  • How to access the remote Objects Without Db_links?

    Hi ,
    I want to know how to access the remote objects without db_link.That is i want to access a object in some other server which has different database.

    SanjayBala, just so you know that it is possible to create a database link in Oracle to non-Oracle databases in some circumstances. Look up Generic Connectivity aslo know as Heterogenous Services. With 11g Oracle has basically renamed the feature and replaced it with somethinkg named ike DG4ODBC.
    I have not spent time studying the details for DB4ODBC but with HS Oracle provided the interface and you had to obtain the necessary ODBC driver on your own. I had Oracle on AIX reading and writing to SQL Server on Windows but the developers chose to write a java program and connect to both via it. On Windows and Linux platforms the necessary ODBC drivers might be available without the requirement to go out and purchase one.
    The Oracle Open Gateway product is an advanced version of the above features with drivers for specific non-Oracle databases included like DB2 or Informix.

  • How to access the XDB-Repository through iAS

    It is easy to access the XDB repository on a database server directly using http or ftp.
    However, since our database server is behind a firewall we need to access the XDB repository through our Oracle Internet application server (iAS 9i) which is situated outside the firewall. Does anyone know how to do this? Any hint is greatly appreciated; unfortunately nobody answers to this question in the iAS forum.
    We access a PSP-application on the database-server through the iAS-server using a DAD defined on the IAS-server. The XDB repository probably needs another access proceeding.
    Our environement:
    iAS 9.2 (Solaris)
    Oracle 9.2.0.4 (Solaris)
    Thank you very much for any help

  • How to organize the context object through out the application process

    Hi,
    Here in my application is using the following steps for a process.
    - Login
    - Search
    - Update
    - Logout
    In those above steps, Login, Search, and Update actions are touching to database/LDAP every time. In each time, Im creating new Context object, I think this is a bad approach. When I hit the login, I need to get the connection object and use that for rest of the actions(search and update).
    So can we organize the single context object through out the application? And where do we need to close the Context object?

    Don't worry about it. The provider will reuse connections behind the scenes. They're not tied directly to Contexts.

  • How to Access the Remote Servlet through a JSP Page

    Hi ,
    I wrote a servlet in my local system and It is running very well in my tomcat server5.5. Now I write a JSP code an another one system. Now I don't know how to call my servlet when Click a submit button. I need a small example or idea about this. Help me

    Just like any other servlet or form-processing script. What would a mere HTML page know about "systems"? Put the URL into the form destination attribute and be done.

  • How to close the Sound object

    I'm using Flash CS3, running code in ActionScript 3.
    I use the Loader class to load a child SWF file, which then
    takes over the entire area on my website that is reserved for
    Flash. If the user decides to stop watching the SWF file before it
    is completed, he hits the "close" button within the child SWF,
    ultimately causing the Loader.unload() method to be executed. So
    far, so good, only the sound from the remaining portion of the SWF
    file keeps playing. According to the Flash Docs for the
    Loader.unload() method:
    "As a best practice, before you unload a child SWF file, you
    should explicitly close any streams in the child SWF file's
    objects, such as LocalConnection, NetConnection, NetStream, and
    Sound objects. Otherwise, audio in the child SWF file might
    continue to play, even though the child SWF file was unloaded."
    It then gives an example that assumes you already have access
    to the Sound object, so closing the Sound object is done by:
    mySound.close();
    The only problem is that I have no idea how to access the
    Sound object when I use the Loader.load() method. Where is this
    beast? I can't seem to find anything in the documentation that
    tells me how to find the Sound object after calling Loader.load().
    As a temporary fix, I modified the target SWF file so that when the
    "close" button is hit, it calls the "stop()" function; however,
    this only stops the sound, it does not close the associated Sound
    object, and I presume it continues to lurk around in memory with
    nothing useful to do. (When the user hits the "close" button in the
    child SWF file, it creates a "bubbling" event so that the Loader
    class can call the Loader.unload() method on it.)
    I've attached code for your reference.
    Any help is deeply appreciated!
    -Dan

    Ack! Looks like I hijacked this thread, sorry.
    I'm doing almost exactly the same thing the OP is doing...
    Loader class to load an external SWF (which is a video file FLV).
    If the user hits the "close" button on the video, the video goes
    away as it should but the audio continues.
    I understand that I need to close any NetConnection and
    NetStream objects in addition to unloading the movie. What I don't
    understand is how to do that. I'm sure that it's a syntax thing I'm
    just not getting right. I would just really like a more detailed
    explanation of stopping NetConnections and NetStreams (but an
    explanation for the not-so-actionscript-experienced LOL).
    Thanks.

  • How to access the Text Frame, when we use scrollable frame,

    Hi Friends,
    How to access the Text Frame, when we use scrollable frame,
    Thank you,
    [ Nav ]

    That's the same question:
    how can I access something (a page item) on a page…
    Answer: you need something unique in that object you can get a handle on.
    Or you use the selection a user of your script is doing and work with that selection…
    A "scrollable frame" is nothing special. What it makes it a "scrollable frame" is the DPS software.
    So you have to look for attached labels on the object, that identify the object for the PDS plug-in "Overlay Creator" as a "scrollable frame". That's possible with the "extractLabel("KeyString")" function. But you need to know the appropriate key-string in advance.
    In another of your thread in the DPS forum, I basically answered the question how to obtain those key-strings.
    When knowing the key-string you could loop through all your page items (you can skip all text frames) in the allPageItems-collection, to identify the "scrollable frame" by extracting the right label.
    If you have more than one "scollable frames" you need a second unique identifier for the particular object.
    That could be nearly any property.
    Keep in mind, there is no "scrollableFrames" collection in the DOM !

  • How to access the handle of  the Frame window ?

    How to access the handle of the frame window through out the application ?. I want to display an alert box, while I click the fifth inner child component of the Frame . I am using Dialog Class for the alert box, I have to pass the frame handle to the Dialog constructer, I am getting the handle of the frame by getParent().getParent()......getParent().. But can any one suggest any better solution.

    If you application extends Frame or JFrame, you could simply refer to "this", or if you create a global or final Frame object that you use as your "top-level" component, you could refer to it this way. Additionally, if you're ever in a situation where you really need to go all the way to the top through n levels of components, I believe you could always do something like this...
    // assume myContainer is the "child" component that you're on, and you want to find its top-level parent
    Container c = myContainer;
    while (c.getParent() != null) {
         c = c.getParent();
    }

  • In VB Programming code -- How to access the formula for suppressing a field

    In VB Programming code -- How to access the formula for suppressing a field
    I am using Crystal Reports 2008 v1
    Using VB code, I am attempting to modify a Crystal Report before exporting it into a PDF format and then displaying it on the Web.
    My problem is that I am unable to access the formula used to dynamically suppress a field.
    The following code is working:
    mySections = rd.ReportDefinition.Sections
    For Each mySection As CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Section In mySections
       ' myFieldToChange is a String set to the text of the field I need to adjust the Suppression
       iloop = 0
       For Each RecObj As CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportObject In mySection.ReportObjects
               If mySection.ReportObjects.Item(iloop).Name.ToLower = myFieldToChange Then
                   myTextObject = CType(mySection.ReportObjects.Item(iloop), CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.TextObject)
                   myTextObject.Text = "new field text goes here"
                   mySection.SectionFormat.EnableSuppress = True
                   '  Here is where I want to change the formula for the Suppression
                End if
                iloop = iloop + 1
        Next
    Next
    I can not find any reference to the actual suppression formula in the SDK help file.
    Note, the EnableSuppress can be set to True for False, but if there is a formula for dynamic suppression, the True or False value is overwritten.  The results of the formula determine the suppression.
    Is there a way to reference this formula.  I know that I can put on in using the Crystal Report Designer software, I need to modify this formula using VB code and the SDK.

    Hello, Mark;
    If you are using the ReportDocument object you do not have access to the Conditional Suppression formula. You can get around it by using a formula field in the report for the supression and then using the FormulaField code to change it at runtime.
    If you want to change the supression condition directly at runtime you need to use RAS and the ReportClientDocument.
