how to activate advanced tools in imovie 10.0.3

you don't have to.
the former 'advanced tools' are, for convenience reasons, now always 'on'.

  • No options for advanced tools in iMovie 10.0.3

When i go into preferences to turn on the advanced tools in imovie, i only get a slow motion, and a option for icloud loading. Any
idea whats wrong? i have looked online for answers, but have found nothing. Does this version not have the the option for Green
    screen, side by side, etc.?

The "advanced setting" option no longer exists in iMovie 10.0.0.  Everything is already either in a tab or layed out in front of you.
In order to access most of your editing functions such as green screen and side by side, you may find them under the option located close to the top right hand corner of iMovie called "Adjust" which will put down a drop down menu of edits that my be done.

  • How to activate Advanced Schedule on Requests and Jobs...

    Hi All,
I'm trying to create a custom schedule on a concurrent request that will run jobs on the "first Wednesday of every month". I assume this can only be done through the Advanced schedule option under Schedule but the Advanced schedule option under our EBS 12 Suite seems to be disabled and greyed out and I don't know how to activate it... Is there a user priviledge/responsibility that has access to this or not cuz I'm currently logged in as Sysadmin.
If anyone has any opitions, or has worked around this problem, please help...

I was asked to enable the advanced button to do something similar here. Dumbfounded when I found this in MetaLink Note 414658.1:
    {color:#0000ff}*Cause*
This option is reserved for future releases for the fmb forms .
    Solution
This is the standard behavior . This button is reserved for future releases and is not currently used .
    {color}{color:#000000}We'll probably just schedule the job in question to run once at the specified intervals.{color}

  • How to activate pages(+) tool in toolbar

I am in a document, with the pages drawer open; I need to add new pages to my document, but the pages(+) tool in the toolbar remains dimmed, and I have not yet found any way of making it active. All the other tools are active or can be activated. Since I have not seen this problem mentioned in the forum, I must be missing a simple trick, I wonder what it is?
Alternatively is there a way round the problem?

    JBod,
    welcome to the Discussions.
Which template do you use? I guess it's some kind of self-defined template, maybe based on the Blank template.
You can add template pages, thus activating the icon, this way:
    * Mark one page in the Thumbnail drawer.
    * Choose Format/Advanced/Capture Pages…
Pages will ask you if you for a name for the template pages and offer to choose all pages or only the first page, the first two or the first three pages of your section (if they exist).
However, you should only do this with a file that you want to use as a template for other documents. Capturing pages in an ordinary document is (in my opinion) a waste of time.
To add a new page, follow either Dennis' advice or just keep on typing your text. Pages will then add a new page which is treated together with its predecessor as a so-called logical page. Pages will draw a yellow frame around a logical page when you mark it in the Page Thumbnails drawer.
If this information is useful to you, please mark it as "helpful" or "solved" using the little buttons in the titlebar of this message. Thank you.

    @John:
You can switch the Online Help's language on its main/home-page to many other languages:
all versions have the same stucture - so, search in English, memorize the location (2.chp, 4th§… ) - done!

  • Imovie 11 Advance Tools Issues

I cannot get access to advance tools in iMovie.
Just updated it today Version 10.0.06 and there is not an option to select Advance Tools in preferences.
Advance tools options do not appear in the contextual menu when I drag one video clip onto another.
I cannot use green/blue screen effects.
I do have an old iMac (2009) but that has not been an issue in the past.

I have the same question ... and nothing, so far has helped. Using iMovie 11 9.0.4. I use this software VERY infrequently and I have before does side-by-side movie clips and photo-within-movie clip so I KNOW it can be done with my software and hardware.
However, I cannot for the life of me get it to work. As far as I know, "advanced tools" are ON and I'm dragging one clip to the top of a longer clip until the green + appears ... yet when I drop the clip, it lands either BEFORE or AFTER the targeted clip rather than having the contextual menu pop up.
Same goes with trying to drag a still photo into a video clip. It's driving me batty!
    What am I overlooking?

  • Imovie show advanced tools

Hi I'm using imovie 11 version
    I have a question
I'd like to my logo input video
How can I do? I cannot find show advanced tools option
so I found some lecture video they have this option
but I'm not , prefernece just have two menu ( clip and theather)
Please let me know How can ???
    thanks

From the preferences you describe, you must be using iMovie 10.  iMovie '11 was an earlier version (version 9) which came with iLife '11.
There is no advanced tools option in iMovie 10 - all tools are automatically available.
The lecture you mention must have been about earlier versions of iMovie.
To put a logo into a video see this post:

  • IMovie '11 Advanced Tools missing?

    G'day All,
I'm attempting to produce a short (1-2min) video with some green/blue screen or Picture in picture. According to both the Help files and David Pogue's The Missing Manual, I'm supposed to turn Advanced Tools on in the iMovie Preferences, select the clip videoed in front of the (blue) screen and drag it onto the clip that will become the background, at which time a contextual menu will drop down allowing me the select green or blue screen or PiP.
Except that it doesn't. The dragged clip just shoots back to it's original position, no menu, no nothing.
No clues in either book or files....???
I'm using a MacBook Pro 2.26Ghz, 8GB RAM with OSX 10.7.4 and iMovie '11(9.0.7). The videos are 1280x720 HD .mov, shot on a Canon G12 digital still, imported at optimum and maximum. The camera is not on the compatible list, but footage from it play just fine in iMovie and can have Clip Video Adjustments applied to them.
    Thanks

Cancel that... after posting the request, I spotted a mention of the subject in the More Like This box* that answered my question. The clip needs to be dragged from the Events, not from the Project. Stated in the Help files... I must learn to read more carefully.
    * It had failed to show up when I searched the Communities but I guess with 65000-odd discussions, things are getting a bit complex.

  • Why wont the contextual menu for imovie appear even after I've turned on advanced tools?

why wont the contextual menu for imovie appear even after I've turned on advanced tools?

    Hi
And You are doing it right
    • draging a clip ontop of other clip in Project - or -
    • ctrl-click on clip in Project
If it's not that - then my wild Guess is that the iMovie Pref file got corrupted.
    • TEST - Easy by creating a new User Account / Log into this / re-try iMovie - if it now works then I would trash the pref. file
