  • Converting Nokia N95 MP4 videos for use with Premiere Pro?

What would you say the best way to convert Nokia N95 MP4 videos for use with Premiere Pro is?

  • Export of Elements 12 Project for use in Premiere Pro

Hello. Simply (or not so simply), I just want to know if I can export a Premiere Elements 12 Project for use in Premiere Pro CS6 or CC. I would like some form of verification such as a page in a manual or a link to a web page. Just getting the answer "Yes" will not do. Sorry but this has been very difficult to locate and am concerned it can't happen.
    Thanks,
    BK

"Adobe's target audience is just not likely to later need to edit a Project in a professional NLE."
Thanks Bill and I understand. However, given the current choices of NLE's today and many Professional Users "scrambling" to find replacements for FCP7 and "aging" Avid, I would think that the workflow I'm suggesting might be a cost effective and viable alternative that Adobe should consider very seriously. If it was never brought to their attention before, I'm mentioning it now!
If we can avoid the cost of putting PrPro into the hands of Preditors and leave the Pro Finishing to the real Pros, that would be very helpful not only financially but it would make learning and working with the software much easier for them using Elements.
So, I guess the only way to find out if this works, is to download the trial versions of each and have at it.
Unless someone out there already has both of the most current versions and is willing to try this?
Either way, I'll have to find out sooner or later because we are moving to Pro eventually.
    Thanks again,

  • Mac OSX v10.6.5: How's it working for you with Premiere Pro CS5?

If you've installed Mac OSX v10.6.5, let us know how it's working for you.
Please make sure that you're using the most recent update for Premiere Pro CS5 before you report back. We don't want to waste our time disentangling problems that were actually fixed in Premiere Pro CS5 (5.0.2) from issues that still exist.

    So, here is my experience:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/751458?tstart=0
    Basically:
Premiere Pro does not want to play the timeline (or the source window) anymore.  Sometime it plays for 2 minutes, sometime for 2 seconde and then stops, but most of time, it wont play at all.
I can scroll over my timeline (no sound scrolling), but when I hit space bar (or clic on the play button) I can see the play button turning into a square (which mean it's now the stop button), but the timecodes doesn't run and the image doesn't play.
So I suggest people to not being stupid as I was and to wait before to update... And hope a solution to come soon.

  • Sizing of still images for use in Premiere Pro editing.

I use Premiere Pro 5.5. I use format: AVCHD 1080i25(50i) Anamorphic for my editing (I have a Canon Legria Camera). My current stills are resized to 800x 600. When I insert in to the sequence and play it, they fall outside the safety margins. I read the Adobe help notes on this topic and resized (if memory serves 32000x32000 was mentioned) This didn't work. I also tried 2200x 1200 but this still fell out of the safety margin. Even toggling the still in the timeline didn't work. Any advice on sizing? Many thanks

I agree with Ann. This ARTICLE goes into more detail on Scaling Still Images, and shows how to Automate to Batch w/ Actions in Photoshop, and also in Photoshop Elements. One can do an entire folder full of images in but moments.
Note: the article was done, when SD was the common Project, i.e. before HD gained popularity. Disregard the Frame Sizes in the early parts, as those pixel x pixel dimensions are for SD. Discussions on HD Projects follows pretty closely, as will some discussion by Todd Kopriva, on how things changed in PrPro, as of CS 5.

  • What is the optimum still image size for use in Premiere Pro?

I'm pretty new to Premiere Pro so please excuse any extreme stupidity.
I'm creating a film comprised of various interview footage. I intend to drop in stills (and possibly scan and pan around on them). The still images are coming from various sources and will have been shot on various formats.
I requested high res images but have been asked what size I want the images to be in mm. Can anyone advise?
The resulting film will be shown on Vimeo and on a website, but there is also further scope for high def projection possibly.  The film is HD 1080x1920
    Any advice greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Make sure that whoever is supplying stills is measuring them in PIXELS. Not MM, not Inches, not DPI - but PIXELS. Nothing else matters in video.
Your "canvas" in Premiere will be 1920x1080 pixels (for 1080 HD), so that is the minimum size any still ought to be in order to fill the frame without having to scale it up (quality loss). Of course, if the image is portrait-style, then it will NOT fill the frame, but rather will have black on the sides, or replacement background as others have suggested. In that case, make sure that the height is then at least 1080 pixels (width will be narrower than 1920).
You said you wanted to pan and scan, like Ken Burns, so then you'd want images larger than the 1920x1080, such as the 3456x2304 that was suggested. This allows you to zoom in to some degree using available pixels in the image without actually upscaling the image at all. The more you wish to zoom in, the more pixels you need to accomplish that without degrading the quality by "blowing up" the image.
    Good luck

  • Export graphic for use in Premiere Pro Cs4

Hey everyone, I have made some wiring diagrams in AI CS4 and need to have them apear in a DVD, I have tried several cominations and they are not clear on the video.  My settings are RGB, DV NTSC Widescreen, have exported for Web and Devises and in Tiff & Targa 72 & 300 DPI.  The diagram has text that looks fine in all the stills but in Premiere and the exported video the images look like a poor photo copy.  Thought I'd start here before asking in PPro.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Mmh, differences between versions aside, you are pretty much getting what you are asking. Any compressed format will have a hard time with perependicular lines and lots of high fequency detail (text, the coil spirals). There's really no way to avoid that otehr than to draw thr graphic differently, i.e. not use straight lines and a different way of presenting the text callouts. Also, you could massively improve perception by having the graphic move with a simple slow pan. the motion will lead to a more favorable distribution of the pixels across the scanlines, as the content changes every frame and in addition, motion blur will help to reduce flicker. Lastly, give the graphic some finesse by perhaps making the lines white and adding a dark outer glow to separate them from the background. these blended areas also help to reduce artifacts that appear with harsh transitions on straight lines. If it's an option , you might even want to use color for the + and - cabling (usually blue and red). As Wade suggested, you might try rendering to a different spec, but depending on what your intended final output is, this may not help at all, so working a bit on the graphic might pay off more.

  • What is the ideal monitor for use with Premiere Pro CC?

I am looking for a new monitor in the 27-28" range.  I edit mostly HD content, but also some 4K.  My price range is up to $1,200.

For HD you should consider the Dell UltraSharp U2413 it is a 10-bit monitor with 100% coverage of sRGB and has a built-in hardware 14-bit LUT. With just a little bit of work you can get it to a pretty much perfect broadcast output. It is only 24", but it is 1920x1200 so the output is true pixel to pixel, which I find is more important than size. You can get it for under $500.
For 4K you could go with the UP2414Q or if you prefer 27" over 24", the P2715Q. Although the P2715Q is not a "Premier Color" monitor, it still gives you a 10-bit display and 99% sRGB coverage.

  • Premiere Pro CC & AME CC crash on startup (after installing Encore CS6)

    Hi guys,
Yesterday Premiere Pro CC was working correctly. I installed the Premiere Pro CS6 family, uninstalled Premiere Pro CS6 to preserve Encore CS6, and then arrived this morning to a machine that wouldn't run either Premiere Pro CC or Encore CS6.
Here's what I've done, and I'm still experiencing crashing on startup.
UPDATE #1: It's worth noting that Premiere Pro CC starts correctly when I logon as a new user, yet I've checked all preferences and my permissions are all set to read and write.
UPDATE #2: Adobe Media Encoder also crashes upon startup. How about some help?
UPDATE #3: I've reinstalled all 23 CC apps and run the Adobe CC Cleaner. Still nothing.
    Unintalled Encore CS6
Uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere Pro CC
Deleted the preferences upon startup by pressing the SHIFT key
Looked into error 0xc000000 - this is not in my crash log so unhelpful
Looked at all the permissions of my library and preference files
I can't find any other options close to a solution in the forums.

  • How to Import Chapter Names Created in Premiere Pro CS6 to Encore CS6?

I edited a sequence in Prmiere Pro CS6 and then I created and named all my Encore Chapter Markers while still in Ppro. I then opened Encore CS6 and used the Adobe Dynamic Link to import my Premiere Pro CS6 sequence into Encore CS6 and created a new timeline from that sequence. I imported a Menu (which I created in Photoshop) and linked the first chapter to button 1 in my menu and then used Create Chapter Index to bhild all the menus. How do I get the Chapter names to automatically appear in these menus without having to retype each one?

Select a button and look at properties. Check the option "Set Name From Link." You can select multiple buttons and do them at one go.

The user guide http://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/encore_reference.pdf does not have any reference to that

  • Whenever I use Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014, My macbook occasionally re-boots automatically! Any idea why and how to fix it?

I am using a Macbook Pro 15" late 2013 model, and it works great. However, when I use Adobe Premiere Pro (which is a lot as I am studying editing) it occasionally freezes for a second then reboots itself. I got the details of the error and pasted them into this document[1] if it is of any help.
The edition of premiere is new as I used to work with CS5 and recently upgraded in the last few weeks. If anyone could help resolve the issue, that would be great!
