How to add hours to a reference time cell??

I am making the switch to Numbers from Excel and can not figure this out.
I have one cell as a time : 10:00 AM - A1
In Cell B4 I want 10:00 AM plus 6 hours.
I can't figure this out ! In Excel I would out , =A1+"6:00"
Not sure if the cells are formatted incorrectly but I have tried all the date and time formats.

Yes, you can make your own custom shortcut. Go to the Keyboard section of System Preferences. I must say that I don't like merging cells in Numbers. It has the potential to get you into trouble and should be avoided. Having a shortcut just makes this evil more tempting, in my opinion. Numbers doesn't have the great need for merging cells that Excel does. You can make separate small tables in Numbers and you can give them descriptive names that will display above the tables, if you choose. You also can intersperse Text Boxes and Shapes with text in them to annotate your sheets. Merging cells isn't so imperative in Numbers as your past experiences my have led you to believe.
2. If I want to reference another cell on another sheet can I name the cell that I wish to reference? Ie: Sheet 1 cell c4 , I would like to name : start, then in other cells I would write , =start. I can do this excel but no luck so far in numbers.
Yes you can. There are two ways you can learn about this. First, you can insert a reference to a remote cell by navigating to it using the Sheets Pane and then clicking on the cell you want to reference. Then take a look at what Pages inserted for a reference. This will give you the format (syntax) for doing it manually. You can also learn about referencing remote cells by reading the Numbers User Guide PDF and the Formulas and Functions User Guide. Then are both available from the Help Menu for download.

Thanks a lot, it's really help...don't know why I didn't see this customized point before in SPRO.
But I have an other issue, my new fields is added in the CATS screen and now I'm trying to put default value by using the user exit of extension CATS0009.
When I complete the value of my new fields in structure CATSD_IMP, there are not taking into account and the CATS screen doesn't display the value.
Am I using the wrong table ? wrong user-exit ? or my code ..

How to add a new HD to Time Capsules daily back-up

So, i have a 1TB Iomega drive housing all my Time Machine back-ups. I also have an additional 1TB Iomega drive housing all my video/audio files. When Time Machine performs it's hourly back-up, it only checks the new items on my Mac Mini's drive. I have over 700GB of info on my Audio/Video drive that i want to be backed up by Time Machine....
So.....i followed +/- instructions for adding/subtracting drives to NOT back up. Unfortunately, my Audio/Video drive that i want to have Time Machine back-up is not available. It is listed in my list of available drives, but its name is shaded, and i can not click on it to either add/subtract from the list. I assume if it's not in dark, bold text, then it should be having Time Machine back it up hourly, right? Well, it's not. Does anyone know what the heck i'm talking about, and if so, how to solve this problem? It seems like a ridiculously easy thing to solve, but i've hit a wall. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Eventually it may delete them, but if TM did a backup while you still had those files on your Media HD (which I am assuming is being backed up by TM), it does retain the data on your backup drive.

If you have no use for those files and want to delete them completely, just open Finder and click on the TM icon on the Dock. Locate the folder where those deleted files resided. Perhaps the cells are Date & Time format (which can display as 1:25)
Duration seems to be what you want:
=SUM(B2:B6)

This is absolutely possible! Adding view elements at runtime is called "dynamic programming". There are a lot of good resources and tutorials on SCN if you do a search. To start you off, here is an excellent series by Thomas Szücs:

Another option that avoids dynamic programming is to create the view element at design time but bind its visible property to a context attribute of type WDUI_VISIBILITY. You could initially set its visibility to "none" until the user clicks the button, then you could change its visibility to "visible".

Help needed to add an image to a datagrid cell in actionscript

Morning all,
I am still quite new to flex development and I have an application which uses xml to populate a datagrid. One of the row columns should display a small image but I don't know how to do that.
Can anyone show me how to add an image to a datagrid cell in actionscript?

you cant just set image object to itemrenderer, you need to use classfactory.

Add hours to time stamp

I have to add hours to my time stamp control.
I unbundle the time stamp cluster and get the hours, minutes, seconds , days..
To the hours , i want to add hour. If i add an hour less than 12, i get correct output, BUt hour greter than 12, Time stamp does not show anything. How to build this. Suppose i add 24 hours, Time stamp should show next day, the same time..

I just switched from Excel (lol) and found an error in a key calculation i use. Does anyone know how to automatically add hours to a time? i.e. i have to convert Pacific Time to other U.S. Time Zones so in the past I used this formula in Excel (=B6+TIME(3,0,0)) which is now not working in Numbers. Is there an equivalent?

When I try to help users in English, I often look in a dictionary but it seems that for many users, reading the Help or the PDF User's Guideis too much work.
In cell D3, the formula is simply:
=TIME(HOUR(B)HOUR(C),MINUTE(B)+MINUTE(C),SECOND(B)SECOND(C))
which match the Numbers's syntax which, what a surprise, is not XL's one

If you can get the time element into an INTERVAL DAY TO SECOND datatype, you can simply add the interval to the date, e.g:
yourdate + NUMTODSINTERVAL(2,'HOUR')
What is tricky is converting a string like '02:00' into an interval or a number. You could generate a numeric offset with something like:

which can then be added to the date

How do I add an Airport Extreme with Time Capsule to an existing non-Apple network? I have an ISP provided wireless Router that has to remain as the base station. I am able to join my 1/2TB Airport Extreme and Airport Express to the network, but I can't access/use Time Machine.

One option would be to connect the Time Capsule (TC) to the ISP-provided wireless router by Ethernet. You can then configure the for a roaming network. Then, depending on what your goal is for the AirPort Express, you can either: 1) Add it to roaming network, 2) Configure the TC & the Express for an "extended" network, or 3) Configure the Express to "join" the roaming network for AirPlay.

I need a time line so any part of the what is being played can be found by time, ie at 1 minute and 30 seconds in and continues for 45 seconds out of a 50 minute audo.

If you're talking about a playback controller within the rich media annotation (RMA) then you need to write your own widget in Flash or Flex, and then place the video and widget files using the multimedia "Add Flash" tool in Acrobat instead of the "Add Video" tool. Aside from a bunch of proprietary code to handle events, commenting and the API (which you can live without for basic play-pause-scrub applications), video RMAs are just an embedded SWF file containing an FLVPlayback component. The skin and the video file itself are added to the RMA as resource entries. You can build your own version and have it display whatever controls you want, provided you know how to write ActionScript!
If you're talking about a controller that's external to the RMA (e.g. a series of links or buttons elsewhere on the page) then in the past you would use FLV video files and the 'cue points' feature that's built into Acrobat - however Adobe removed the ability to create FLV files in the latest version of CC, so unless you have CS6 or earlier it's a non-starter. Instead you can manually set playback start points using the special "multimedia operations" link action in your PDF - though stopping playback at a defined point is very difficult without FLV cues. For that you're back to writing your own widget.

First upload the file into an internal table. If you are using a file that is on application server. Use open dataset and close dataset.

Can anyone assist on how to add an age / time counter into DW?
In other words to say "Child X is now a years, b months old"? or "Product Z was launched A years B months ago"? Or, on the other hand, "You only have Z days & Y minutes left to enter"? With it updating in real time?
Apologies in advance if this is a silly / obvious question but I just can't seem to do it!

This isn't something you would add to DW, you would need to add it to your webpages. You would do this with javascript. Search the web for
'javascript countdown timer' for plenty of examples.
