts me to upgrade, what could I use as a sign to tell that this is a valid legitimate request to update?
As I am paranoid, I cancelled the update process and went to adobe.com and downloaded the update from there. In that way I at least know the origin of the file. However, surely that should not be necessary. Surely there is a way to recognise a legitimate update prompt?

Only EVER download Flash Player from Adobe's own website.
Two bugs, one affecting Apple's Mac platform and another attacking Microsoft's Windows, exploit certain Flash player vulnerabilities to install malware onto users' systems, reports ArsTechnica. While users of other operating systems like Linux have yet to report attacks, Adobe's advisory notes the exploit affects all platforms.
Designated as CVE-2013-0634, the first vulnerability targets the Safari and Firefox Web browsers running on OS X, and is also being used as a trojan to deploy Microsoft Word documents containing malware. For Mac users, the flaw affects Adobe Flash Player version 11.5.502.146 or earlier.
The Adobe Flash patch can be found on the company's website, and users can visit this page to check if their software is the most curent 11.5.502.149 version.

  • How do I know what Adobe Acrobat License # is installed on my computer?

I need to deactivate some of our licesnes to install on new machines, some are in use, some are on machines thatr we no longer have. I need to figure out which ones are in use and can't find this on the computer or the ADBOBE self-help site.

Do you have a volume license? Are you using a license server. It you are more than a couple of users, the volume license is not only cheaper but is easier to maintain in situations like this.

New hard drive installed today and guess what that means???
I am having a few issues with getting into My Adobe but when I did, I saw all my pretty serial numbers there and on and on but as was suggested, there is no download button to use for a dreaded reinstallation of all your photo editing programs. Had no issues with Topaz and Nik Collection...only seems to be Adobe. I have/use PS Elements 11 (and 13, but hate 13)...also LR 5..is it 5 now? Anyway, I need them, pretty bad.Four days without editing something can make a person insane.
If ANYONE can help a girl out, I'd be forever grateful.

  • How does Siri know where my office is

Ok I just got my iPhone 4s and I can't work out how to get Siri to remind me to do something when I get to the office.
How does Siri know when I'm at the office
How does Siri know I'm at home
How does Siri know I am at a particular place.
I know how to get Siri to do a reminder by using time, but the adverts say "office" so how does it know
Any help appreciated for a new 4s user :-)

Put your office location in your contacts by itself with a label of office or work. Or associate it as office or work like you do with wife and kids and such.

  • How can I know the security role of the logged in user

When you design an enterprise bean or Web component, you should always think about the kinds of users who will access the component. For example, an Account enterprise bean might be accessed by customers, bank tellers, and branch managers. Each of these user categories is called a security role, an abstract logical grouping of users that is defined by the person who assembles the application. When an application is deployed, the deployer will map the roles to security identities in the operational environment.
But wondering when I log into my application with some user name and password (specified in my Oracle database),wondering how this works with the security role I created .How does J2EE know the security role of the logged in user.
    Thanks

When I login say as "manju" and password as "money" then how does it know that this user belongs to this security role.Is that the j2ee administrator has to say that user manju has this this security role.Programmitically how does it really work.I am confusedThe j2ee implementation assigns the roles using the JAAS module you have configured for your application on your application server. different JAAS modules get roles in different ways. many allow a single static role to be assigned using a config file. if using a database, often there will be configuration to specify additional database fields which specify the role for a given username.
At runtime, a developer can test roles using methods like EJBContext.isCallerInRole().

  • How does one convert an HP/Adobe scan into editable WordPerfect?

How does one convert an HP/Adobe scan into editable WordPerfect?
The writer does not understand computer-eze.  Please explain in simple English.

You can try using Adobe ExportPDF (https://www.acrobat.com/exportpdf/en/home.html) though it only produces Microsoft Word files. If WordPerfect can import .docx files, that will work. Note that the ability for ExportPDF to convert the file depends on the quality of the scan. If it's hard for ExportPDF to interpret the scan due to smudges, fuzziness, etc., it cannot do a very good job.

In my experience, I simply drag an asset onto the Library in one app, and it is there in my other apps.  But I have to make sure I am looking at the same library name on both computers.  Now I have been confused over syncing before, but I suspect that if you open the Application Manager and click on the little Cog icon, and in the Files tab make sure Sync is checked.  Otherwise you might as well read the help files.
