How i can disable the 'about:newtab' page on Firefox 9 a1 (UX)?

I want to disable the 'about:newtab' page when I open a new tab, How i can do it?

That doesn't look like it's related to the subject of this thread.
BTW: Firefox 12+ versions have a browser.newtabpage.enabled pref to disable the about:newtab page. 
The default of that pref in Firefox 12 (currently Beta) is false and is true in Firefox 13 (currently Aurora).

Can't load about:newtab page in new tab

Hello,
A recent hack attack from Bing has reset the value in browser.newtab.url to their search page. I keep trying to reset it to about:newtab but when I click OK the URL remains the same and my changes are ignored. What can I do about this? I really want my newtab page back.

How do I disable the genieo search page?

I have a three (or more) button mouse, and have had for years.
Many applications and website need to use the Ctrl key as a modifier for certain actions. However, on my Mac trying to do this always brings up the bloody right-click pop-up menu.
I do not need the Ctrl-click command, but can find no way to turn it off. Does anyone know how this can be done? Or is there some shareware/freeware app I can download to turn off this annoying feature (similar to Cocktail, or other utilities)?

If any Mac apps are using control-clicks for something other than contextual menus, I'd be surprised. Of course, seems to me that if an app's developers want to use control-click for something else, it would either work, and you wouldn't have a problem, or it wouldn't work, and thus the app wouldn't use control-click that way.
Which means I'm not sure I understand your problem. When you say things are using "the Ctrl key as a modifier", what exactly does that mean, and how is that colliding with a control-click? What applications and web sites are the culprits?

From what I have read the extension that handles the USB is
/System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext
It is owned by root so you will need to use that permission when manipulating it.

My workaround...
- Convert Vedio to SWF (using Media Encoder + Flash Pro or 3rd party utilities)
- Import the SWF Video to Acrobat
- In the "Edit SWF" -> "SWF" -> Select "Pass context menu click to SWF"
- Assign Document Permission to lock the setting
The playback control will pass to Flash Player, it will disable the "View in Floating Windows" and "Full Scrren MultiMedia"

HOW DO I DISABLE THE "PREVENT THIS PAGE FROM OPENING ADDITIONAL DIALOG BOXES" OPTION ONCE SELECTED?

I clicked 'OK' thinking it reated to a specific dialog box, but now need it reversed.

This should work if you reload the page and bypass the cache.
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)

How do I disable the plug-in checker at Firefox (3.6) startup?

There was a previous thread on this topic, but it was closed before it was answered. Even though I have an older version of Firefox, Mozilla has changed it so as to start a plug-in check screen every time I open Firefox. It is really annoying, since all my plug-ins are up to date, and Firefox starts with the update tab instead of my home page tab. Please tell me how to disable this!!!!

Madperson, I'd be perfectly happy with Mozilla not supporting version 3.6 if they would actually leave their fingers off it. This plug-in checker screen on startup just started a couple of weeks ago, long after they supposedly ceased supporting it. One reason I don't want to switch is that some of my add-ons don't work with the newer versions of Firefox (which, unfortunately, we have on our other home computer). Whatever my reasons, Mozilla should not be purposely trying to make things more difficult.
And james, no it's not a compatibility checker, the one that shows up every time a new version is downloaded and installed. It's a screen (evidently not pushed onto your firefox) that lists all plug-ins (like Java) and whether or not they've been updated to the latest version. Once, OK, but it happens everytime I start (even though everything is updated). How would you like it if you expected your home screen and every time you got, say, a knitting site (or pick something else that might be more irrelevant) that you had to close before you could start to work?

How do I disable the MP3Tube tool bar when Firefox opens? I have already unchecked it in the views menu, under toolbar. It disappears when I do that, but comes back every time I reopen Firefox.

When I log on to Firefox, the home page displays a tool bar called "MP3 Tube" powered by Yahoo. I would like to remove that toolbar permanently from my start up page. I have tried to uncheck it in the View menu under Toolbars, but it reappears every time I log off and log back on to Firefox.

How do I keep the new tab page thumbnails visible even after deleting my browser history?

Every time I delete my browser history, I notice thumbnails of my pinned sites on the new tab page disappear. Is there a way around that; or something that can be done so it doesn't occur in future versions of Firefox?

Current Firefox versions use a separate thumbnails folder to store those images, so clearing the cache should no longer make them disappear. 
However clearing the history will prevent any slots from retaining the URL. 
If you want specific pages to show on the about:newtab page then you can drag a bookmark or history link into a slot to pin a web page.
Do any of the slots have an URL displayed under the image placeholder?

Note that your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time Firefox starts.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there.
You can check its content with a plain text editor (right-click: Open with) if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.
