How to access a query via MS Access?

Hello BI experts,
we created a query in BI 7.0 and activated the option "Release for OLE DB for OLAP" (=ODBO). It's no problem to access this query via MS Excel 2003.
But now we have the requirement to access this query via MS Access 2003. Is there a way to do this?
MS Access 2003 has no ODBO driver. Only connectivity to ODBC is supported.
Has anyone of you a solution?

So, I want to give an access ONLY to a several MAC addresses which I'll write in some ?list?. And I don't know why you are telling me this. Whether you use a DSN or DSNless connection you're still using the bridge and it's totally irrelevent to your question.
And to be perfectly clear DSN or DSNless has NOTHING to do with the JDBC driver type. Again not relevent here but might as well get that straightened out as well while you're here.

I mean this is the way you solve all programming problems. Repeat. Use a loop or something. Whatever fits your purpose.

How to execute a SQL Query in Ms-Access

Hi,
I've a query which fetches the data from the tables based on daily transactions.
I mean, the data gets updated daily basis.
Now, i want to send the user a Ms-access work sheet with the query written, so that when ever the query is executed, it would fetch the records (with latest updates).
I found some documents in google to, how to write sql query in ms-access.
How ever, i'm unable to find the connection setup.
how do i connect to oracle database using ms-access??

Basically steps include,
Install and configure Oracle client
Configure ODBC DSN using correct TNS name configured in first step
Link the table from Msaccess, make sure you linked the table not import it.

There is no such account. The iPod is really a one-user device

Finding query access frequency or how many times a query has been executed?

Dear Experts
I need to find the total number of access frequency of individual queries that are requested by the users say at a particular time.
Say there are 20 distinct queries requested in the time difference of 3 hours. All of the 20 queries or some of the queries may be requested for more than 2/3 times at that time by other users. By the way say query Q1 is requested 5 times at that so its query access frequency or how many times this query is executed is 5.
From where and how can I can find this counting of query access frequency or how many times a query has been executed at particular time or a session?
Normally we know the there SQL history dynamic performance views or if it can be possible to query the Shared pool library cache for SQL area it may be possible to find the total number of execution time for a query. But how to find that if anyone knows, please help me about this.

That's one of the stats reported by statspack - assuming that your query does sufficient work to meet the thresholds for the standard report. Executions is of course one of the columns of v$sql so you might just wish to sample that yourself. Finally if you are on 11g and the sql you are interested is relatively low resource intensive and you are licensed for AWR then you can use the slightly madly named "colored sql" feature that ensures that a specific statement will always be sampled for AWR.

I saw the note Note 962530 - NW04s: How to restrict access to Query
Designer 2004s , where in alternative solution there is the approach on
how to create a database table and modify the function module to control the access.
However, we need to a security profile check that can prevent or allow
who can access 04s tools. Because this is easy to maintain and we don't need to modify the database table time to time.
Please update if it is feasible to have a check within the profile
of the users to acces 04s query desinger. This way we can control
effectively who can access new tools.

I can suggest that as this is a Security you might wanna ask the Person who is handling Security in your office.
He can add different Roles which can then control their acess.
For e.g. if you want that your user should be able to run Specific Queries a,b,c,d created by you.
I will suggest interact with SEcurity Personal and ask him to create a Role X.
You can then publish your queries in Role X.
So your users will have acess and security for X and they will then run the queries from them.
Likewise, different other options are also there.
If your queries are on Planning cube then things like giving them acess to Tools should take place similarly in different fashion.
Your user can also use Query desinger and can opne queries from Roles .

Hello. I have developed my project as 2 Components ( A and B). I have created a Search Record and a Component Interface for each Component.
Now, a push button in a page in Component A needs to access all pages in Component B via its Component Interface. What are the steps to do for Component A to access Component B via their Component Interface ?

You could define the PeopleCode to make the Component Interface work on the FieldChange event of that push button you were talking about, but it would be better to put your PeopleCode in a Save event. To do that, you would use the DoSaveNow() function on the button's FieldChange event. Then, that would trigger a save, and you could put your code on the SavePostChange of any field or on the Component itself.
Once you decide on an event, the easiest way to start is to open the blank PeopleCode window. Also, place the Component Interface in your project. Next, drag the Component Interface from the Project and drop it into your PeopleCode editor window. This will generate a bunch of PeopleCode that you can use as a starting place.
The Component Interface allows you to remote control a component as if your code were a user sitting at the Browser. So, when coding the program that uses the Component Interface, you have to have that mindset. It helps me to open a browser and walk through what I want my code to do. Then, I code each step as I do it online.
There is probably a lot more that you need to know, but is this a good starting point? Is it somewhat on track with what you were asking? Let me know were to go from here with more information.

You can access the SAP ABAP system by configuring it in the NW ES admin console, any system with version > 4.6C can be integrated in the search engine.
The UI for NW ES is a WebDynpro via Web Browser (In the future will be integrated in Widgets and Portal, etc) but i'm not sure if you want to use the WS to access the results of the ES searching or if you want to integrate a WS from ABAP as part of the searching area...
