How to access Sybase IQ data from SAP BW

Hi,
I read from Sybase website that we can access Sybase IQ data from SAP BW using Remote Cube through JDBC driver.
Is there any documentation on how to configure that?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Our BW version is 7.01
Sybase IQ is 15.4
Thanks,
CH

Hi,
The two files that are created are one is Control File ( will save as filename_s ) and other is data file. The control file will give you the details of your fields in your Infospoke

  • How to access internal table data from webdynpro to Flex application.

    Hi Connoisseur
The data transfer from Abap WebDeypro to flex island works well. I followed , there is an example from Thomas Jung (by the way as always Great Work) and  Karthikeyan Venkatesan (Infosys) but this example covers simple type only.
There is no example with complex types like arrayCollection which handle the transfer of data from flex to WebDynpro.
i tried to do pass internal table value  to flex-datagrid.but its not work.
    i would like to know
1.how to access internal table data from webdynpro to Flex application.
2.how to pass the internal table to flex-datagrid.
2.how to pass dynamically in ADOBE flex.
    3. how to do Flex is receiving the wd context data?
    4. how can we update WD context with FLEX data.
Ple give me sample example and step by step procedure.

    Tough Ask..
Because i have done dashboarding thru scritping (Dyanamic fashion tough) ..It is very good ..But when, coming to the one you asked i have the idea how it works but cannot really tell you wich would be better.
Each Route has its own limitations. That really depends on what exaclty your client is looking after..
So if you new to xcelsius and eager to learn ..I suggest you to give a go at all those..May be you can let me know wich is the best one..

  • HOW to update real time data from sap to other application?

We have two option of passing data from sap to other system.
    1. web service
    2. through idoc.
can anyone tell me advantages & disadv. of these two options.
Which scenario shd we use web service & idoc.
    How is idoc triggerred.?
Is it only through user exit?
Kindly suggest any other ways for interacting with a 3rd party system which does not use a file.

    Dear Libin,
IF you are using sap sytem as a sender then its better to use idoc's. Actually both systems (idoc and webservice) have there own advantages and disadvantages. Look up sdn for more info.
My personal choice would be idoc since with webservices you would need special tools like xml spy or altova and the skill to analyze and run those tools.,, its a little tedious..

  • How to access Previous Records' Data from within a Query?

    Hi All,
I am making a report in which I need to compare my "Registration Start Date" with "Registration End Date" of previous registration of same customer. This is to check if there are gaps between any customer's registrations.
In scenario shown below, I want to filter out RegID '1' as it comes after a gap from previous registration(RegID '3') of the same customer.
RegID CustID Registration Start Registration End
    1 1 01/04/2005 07/04/2005
    2 2 01/03/2005 29/05/2005
    3 1 21/03/2005 29/03/2005
    4 1 01/03/2005 21/04/2005
I created the join of this table with itself to pick previous records. it is something like:
    Current_Rec.Cust ID = Prev_Rec.CustID AND
    Current_Rec.RegStart > Prev_Rec.RegEnd
But this gives wrong data if customer has 3 back-to-back registrations. i.e. Shows last registration in query results as their is a gap between 3rd and 1st registration. But ofcourse there was another record between these two(which was 2nd registration).
It would be so nice of you guys if you can suggest a solution to this. Any oracle function?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ahsan

I Assume the following is your sample data
    Table Name: Tab1
    RegID CustID Registration_Start      Registration_End
    1      1      01/04/2005           07/04/2005
    2      2      01/03/2005           29/05/2005
    3      1      21/03/2005           29/03/2005
    4      1      01/03/2005           21/03/2005
Note : For the Regid "4" I have changed the Registration_End to 21/03/2005. It was earlier 21/04/2005.
Coming to the query, you need to generate the list of regid that have gaps.
    Try the following query:
    SELECT c.*
    FROM tab1 c
    WHERE c.reg_id NOT IN (
    SELECT a.reg_id
    FROM tab1 a, tab1 b
    WHERE a.cust_id = b.cust_id
    AND a.registration_end = b.registration_start
Note: I am sorry I didn't have access to the data base to execute my query. Correct me if I am wrong.

    Somu

  • Archive data from SAP

How can I archive some data from SAP, what is the procedure to do it and the TCodes. Whether I can take archive and copy the data into the CDs, when it is require how can I provide the data into the system, total procedure and the solution. Please guide me so that I can archive some data from our server. Thanks & Regards, Kuntal Guha Roy

SAP provide standard pre-defined SARA object of most (90%) of all the IS-U data objects. So depending on the functionality that you are currently using, you probably will not have to create any new objects. Things to remember in Archiving around IS-U is that due to the high integration of data thought out the IS-U vertical you will need to pick a date in time that you want to archive back from. Then you can work with the Functional Team to determine what the order of the objects you want to archive. There are MANY dependancies in the IS-U data model, so you will need to be careful that you don't archive/delete items in the wrong order. I (Technical Architect / Basis) have all ways had the Functional Teams provide the list of object and the order to archive/delete them. But rule thume is, last data in, first data out. So you would need to archive Invoicing docs, before Billing, Billing before payments and meeter reads.
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks

  • How to Access data from SAP Content Server through SAP Portal

    Hi Experts,
I want to aceess the data from SAP Content server through portal. Currently I am working on LSO business package. The SAP content server should work like Webdav as we uses KM as webdav.
I am trying to use this URL into the CMS address but it is not working
    http://XXX-XXX-XXXX:1090/ConTentServer/ContentServer.dll?adminContRep&operation=docIdList&contRep=ZADGAS_LSO
Is there any other procedure for acceesing the DATA  from SAP content server. ?
    Thanks,

If your Content Server is being used by DMS, then you can use the DMS Connector for KM.  This connector allows all documents stored in DMS to be accessed in Portal as if they are stored in KM.  For more info see this:

  • How can i store the data from the list to MS-Access?

    Hi all,
We all know that from alv it is possible to export data to Ms-excel or word or text file. Can anyone tell me how can i store the data from alv or reports to Ms-Access?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Abhijit

    Hi,
If you want that without code, i suppose there is a option in MS-Access to import data from Excel, so you have to first export to excel and then import to Access.
If you want to code it yourself then have a look at FM TABLE_EXPORT_TO_MSACCESS, as said in Exporting Data from R/3 to MS ACCESS
You can also see the search results in SCN for [export data to MS-Access (45 Results)|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/advancedsearch?query=exportdatato+MS-Access&cat=sdn_all].

  • How to retrieve the data from SAP database.

    Hi Pals,
How to retrieve data from SAP R/3 System to my third party software. I will make my query little bit more clear. There is a list of assets entered and stored in the SAP system. For example 3 mobile phones.
    1) Mobile 1- Nokia
    2) Mobile 2 - Samsung
    3) Mobile 3 u2013 Sony
Now think I do not know what all assets is there. I have to retrieve the data and get it on my third party software. Just display the list of assets. Lets say SAP XI is also there. Now how will I map it and get the details.
Please give me step by step method.
N.B: Just to read the data from SAP database.
Please make the flow clear step by step.
    Thanking you

    Hi,
You can use RFC or ABAP Proxy to make synchronous call with SAP.
Under RFC or ABAP Proxy Program you can get the data from SAP tables. Direct access to SAP Database is not preferrable even if its possible.
The better way to go for RFC or PROXY.
You will send the request from Third party system and the it will be as input parameters from RFC/ Proxy it will response based on it.
    This got it all..

  • How to Extract Data from SAP and Load it into Essbase

    Hi All,
Can you recommend some ways to extract data from SAP and load it into Essbase?. I have no knowledge about SAP, not sure how I can perform this task. Can I use ODI for this job?
    Thanks

    hi,
Not sure if this helps but give a try
you can create connection from EAS to SAP .. using a plug-in .. if you have access to oracle Support go for [ID 968961.1]
    or
    below are steps
    1. In EASPATH\console, open components.xml in a text editor.
    2. Under <PluginList>, enter <Plugin archiveName="SAP" packageName="com.essbase.eas.sap.ui"/> before the closing </PlugIn> tag.
    3. Save and close the file.
    4. In EASPATH\console\bin, open admincon.lax in a text editor.
    5. Search for lax.class.path= and append ;..\lib\sap_client.jar;..\lib \sap_common.jar to the entry. Save and close the file.
    6. In EASPATH\server\bin, open adminsvr.lax in a text editor.
    7. Search for lax.nl.java.option.additional, and append -DRFC_INI=EASPATH\server\saprfc.ini. Save and close the file.
    8. Create a new environment variable, RFC_INI, with a value of EASPATH\server\saprfc.ini
    9. Copy librfc.dll andsapjcorfc.dll to EASPATH\server\bin. You may need to obtain these files from SAP.
let me know if it works :)

  • Access to EHS data from system outside of SAP

We are creating a Formulation tool in a SQL database with a Access front end which will need to use EHS Specification data and eventually push the Formulation data back into the SAP EHS Spec database.
I would like this new database to have Real-Time access to SAP data. We currently are using RFC connections with tools such as EASY-Expert and a external Rules based program Atrion as well, so I know it is possible to feed this data back and forth using XML files.
Any advice on how I should proceed and maybe some external tools for purchase that will help me do this.

    Hi Beverly,
it is possible to access EH&S data from outside SAP by using the standard SAP BAPIs (e.g. BAPI_BUS1077_GETDETAIL for reading EH&S data) which are RFC enabled. Another possibility would be to develop your own RFC enabled function modules in the SAP system and call them from outside.
From your access database you can use VBA to perform the RFC call.
    Best regards,
    Andreas
