How does the "Windows 10 is free for its 1st year" offering affect licensing for enterprise customers paying Software Assurance?

At the keynote on 21 January 2015, there was an announcement that Windows 10 was going to be a free upgrade for the first year of its release.
As an enterprise customer,  I'd like to know about the impact of this announcement on Software Assurance. How is the cost of Windows changing for the enterprise?

To sum it up SUBSCRIPTION FEE. for each computer in your enterprise this make more sense then what we have seen in the years. In sales we are starting to see free one year software, that requires to sign up for that free one year use, I am certain this

You are entitled to your opinion, that doesn't make it correct.
Personally, I'll go with Ed Bott since he has a much closer relationship
with Microsoft than you do:

"One thing's for certain: you won't have to pay Microsoft an additional
license fee. Microsoft's business model isn't changing. The upgrade is a
perpetual license that's good for the supported life of the PC, and there's
no plan at this time to offer Windows as a subscription."

  • How does the window selected on the spectral measurements express vi affect the output?

I'm using the spectral measurements express vi to find the power spectral density of a fairly broadband signal. I've already discovered a bug in the express vi; it doesn't divide the power spectrum by the equivalent noise bandwith for the window as it should. However, even after taking this into account by using the scaled time window vi to divide this factor out, the PSD is still changing with the window. How can I get the PSD to be constant with varying windows??

I would like you to prove the "bug" that you're describing by creating an example that shows the calculated and the expected results. By opening the code of the "Spectral Measurements" Express VI you can dig into the heart of the calculation, and there (in the "ma_FFT Power Spectrum and PS Density no State.vi") you will see that the Power Spectral Density indeed IS calculated by using the formula PSD = (Power Spectrum/(df*Noise Power BW of Window)). See the attached PSD.jpg that shows where the calculation happens.
The Power Spectral Density is supposed to be dependant of the chosen Window. Please read chapter 5 "Smoothing Windows" in the "La
    bVIEW Analysis Consepts" manual.

  • How does the ASA handle Host Headers for a webserver

If I have an IIS webserver with multiple private IP address, and a site assigned to each of these private IPs. I have defined all internal private IPs in the ASA and now I want to map 1 public IP to all sites on these different private IP's but need to use port 80, is this possible?

I know this is a old thread and maybe no one is watching it anymore but I'm going to be dealing with a similar situation and trying to sort it out.  All my past experience is with non-Cisco products so I a not familiar with ASA (yet).
In the original question here I think it is complicated by having multiple private IPs on the *same* web server. This should not really be. Since it is one server it can do fine with multple sites all runing on the same port 80 and the same IP# as long as they are separated via Host Headers.  If this were done then the question to me would be "Does the ASA retain the hostHeader when it passed the traffic back to the web server?" If the answer to that is "Yes" then the problem is solved.  The ASA does not need to "care" about individual web sites,...all it has to do is take whatever comes in on the Public IP on port 80 and send it back the the Web server on port 80 at whatever Single IP# it is (should be) running and then the Web Server software "sorts it out" and picks the correct web site to feed it to.
Would this be a correct way to look at it?

I can't seem to find any documentation for this. What code is required & how do I set this up please?

As mentioned in the other post,
It is a tick and a tag that is true or false.
You have to manually change the product price to indicate it is lower price and then use the tag and CSS to style. It is not what your thinking it is with dynamic price changing

  • How does the CBO calculate the selectivity for range predicates on ROWID ?

    Hi all,
I'm wondering how the CBO estimate the selectivity for range predicates based on ROWID columns.
For example, for the following query the CBO estimates there's going to be 35004 rows returned instead of 7:

Case 1 - . If you check Plan hash value: 16772749938
    =====
TABLE ACCESS BY ROWID RANGE| INTSFI  For every row access from INTSFI - it fetches a record from INDEX UNIQUE SCAN | PURMAR1
    If we check A-rows = 9226
9226 * 7 = 64582 request across the table - perhaps with hint of rowid it fetches exact rows from PURMAR1
in this case i think going for hash join with ordered hints (jonathan as you suggest go for leading hint's instead of ordered) - from INTSFI - PURMAR1 - instead of going for IN clause would get the rows that satifies the ("P"."NUPUR"=1 AND "I"."COMAR"="P"."COMAR")

It requires a password to restore from it because at some point, you checked the box in iTunes to use encrypted backups, at which point you were prompted for, and set a password.
If you now can't remember what that was, then you can not restore from that backup.

  • How does the field ABGRU-Reason for Rejection get populated in routines

    Hi All,
How does the field ABGRU-Reason for Rejection get populated in routines(VOFM)?
BELNR,KPOSN,etc...fields are populated through KOMK and KOMP structures, similar way what structure is used for ABGRU?
by the time the control from VA01 comes to routine the values of VBAK and VBAP are cleared, so these structures like KOMP and KOMK are used.
    Thanks in advance.

You need to add rejection reason field ABGRU as a new field to pricing field catalog (KOMG structure) through APPEND structure KOMPAZ. KOMG inherits new fields from KOMKAZ (for header level fields) or KOMPAZ (for item level fields) structures and it is not directly modified but through KOMKAZ and KOMPAZ structures
Since VBAP-ABGRU can vary from item to item, add it to item pricing communication structure KOMPAZ in SE11. Once KOMPAZ is added with new ABGRU field and activated it will automatically appear in pricing field catalog (KOMG)
Afterwards the ABGRU field will then start to appear in the field catalog where you can create condition table (V/03) including the ABGRU as a field. Once done the rest is assigning the condition table to access sequence which is in turn assigned to the relevant condition type that you want to price based on partner function (all under IMG -> SD -> Basic functions -> Pricing -> Pricing control)
In the pricing user exit userexit_pricing_prepare_tkomp in include MV45AFZZ, you will need a few lines of coding to fetch VBAP-ABGRU for the item and pass it to tkomp-abrug field. This will then be used by system to read the new condition table that you created.
    tkomp-abgru= xvbap-abgru
So if you populate special pricing based on ABGRU (with possibly other conditions) in the condition table then that condition record will be read for the corresponding condition type.
You would of course need a developer to modify KOMPAZ structure and code the user exit for moving the rejection reason to tkomp
That is in short how you can achieve this

Isn't Outlook simply an email client or a software application on a computer? You can add an email account - whatever email provider that you use - right on the iPad. You can sync your Outlook contacts and calendar if that is what you are asking about, but Outlook itself has nothing to do with the iPad.

  • For encrypted flows, how does the MPLS do the QOS?

After encrypting the data, send them to MPLS, how does the MPLS do the QOS?

    Hi,
the IPSec standard mandates, that the ToS Byte from the original header is copied to the new IPSec header. So if your IP packets are already marked everything is straight forward - MPLS does not make any difference. For the MPLS network it will be just marked IP packets and the marking is copied to the MPLS experimental bits. QoS policies within an MPLS core only use experimental bits only.
