How to activate Career and Job at ESS/MSS
I need to activate Career and Job section ?
How do you do this ?
With regards,
Gopala
You need to know which release you are on first ie WD JAVA OR WD ABAP as Jwala stated and then check roles assigned to the user Check in LPD_CUST > ESS MENU > read here for example http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_05/helpdata/en/cd/1c7eb674214a3b8b62e6fe7f4bb0cf/content.htm?frameset=/en/25/340b0507434193adbfe3f8fc8896c7/frameset.htm

Hi,
I am facing a prob in Career and Job in ESS.i am not able to run any of its iviews in the backend.I do not have E-Recruit 3.0 installed in my server. According to note 766578, i can use some of the services of career and jod by adding tc to the already existing transaction code . Eg: pz22 can be replaced woth pz22tc.I tried that, but still i am getting error on page. Has somebody tried doing this before? Do i reallt need to have external ITS installed ?
Any sort of help on this would be highly appreciated..
thanks,

Services WD ABAP for Career and Job of ESS
Dear Experts.
We are implementing ESS with BP 1.41 and we have the following issue.
The standard ESS package only provides steps to setup the original BSPs for the services of the Area Page Career and Job :
· Candidate Profile
· Data Overview
· Profile Release
· Apply directly
· Search for jobs
· Favorites
· Applications
· Personal settings
I want that this services call the EHP4 E-recruitment WDA applications.
SAP says that may be possible adapting the ESS role to include these applications.
What are the steps what I Sould do for include this service WD ABAP for the Area of Career and Job?
Best RegardsJuan,
Please refer my answer in ESS forum
Thanks

Hello,
We are having a lot of problems with recruitment in ESS. The iViews are calling a BSP application in ECC which only returns "Internal Error" (the BSP is HRRCF_START_INT by the way).
I've debuged the code and the application is looking for a B650 connection between CP and NA which doesn't seem to exist in SAP (the connection exists but not for CP and NA).
Has anyone had this problem?
(we are running EP 7.0 and ECC 6.0)

Hi Gurus,
We have installed EHP4 but are not sure as to how the "Career and Job" in ESS in the Portal should look like. ie what it contains.
We are confused between the EHP3 and 4 mix. We have tried to make sense of this via the Home Page Framework but that all seems to be a bit of a mess now with the new EHP4 objects.
If someone could provide us with some clarity it would be very much appreciated.
Kind regards,
GarthHi,
You use SAP e-Recruiting 3.00 with Support Package 1, or higher.
Before you can use the e-Recruiting applications, you have to make the following settings in the Implementation Guide (IMG):
1. Specify the server on which SAP e-Recruiting is installed. To do so, choose the following IMG path: Cross-Application Components u2192 Homepage Framework u2192 Resources u2192 Define Server for Resources. Enter the server name and the port of your e-Recruiting system.
2. Assign the server to all e-recruiting resources and add the URL parameters stored. To do so, choose the following IMG path: Cross-Application Components u2192 Homepage Framework u2192 Resources u2192 Define Resources.
Enter the e-recruiting server for the following resources. Add the relevant URL parameters by replacing in the BSP client the 000 client with the client of your e-recruiting system.
¡ EMPLOYEE_CANDIDATE_APPLICATIONS_SERVICE
¡ EMPLOYEE_CANDIDATE_DATA_OVERVIEW
¡ EMPLOYEE_CANDIDATE_DIRECT_APPL_SERVICE
¡ EMPLOYEE_CANDIDATE_FAVORITES_SERVICE
¡ EMPLOYEE_CANDIDATE_PERSONAL_SETTINGS
¡ EMPLOYEE_CANDIDATE_PROFILE_RELEASE
¡ EMPLOYEE_CANDIDATE_PROFILE_SERVICE
¡ EMPLOYEE_CANDIDATE_SEARCH_JOBS_SERVICE.
The support component for E-Recruiting Applications is PA-ER. -

I would like to disable the Skills Profile iview under "Career and Job" in ESS since we will not be using this functionality. How can I accomplish this? We would like the entire section:

from
Go to (SPRO > Personnel Management > Employee Self-Service > General Settings > Homepage for Self-Services > Subareas > Assign Subareas to Areas) > Assign Subareas to Areas (Find Entries)

2) Change the "1" for " " in the new entry and save the changes

How to disable options in ESS-Career and job-Skilla profile
Hi All,
In ESS-Career and Job-Skill profile, there are three are three buttons 1.EDIT SKILL,2.ADD NEW SKILL,3.DELETE SKILL.
I want to disable those options in Skills profile. Can some body please help me in solving this.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Thirun. These three buttons are not configurable. You could easily modify them using NWDI and NetWeaver Developer Studio.
This is pretty much your only option to customize this iview.
If you have ESS in a track in NWDI, the Skills Web Dynpro project is under --> ess~skl. Create a project from here and open up the "Ovewview" View from the VcSklOverview Component.
From there, you just need to set the buttons to "Not Visibile"

iam just postinga screen shot of that error

can u people help me in solving this issue.wat might be the problem and how to get trhe solution
pls help me as iam in very emergency with this issue
Bye
Waiting 4 responsesandeep, im still looking for you to provide the
URL of both pages in your screenshot.
Outside of a weird firewall issue or something, you have 1 of 2 issues.
1. Your OBN Target configuration you did in the notes is wrong. which means the target URL is not pointing to the iview properly.
2. Your iview for the sap page called appraisal_document is not in accessible in the correct content area.
here is the location in the standard SAP portal area, not sure if you copied and already using a custom ESS tab....
pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.14.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.14.iviews/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.14.career_job/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.appraisal_document_pmp
also, on the previous post, it was wrong the wrong webdynpro's that were told you. The POWL webdynpro's you already have access to, its when from that application you try to launch the document. You want to launch this webdynrpo, which is configured in the appraisal_document iview:
HAP_AC_PMP_MAIN - for predefined
HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT- for flexible. -

Hi Guys,
I have a problem in ESS role, I am having SP12 portal with ESS SP8,ADS SP10 and WebDynpro 6.4. In Ess role there is a workset called "career and job" when I try to open "Candidate Profile" under this workset I get an error regarding

Regards
Yasir NomanThe alias SAP_WebDynpro_XSS is the alias on the portal for a myERP2004 system.
If you search for the Installationguide for MySAP ERP 2004 Java components,
you will see that this includes a XSS component 5.0 and contains amongst others ESS and MSS.
This needs to be configured as well.
The other alias above mentioned need to be created on the myERP2004 system using this URL (Webdynpro Admin):

ESS - Career and Job - Career Profile: Page not found
Hello,
we are facing a problem. When I try to open the Service "Career profile" in subarea "Career" of area "Career and Job" we are getting the error "Page not found or not available". The default-log of the java server lists the following error:
#1#javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Object not found: com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_career_job/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.career_service at portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.roles/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_career_job. Root exception is javax.naming.NamingException: Object not found: com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_career_job/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.career_service at portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.roles/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_career_job
I tried to find out, what item in the IMG has to be changed to solve the problem but I cannot identify a service or a resource where the path com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_career_job/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.career_service at portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.roles/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_career_job is listed.
Can anyone give helpful hints?
Thanks in advance,
André
Edited by: Andre Siegling on Jun 14, 2010 4:40 PMHi,
The Resource you need to change is EMPLOYEE_CAREER_PAG and the URL location should be as below:
ROLES://portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.ess.employee/com.sap.pct.ess.roles/com.sap.pct.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.ess.area_career_job/com.sap.pct.ess.area_career_job
This should solve the issue.

In each of the two switches you can enter a maximum of 10 characters. That is, you can enter a system ID that is composed of a maximum of 20 characters.
Switch QUALI FORM enables you to set up the SAPscript form required to print the skills profile in ESS. A standard form is already set up in the standard delivery (see below).
Switch QUALI REQPR enables you to set up which skills proficiencies, required by the position, are to be displayed in the employee's skillsprofile.
