How to access Navigation result from a bean

Hi
I am working on a website being developed in JSF. Right now we have a header, footer and body (kind of like tiles). The header and footer is same and only body changes. We do <jsp:include to include the header and footer.
Test1.jsp {
     <jsp:include page=Header.jsp />
    <jsp:include page=body.jsp />
    <jsp:include page=footer.jsp />
}Since the header and footer are to be shown in each and every page, I have to include them in each page. So what we decided to do was to use a bean which would find out what is the next page to be displayed and show it like this...
<jsp:include page=Header.jsp />
<jsp:include page=<%=mybean.nextPage%> />
<jsp:include page=footer.jsp />But because of this our users will not be able to configure the navigation rules in faces-config.xml.
Is there any way we can centralize the header and footer and other common elements and just change the body of the page using navigation rules defined in faces-config.xml.
Any other suggestions or ideas are also greatly appreciated.

Hi Starter,
a quick rundown of the way we solved this:
faces-config.xml does specify our navigation
the url's that are mentioned in these navigation rules point to JSP with content like this
<jsp:forward page="/parts/page_layout.jsp">
<jsp:param name="page_id" value="v_zoeken"/>
<jsp:param name="main_pane" value="/page/v_zoeken_pane.jsp"/>
</jsp:forward>
page_layout.jsp includes a header, footer etc. and functions as a template.
v_zoeken_pane.jsp is the 'embedded' JSF page that changes. It is included in the page_layout.jsp like this
<jsp:include page='<%=request.getParameter("main_pane")%>'/>
Unfortunately the 'template' can only contain one JSF page because of a bug in <f:subview/> in JSF RI 1.0

What is the need to search for a program.
Use transaction SM30 or SE16 to create or maintain entries in the table.
e.g. if the Maintenance view is created on table A, then Goto transaction SM30 or SE16 and give the table name as A and proceed. This will automatically take u to the maintenance view on tha table A.

Thanks for the suggesstion :)..It worked as well.
The Actual problem was in the "tnsnames.ora" file where in I need to make entry for the new SERVICE name.
Now I am able to connect it properly.

How to access Cyrillic glyphs from Trajan Pro 3 Regular?

I can download Trajan Pro3 regular in greek and latin glyphs but not in Cyrillic. Using Mac OS 10.7.5, Font Agent Pro 6.010.
No EULA Licence Agreement in russian, but Adobe told me I bought the right font (with cyrillic glyphs).

Yes, the Trajan Pro 3 fonts have Cyrillic glyphs in them. You need to use Unicode-encoded text to get to them.

Web services and ADF 11g- get Result from backing bean

I'm executing an action from backing bean (call Web service that returns complex data types)
BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("unesiPonudu");
Object result = operationBinding.execute();
result is instance of oracle.adf.model.adapter.dataformat.XMLHandler$DataCollection but DataCollection is not accessible.
How to get results from method?

Hi,
there should be a result iterator in the Executables section which cotnains the result. If not, create it from the WS result entry in the DC palette. Once this iterator gets updated, you get the data from this iterator as it would be the case of a table accesses the WS

How to access a value from "List of Values" by giving a name?

I have a "List Of Values" defined in my BI Report. It comprises list of label-value pairs.
I have defined a parameter :p_Value for the above "List Of Values" defnition. this parameter is used in datasource sql defnition to filter the query results. I configured a template which has a table that shows all the parameters used for filtering query results. If I give <?$p_Value?> in the template then the parameter value is rendered on it. But I want the "name" of the parameter and not the value. Can anybody tell me how to access name of the parameter which refers to one of value in "List of Value" defnition?

You have the code, inside the report query, if you can get the decoded value form that
option2:
create another paramater, LOV and query, and make it as hidden, and use the first :param_1_value in the lov query in the second param and decode the value.
Now , you can refer the :PARAM_2_value in template which will have decoded value.

Class not Found when accessing Proxy class from backing bean in VC.

Hi All,
I'm attempting to access a class of a webservice(generated as a proxy) within my ADF application and invoke the method within a backing bean of the View Controller(bean scope : backing bean). The proxy has generated an ObjectFactory class among other classes. When I access this Object factory class from within the backing bean, the application throws a Class not found error.
I don't know where the error lies since I've declared the View Controller of the ADF application dependent on the Proxy and I've imported the class and accessing it within a backing bean. How would you suggest I approach resolveing this.

Thank you for suggesting a Data control, but my requirement isn't to drag and drop the method as a button. It's more of a behind the scnes updating data via a database adapter requirement.
I've resolved the issue. turns out, my deployment archive didn't include the proxy.jpr. Once included it works likea charm.

How to access the result list in teststand after execution using labwindows/cvi

I am developing a user interface in labwindows/cvi that runs multiple teststand sequence files and would like to combine their reports (generated in teststand) into a single file at the end of a UUT. What is the best way to do this? At the moment, I'm trying to access the result list local variable after the execution has ended using API calls from labwindows/cvi and an end-of-execution callback event but those run-time variables do not exist anymore. How do I get a hold of the result list array at the end of an execution? I would like to grab this variable and pass it along from sequence to sequence using labwindows/cvi and not teststand itself. Is this possible? Any help would be great.

How to Prevent Navigating Away From a Page?

Hi all,
I�m developing a JSF application using IBM Rational Application Developer v6.0 and have this scenario:
Background:
I have a page that acts as a 3 step wizard. It also contains links to other pages. The page has a corresponding �pagecode� bean with a request scope and another managed bean with a session scope and basically everything happens here, all the action and action listeners. Also this managed bean handles three important events the �page load�, �page load ends�, and �page post�.
Desired Behavior:
I want to enforce the user to complete all three steps of the wizard without navigating away from this wizard like page by displaying a message �hey you must complete all three steps� or something like that :).
Problem:
The user can click on other links on the page and navigate away from the wizard without completing all three steps.
Any suggestions to this issue would be of great help.

Thanks for your solution. Would this also work for normal html navigation? My understanding that this may only work for the JSF framework navigation rules. On the other hand I also have plain html links on the page and not really sure if the JSF framework also handles these types of navigation.
This maybe a partial solution though and I really appreciate this.

So you're not using ADF BC at all, right ?
From JSF point of view, it does not matter how you provide UI control values.
What you can do, for example, is to use pure JDBC in order to get and display the database values.
What you need in your backing bean, is appropriate properties (setter/getter method pairs).
In the getter, you can obtain DB values by using JDBC

I have this query:

With this query I want get col1 from SET and compare it to the column Region from Customer. I would like to get the matching CustomerKey for it.
After execution it says commands are executed successfully. But I want to save the result from @query in another table. I looked it up and most people say to use sp_executesql. I tried a few constructions as sampled and I would always get this error:
Msg 214, Level 16, State 2, Procedure sp_executesql, Line 12
Procedure expects parameter '@statement' of type 'ntext/nchar/nvarchar'.
So the output should be a list of CustomerKeys in another table.
How can I save the results from EXECUTE into a variable? Then I assume I can INSERT INTO - SELECT in another table.
