How-to add Flash Player 9 to Flash Pro CC - (PC & MAC)

Howdy -
I wanted to compile all of the helpful information regarding lack of Flash 9 support in Adobe Flash Pro CC.
As you know that Flash 9 is still required for a majority of flash adverts and the DFP platform is especially critical of the flash version on a SWF creative.
Currently in Flash Pro CC the lowest version of flash you can save as is 10.3. Even when you do export a SWF as Flash 10.3, DFP and the DoubleClick validator reports the exported file as Flash 12.
DoubleClick Flash Validator ( Awesome for verifying clicktags and Flash versions ):

After numerous searches, I found this discussion on the here on the forums that properly addresses the issue and how to implement the fix on a PC & Mac:
Can Flash Pro CC publish to flash player 9??

Thanks to Kglad for providing all the information on this awesome fix.

Thanks to Jarkko Syrjälä for providing the information on the MAC directories.
http://forums.adobe.com/people/JarSyr
For PC users you are going to need to locate the directories below:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CC\Common\Configuration\Players\FlashPlayer9_0.xml
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CC\Common\Configuration\ActionScript 3.0\FP9\playerglobal.swc
Note: The FP9 folder does not exist in the "ActionScript 3.0" directory, you will need to create it and place the "playerglobal.swc" located on the attached "Windows Flash CC FP9 Assets.zip".
======
For MAC users you are going to need to locate the directories below:
/Applications/Adobe Flash CC/Adobe Flash CC.app/Contents/Common/Configuration/Players/FlashPlayer9_0.xml
/Applications/Adobe Flash CC/Adobe Flash CC.app/Contents/Common/Configuration/ActionScript 3.0/FP9/playerglobal.swc
To navigate inside "Adobe Flash CC.app" in Finder, you need to right click it and select "Show Package Content".
Note: The FP9 folder does not exist in the "ActionScript 3.0" directory, you will need to create it and place the "playerglobal.swc" located on the attached "MAC Flash CC  FP9 Assets.zip".

Below is a screen capture of my Flash CC on my MAC displaying the Flash 9 option:
Hope this helps!
Cheers!

Thank you so much! This really helped! One thing to also mention is to restart Flash as the last step.

  • Flash Player on MacBook Pro

Hello: I tried to install Flash 8 Player on MacBook Pro and it did not work. Then, I realized because maybe it's not Universal, it won't work. Does anyone know if you can install the Flash Player on MacBook Pro? Thanks in advance for your advice.

The special version of the Flash plug-in supplied with Intel-Macs can be restored by extracting a fresh copy from the installer disc. You will need to download Pacifist (www.versiontracker.com) and use it to extract a fresh copy of the Flash plug-in from the file archive on the installer DVD.
Please read the following about other possible incompatibilities:
A Basic Guide for Migrating to Intel-Macs
If you are migrating a PowerPC system (G3, G4, or G5) to an Intel-Mac be careful what you migrate. Keep in mind that some items that may get transferred will not work on Intel machines and may end up causing your computer's operating system to malfunction.
Rosetta supports "software that runs on the PowerPC G3 or G4 processor that are built for Mac OS X". This excludes the items that are not universal binaries or simply will not work in Rosetta:
Classic Environment, and subsequently any Mac OS 9 or earlier applications
    Screensavers written for the PowerPC
    System Preference add-ons
    All Unsanity Haxies
    Browser and other plug-ins
    Contextual Menu Items
Applications which specifically require the PowerPC G5
    Kernel extensions
Java applications with JNI (PowerPC) libraries
See also What Can Be Translated by Rosetta.
Be sure to verify with developer or from information on download sites whether software is a universal binary. Many of the incompatible products currently in use will likely be updated in time.
In addition to the above you could also have problems with migrated cache files and/or cache files containing code that is incompatible.
If you migrate a user folder that contains any of these items, you may find that your Intel-Mac is malfunctioning. It would be wise to take care when migrating your systems from a PowerPC platform to an Intel-Mac platform to assure that you do not migrate these incompatible items.
If you have problems with applications not working, then completely uninstall said application and reinstall it from scratch. Take great care with Java applications and Java-based Peer-to-Peer applications. Many Java apps will not work on Intel-Macs as they are currently compiled. As of this time Limewire, Cabos, and Acquisition are available as universal binaries. Do not install browser plug-ins such as Flash or Shockwave from downloaded installers. These versions are not universal binaries and will not work on Intel-Macs. The version of OS X installed on your Intel-Mac comes with special compatible versions of Flash and Shockwave plug-ins for use with your browser.
The same problem will exist for any hardware drivers such as mouse software unless the drivers have been compiled as universal binaries. For third-party mice the only current choice is USB Overdrive. Contact the developer or manufacturer of your third-party mouse software to find out when a universal binary version will be available.
Also be careful with some backup utilities and third-party disk repair utilities. Disk Warrior (does not work), TechTool Pro (does not work), SuperDuper (newest release works), and Drive Genius (untested) may not work properly on Intel-Macs. The same caution may apply to the many "maintenance" utilities that have not yet been converted to universal binaries.
Before migrating or installing software on your Intel-Mac check MacFixit's Rosetta Compatibility Index.

  • Adobe flash player for vivaz pro

Hey, im looking for adobe flash player for vivaz pro. its symbian s60v5 so it should support it but i cant download it from adobe's website and i havent managed to find it elsewhere either.

Yes, that's because your phone already has flash lite installed--I'm guessing that the version from that link is probably the same as the one in your phone, despite it saying that it's version 4--or perhaps you have Flash lite version 4.0 already installed in your phone. Either way, Symbian only supports Flash lite (latest version being 4.0), so have a look here on this table  of OS vs type of compatible Adobe flash player:

  • Having trouble installing Adobe Flash player 17.0.0.134 on Mac OS 10.10.1.  Currently have 16.0.0305 flash player installed

Having trouble installing Adobe Flash player 17.0.0.134 on Mac OS 10.10.1.  Currently have 16.0.0305 flash player installed.  I've tried quitting Safari.  Have not uninstalled currently Adobe as yet.  How to fix?

Sorry, when I try to install Flash Player 17.0.0.134, it will begin initialing, then stop saying "Installation Failed" and to press "Finish".  It then directs me to troubleshooting.  I made sure I quit Safari as per their instructions, but have not gone as far as "uninstalling" my current Flash Player 16.0.0.305, because it looks like I will screw something up in the process.
    Hope that information helps.

Could you please visit this site: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

  • Flash Player won't install properly in Mac

I have repeatedly attempted to install the most current version of Adobe Flash Player in my 10.8.4 Mac without success.  Actually it installs, but does not give me opportunity to accept your terms (which I am willing to do).  When I try to open a file, it is black.  What do I have to do to get this to work properly?

    Junie,
    Hi...
I really appreciate your assistance.... I installed firefox. I have MAC version 10.5.8... I think I should have stated that on my prior post......sorry.
The version of firefox I installed on this mac works until I attempt to use a app that requires flash. I updated the flash player with the correct version that firefox requires.
to no avail will the plugin update. when attempting to update the plugins, I get a message from firefox telling me that I do not have the required system in the mac in order to update the plugins.
So...I am going to continue to investigate and analyze where I am going wrong in my attempts to reinstall adobe flash on this mac....
I will keep you apprised to my outcome. Any further assistance that you may possibly provide me would be Great!!
    Thanks again,
    Scott

  • Flash player and flash reader

can you please fix my flash player and flash reader and thank you i got windows 8

Ok, I tried to download the firefox browser but IE wouldn't let me download it.  My friend downloaded it from their computer to a flash drive and I loaded it to my computer from the flash drive.  The download of Firefox from the flash drive worked, and now I'm using Firefox & both my adobe flash player and my adobe reader are working just great.
However, neither the flash player nor the reader are working if I use IE, so I guess I will just have to use Firefox as my browser.
I'm going to mark my question as answered since I really don't care that I have to use Firefox instead of IE,although I can't understand why it works using Firefox but not using IE.
Thank you so much for your assistance in walking me step-by-step through this problem until I was able to reach a satisfactory solution.

  • Momentary pause in Sound when using Flash Player AND Flash CS4

    Hello,
When ever I play something in Adobe Flash Player (a flash movie, for example) and there is an absence of sound, the flash player will momentarily pause (for about 1 second) RIGHT BEFORE an incoming sound is made.
Imagine in the movie someone swings a hammer towards a plank. The animation will pause RIGHT BEFORE the hammer makes an impact and thus creates the hitting sound. The sound and animation will time up correctly, but there is that brief pause before, as if the internet browser, or flash player, or my sound card has to 'load' something before executing the sound.
I tried experimenting with my sound output via the bottom-right hand control properties on the desktop, and when I choose "Digital Output Device (SPDIF)" and disable my "SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC," there is absolutely NO sound at all, yet there is also NO lag prior to where a sound would play in the movie. This leads me to believe it may be a problem with my sound card.
As I said before, if the Flash player is playing a continuous sound, a background song, for instance, there is no momentary pause when the introduction of new sounds happens.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the player - no luck. Obviously i'm currently running the player at the newest version.
    OS: Windows Vista Home Basic
    RAM: 2G
Processor: Genuine Intel CPU 1.6 GHz
    Sound: SigmaTel High Definition
    Browser: FireFox

I have the same problem as you. I created a thread with the same subject, if you want to watch it for answers too, here's the URL: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/484626

Not sure what you are asking. A download is a download. what you do with the file afterwards is entirely up to you. If you mean to install Mac software on Win, then no, this can't be done. Furthermore you also would have to have a proper Win serial.

  • How to download adobe flash player onto MacBook pro

Hi, can anyone tell me how to download adobe flash player onto my new MacBook Pro with retina display please?
I don't know what operating system it has?

If you've a new Retina display MacBook Pro, it probably shipped with Mavericks - you can confirm this by going to the Apple on the menu bar and selecting "About This Mac...." if it says system 10.9 or 10.9.1, you're on Mavericks.
To install Flash Player, you must first download it from Adobe -> http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/. After the download is complete, you should have a file with a .dmg extension in your Downloads folder. Double-click this file and it will 'mount' as if it is a disk. There will be a 'package' inside and you must double-click this to actually install Flash Player.
Once Flash Player is installed, restart your computer and then open your browser. You should now be able to view Flash content.
    Good luck,
    Clinton
