How Health App chooses between Apple Watch and iphone

For step counter, the Health App seems to pick up both steps measured by the Watch and iPhone. Even I put Watch on the top of the phone as the source, the Health app picks up duplicated data from Watch and iPhone if I carry both of them. Is there a way to fix that? Cause the data actually is very misleading.
PS. Another interesting thing is that sometimes watch and iPhone measure the same number of steps and sometimes they don't and my little test shows that iPhone actually more accurate.

I have the same issue, but my iPhone actually has fewer steps counted. I did a dumb test to count steps myself and looks like my iPhone has more accurate steps. The thing bothering me most is the Health app picks steps from iphone and watch. It doesn't recognize sometimes the data is duplicated.

  • Can't get Apple watch and iPhone 5S to communicate over wifi.  Any suggestions?

one feature of the watch I'm very interested in is the ability for it to communicate over wifi to my phone.  Put the phone down or be charging it in another room and still use the watch. So far it works fine Bluetooth but I haven't had any success wifi.  Phone is definitely connected wifi.  i don't see any options on the watch or watch app on the phone that would address this .  Anyone have any ideas?

    According to this:
    https://support.apple.com/kb/PH20767
If your Apple Watch and iPhone are on the same network but aren’t connected by Bluetooth, you can also do the following on Apple Watch without iPhone:
Send and receive messages using iMessage
Send and receive Digital Touch messages
    Use Siri
It implies you should get iMessage but not email.

  • Difference between apple watch and apple watch sport

Okay so that's pretty obvious from the features page on Apple's website, HOWEVER, which one is better for everyday use? How does the Apple Watch vs. Apple Watch Sport perform daily in terms of resistance (which scratches easier, etc.). It explained stuff on the page but I don't exactly understand it... Also which is more likely to cost more due to materials (again somewhat unaware of these things). Basically the Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport explained in terms of day-to-day usage for the average user

Oh okay. I was just hoping that based on knowing what the materials are made of you could get a "feel" of what would happen in day-to-day
Your guess is as good as mine.

  • How do I exactly use Apple Watch with iPhone?

In iOS 8.2's Apple Watch app, the iPhone must be connected to Wifi or Cellular Data and Bluetooth. They must be connected to pair with the Watch. Lets say I've paired the Watch. If I disconnect the Wifi or Cellular Data, will the Apple Watch stop pairing?
How ow will I get phone calls and messages on the Watch?

  • Apple watch and iPhone show different step counts

When I look at the activity app on my watch and on my phone, they show a different number of steps. For the most part i've been walking with both my phone and watch, so I'm wondering why the number doesn't sync between the two. Obviously on the phone its including some additional steps that it is counting that the watch didn't get. I have not calibrated it yet (doing a workout with the GPS on the phone). When I look at the raw data int he Health app, the phone is obviously counting a couple more steps each time. Is this something other people are encountering or will it fix once I've calibrated it?

I have the same issue, but my iPhone actually has fewer steps counted. I did a dumb test to count steps myself and looks like my iPhone has more accurate steps. • How to share music between my ipad and iPhone

How to share music between iPad and iPhone

Sync both devices to the same iTunes Library on your computer. Or just re-download iTunes Store purchased music from the Purchased tab in iTunes using the same AppleID.

  • Can the reminders app sync between an ipad and iphone 5

When looking in settings, then in Icloud.  it shows that it will sync.
however it does not seem to sync with my iphone 5.
    Any help would be great.

Check to see if all your contacts are correct on iCloud.com from a web browser on your MacBook.
Is so then on your MacBook:
System Preferences > iCloud > uncheck Contacts, wait for it to finish then check it again.
    This should force a re-push from iCloud.com

  • HT204791 Notifications on both apple watch and phone?

Is there any way to have notifications like iMessage or Text message go to both the Apple Watch and iPhone?
For example I have my watch only giving Haptic notifications so not to annoy me or anyone. I would like to have my notifications on both because when I have my phone setup for notifications with sound it is nice to hear them and look. Now with my watch it seems like all my notifications only on my watch because my iPhone is usually in "sleep" unless I was using it.

I agree completely, I think the user having the option to have notifications on both devices would be great.  I'm not always aware of the haptic on my watch, also like having the sound show up on my phone (especially if I'm not in the same room with my phone), plus the alert that shows on the face as well.  This would be an excellent software update!

  • How does iPad choose between wifi and 3G when both are 'on'?

    Easy peasy question.
I have 02 and Wifi going on my iPad. I know I can use 02 out and about and I know I can use wifi at home etc.
But when I'm at home how do I make sure I'm using my wifi for data and not my cellular connection???
I've been turning my cellular to 'off' when at home, just in case, but I don't want to have the faff of turning it off and on, so it would be nice to know how the iPad chooses between wifi and 3G when both data access points are active.
Also I've had no wifi troubles at home at all. so far... The acid test will be setting it up at work as they have proxyies for everything, but obviously I don't have proxies at home. I'm not sure if the settings screen can cope with different proxies dependent upon different wifi networks... * grin *

In the status bar I have
a signal strength indicator then 'O2-UK' then the 'fan' No mention of 3G.
I'm guessing you're going to say that when 3G is showing then 3G is being used for data?

    Hi,

If that is Adobe Reader you need to sign-in in Adobe Id and password and that should be it.

  • How do I remove the apple ID and password request when I open my apps and mail? it belongs to my daughter's itunes account

How do I remove the apple ID and password prompt that appears frequently. It is prepopulated with an account for my daughter and not one I need on the IPAD...

Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap on her ID and sign out. Them sign in with your own ID.
If there are apps on your iPad (and I assume that there must be) that your daughter purchased with her ID - they can only be updated by using her ID.
