How to add an HP1015 over Samba

Just read thru the HP printers on
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303057#hpdrivers
and I see that the drivers for the Laserjet 1015 are shown as HPs own but not "modern".
The note above the table says that non-modern drivers cannot be used for IP or Windows printers.
I can talk to this printer from any other winxp box on the net and via CUPS from any linux box on the net - so - is it just a case of finding the correct ppd's to get CUPS to recognise it?
I can print to it via CUPS/Samba on the OSX box using the HP Laserjet Series CUPS 1.1 driver - but that prints the page too high on the sheet (the top crops and the bottom of the page is full of space).
Any hints/starters/faq pointers?

Menu File for the software you are using to print:
1 Page Setup---Settings-Page Attributes
Format---name of your printer
Paper Size---Size of the paper you use
Orientation---wanted
Scale---wanted
2 OK
3 Print-----Printer---name of your printer
Presets--Standard
Copies & Pages
Copies ( )
Then you can preview etc....
PRINT

Button Skin: How to add button properties (over, down,up)

Hi all,
     I made a custom button "skin" because I want my buttons to be images with NO box or border around it and it works great, but I don't know how to add the button functionality. ex. In "over" state buttons tend to light up and in "down" state they tend to get darker. Anyone know how to apply this to an image??? below is my code. Thanks guys!!

How to add record voice over for a video file

I have a video file (wmv) already prepared, and all I would like to now do is record a voice over for this file using Soundbooth CS4. My hunch is that I need to import the video into a multi-track file, and then I expect I'll export the multitrack file back to the WMV when I'm done. The problem is that when I hit the record button, I'm expecting to see the video playing but I don't.
Is there a way to add a voice-over / narration to an exisiting video file (in this case a video file without an audio track at all)

When you are recording, you are creating a new audio track and not playing the video, so you won't see it advance.
Best bet is to open the video in WMP, and record your audio in SB while it plays, to get the timing right, then open the video in SB and past the recording into it.
I'm not sure, but I believe the reason you can't play the vid and record at the same time is in case someone is recording new audio for a clip that has audio in it already, the old audio would play at the same time the recording is taking place and would screw it all up, so it either records one or plays the other, but not both at once.

Per my understanding that you have an date field(Due Date) in the report and now you want to get the over due days based on this field and display at right of the date field in the report, right?
I have tested on my local environment that we have two method to do this, one is to add the datediff functon in the query to get the overdue days and another method is to using expression in the report.
Details information below for your reference:
Method one:
Modify the query as below to get the new field(OverDue Days):
SELECT DueDate, DATEDIFF(day, DueDate, GETDATE()) AS OverDueDays
FROM tableName
Method Two:
Add an calculated fields and then add the expression below to get the value for this field or just add expression directly in the new field:
=Datediff("d",Fields!DueDate.Value,Today())
If your problem still exists, please try to provide us some sample date and more details information about your requirements.

How to add watermark text over an image

I add a watermark text in the corner of all my images in photoshop before putting them on the web. I use a text layer, emboss it, blur it, choose hard light and position it.
I am new to Lightroom. I am using an Intel iMac with up to date lightroom. Is there any way I can have some sort of preset in lightroom which will add this watermark to images in lightroom? I have the image saved as a separate document so technically all I would need to do is tell lightroom to apply this image to the selected photos.
Is this possible?

Alex, I do something similar to what you want to do, we use the Web module to create a flash slide show for proofs on a CD. Export all the images, sized for web use to a folder. Do a Photoshop action that adds your watermark. Re-import the finished files, go to Web module & upload. You should look into Mogrify, as it will add whatever watermark image, or text you want to, and has an "upload to an FTP server after export" function. I have not used this, as we don't upload to a studio website.

I want to make a red rectangle appear around a particular item to highlight it (such as the mouse pointer) and be able to follow the motion of the item. I saw in the Boris documentation there was reference made to vector shapes, but I could not figure out where to create them. Sorry, I forgot to say I am using Final Cut Express HD 3.5.

The only way you can do it within FCE is by using motion keyframes. Create the shape in Photoshop, making sure it confirms to your video settings. You may also be able to create the shape within FCE by using a combination of Color (from Video Generators>Matte) and applying Mask Shape to it.
Set the shape on the video track above your clip (ie clip on V1, shape on V2). Click on the shape to open the motion controls in the Canvas (make sure Image + Wireframe is selected in Canvas). Now use the Motion contorl tab in the Viewer or the Motion handles in the Canvas to move the shape, setting Keyframes to animate the motion

Well, I think the best way to create a rainbow would be to use a vector program, but there's a way to use PSE9 to get a rainbow effect that might be useful.
Create a new image.
Use the fill tool with a spectrum fill (I used the "Medium" spectrum):
Create a small, tight circular fill:
Zoom in to give yourself room to work on it.
Make a circular selection around the outer edge of the spectrum, invert the selection and delete it:
Make a small circular selection in the center, delete that; make a rectangular selection covering the bottom half and delete that:
Select the spectrum and use Layer...New...Layer via Copy to get the spectrum on its own layer with a transparent background. Then squish the spectrum:
Rotate the spectrum 90 deg. right and move it to the left of the image area:
Use Filter...Distort...Shear with these settings to pull the spectrum into an arc:
Rotate the spectrum back left, and transform it into something useable:
The layers look like this:
It ain't perfect, but might be good enough.

HOW TO: Add /manipulate columns for a GridControl when the columns (attributes) are from different entity objects.
This HOWTO describes the basic steps of using attributes from different entity objects for a GridControl.
One way you can create a GridControl which contain attributes from different entity objects is to create a view object and base it on the entity objects which contain
the desired attributes.
Here are the basic steps:
1.Create a new view object (or use an existing view object) by selecting File>New from the menu, clicking the Business Components tab and double-clicking
on the View Object icon.
2.In the View Object wizard change the name to something meaningful.
3.Select the entity objects you will base your view object on.
4.Nivigate to the attribute screen and select the attributes you would like to include in your view object from each entity object. At this point you can also create
a new attribute by clicking the "New" button. The new attribute can be a concatenation of other attributes, derived from a calculation etc.
5.In the query panel of the View Object wizard, click "Expert mode" and enter a query statement. You write complex queries such as decoding a set of attribute
values.
6.Add your newly to your newly created view object to the application module by double-clicking on the application module in the navigation pane and selecting
your view object from the list.
7.Create a new row set.
8.Bind row set to a query by editing their queryinfo property and selecting your view object and its attributes from the queryInfo pane.

Are you intending this as a commercial solution or a work around?
To take an existing equivalent, one would build a view in the database tailored for each grid in an Oracle Forms application. Or a separate query layered over tables for each form/grid in a Delphi or Access application? Even if it is ninety nine percent the same over half a dozen forms/grids?
And now you've added a whole slew of "slightly different" rowSetInfos to maintain.
So if you wanted to add a column that needs to appear everywhere... you've just increased the workload multi-fold?
That would be a management nightmare, wouldn't it? Not to mention yet more performance cost and a slower system?
Hmmmm..... I'm not sure I like where this is headed... someone needs to do some convincing...
