How to adjust line level input?

Anybody know how to adjust the input level of my 1/8" input? Everything's coming in too hot.

Man I just posted that - did you actually read it??
Create an Input object in your environment.
Open environment (command+8)->New->Channel Strip->Input
Then just turn the slider in your Input object down by some dB.
I forgot to say: Then insert a Gain Plug In from the Utility folder into your Input object and turn down the gain to your liking. Sorry for the confusion...

  • Recording line-level input with Griffin iMic

    I'm having trouble recording line-level input from a stereo system with a Griffin iMic. Even though all extraneous inputs have been deactivated, I'm still getting a slight feedback hum. There should be no extraneous noise whatsoever. I haven't done this in quite a while, so I've forgotten what I must do. Any help is apprreciated. Thanks very much. Peace,

    I'm trying to digitize an audio cassette with
    Soundtrack Pro. My setup includes a Griffin iMic
    that goes to a USB port. The trouble I'm having is
    in controlling the input volume. The level meters
    indicate clipping, but I'm not clear how to set the
    input level.
    If it's in the Recording tab (>Input) with the Gain
    slider, mine is greyed out.
    M Wohlgy,
    (I know this is months after your post.)
    Control of the iMic volume is in the Preferences pane called "Sound". You can set the output and the input levels there.
    Remember the iMic's position switch works only for the imput, either close to the microphone icon for "microphone" or away from it for "line in".
    I use the iMic exclusively.

  • Audio line level input gain too high

    I've had this problem since getting my macbook 3 months ago. The line level input gain seems to be set very high no matter what & it still is too high after going into system preferences/sound & adjusting the input volume all the way down. I bought a Griffin imic thinking that might help getting around the problem, but it's just as overloading with the imic as using the macbook's built-in line input. Has anyone else experienced this? Any fixes?

    I want to connect it with my Audigy 2 ZS, I don't know which cable I need, and what I have to do?!

    MorbidArchangel,
    You can use a cable like this to connect your A2ZS to your home theater system if it has the requisite number of RCA jacks.

  • How to adjust line spacing

    Can you adjust the line spacing in Dreamweaver or does it have to be done by code? And how so?

    Line-spacing on what?  Headings, Lists, Paragraphs...?  With CSS rules, you can define line spacing for all selectors in the body rules.  Or you can specify different line-heights on individual selectors.
    CSS global rule (applied to all selectors):
    body {line-height: 100%}
    CSS more specific rule (applied only to named selectors):
    #header p {
    line-height: 2;
    #footer p {
    line-height: 1.5;

  • How to add lines level detail.

    So far I did not include the line level details into the system. Now we have decided to add the line level data. I am thinking to create another object with line no. Am I going in Right Direction?

  • How to adjust audio level on timeline?

    Hi,
    I want to adjust the audio level using the pen tool on an audio track of the timeline... and I've done it before, but I can't for the life of me remember how. I've imported a voiceover, and have a separate track with the background music. How do I adjust the music level up/down at the point where the narration kicks in/out?
    Thanks very much!
    Vic

    Click on the Clip Overlays button (the zig-zag line at the bottom left of the Timeline window). That will give you a pink line in the middle of your audio tracks where you can use the pen tool.

  • How to adjust line sampling frequency in photoshop CC on surface pro 3

    I just got a Surface Pro 3 so that I could work on my art on the go. I am used to working on a mac with a cintiq, but fell for the hype that photoshop was optimized to work with SP3. However, when I try to use the brush tool, my lines look AWFUL! no matter what I do, the lines are wavy and messy looking. I read that PSCC raised the sampling frequency rate so that the line would look better, but I think THAT is exactly why it looks awful. the Surface pro seems to be picking up EVERY microscopic twitch. I cant work like this ... and I am surely not the only person using PSCC on the SP3, as they're ADVERTISED to work together. How do I adjust the sampling frequency so that my line looks as smooth as it does on a Wacom in photoshop? ...because THAT image below.. looks like crap.

    I'm not an artist so I don't draw using my Surface pro 3.  Many have the same issue with wacom tablets and cintigu from what I read.  They seem to be able to solve their concerns by installing a plugin Lazy Nezumi Pro - Mouse and Pen Smoothing for PhotoShop and other Apps Remember I don't draw and have not installed that plug-in so I can not state that it works well on a surface pro 3.
    Doing a Web search  I found this I quote
    Hi guys,
    I'm the author of Lazy Nezumi Pro!
    Here's the situation with the Surface Pro 3: I'm not 100% sure, but I think the people who got LNP to work with the SP3 the ones who have Photoshop CC 2014, which uses the new Windows 8 native tablet API (instead of Wintab, which is very old tech). If you have this version, make sure you enable Windows Ink for it to work right. It's possible that the N-Trig Wintab implementation is just buggy, or that it's doing something very differently than what LNP is expecting (this is probably the case since I have reports that PS works fine without LNP). Unfortunately I won't know more until I get a SP3 myself and do some testing/debugging.
    I'm sorry I can't help more right now, but I'll keep you updated!

  • How to adjust black levels

    I have a XBR65X930C Sony and am struggling with the black parts of the picture. The entire picture is pretty dark since I put it in cinema mode and the black portion of the screen is just that, black. No detail. Can youi tell me which attibutes to change?

    I guess it depends on what element of the picture you want to control. I have a XBR-55X850C. I believe that the UI and settings are similar, but there may be some differences.
    Personally, I use a preset as a starting point, and then I'll go from there, either changing settings, or going to the 'Custom' setting, and start filling out the settings similar to another preset, making adjustments to taste along the way.
    These are found under Picture Adjustments > Advanced Settings. In here, the category you should focus on is Brightness.
    Your concern is that areas that are black are too deep of a black to your liking, and showing no detail correct?
    You may want to tinker with some of the following
    Contrast - Maybe mess around with this, sometimes a higher/lower contrast can help differentiate smaller differences in lighting.
    Black Level - I believe this simply adjusts how deep the blacks are on the picture.
    Under that there are some setting specific to the higher end models like yours. The X-tended Dynamic Range setting is closely tied to how blacks look. Maybe you want to lower that to make the blacks less deep.
    I wouldnt worry too much about the 'Brightness' setting as I believe thats how bright the LED lights are (similar to brightness on a smartphone), and don't actually change the picture at all.
    This may be a good resource for you too: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-brand/sony/x930c/settings

  • After adjusting the levels in a file the changes don't stay. How do I fix this?

    Hello helpful people,
    I'm running Photoshop CS5 on an iMac. I started with a scanned tiff that was emailed to me, a black on white ink drawing. I changed it from a tiff to a greyscale image and saved as psd, then converted it to RBG 8bit. When I open the psd file I see that it's in RBG 8 bit and there's no asterisk (*) by the file name, so my work space and file are compatible. I tried to adjust the layers to dull the black lines in the drawing, and although I can see the changes in preview, the corrections don't stay and the image reverts back to the original bold, black lines. I decided to change my background layer to a regular layer and make the edits there. However, when I change my background layer by unlocking it and changing the name, I notice that my file suddenly has an asterisk (*) after the name and my same attempts to change the levels aren't working. I'm not entirely sure if it's a compatibility issue with the work space, a file extension issue (psd), or something all together unknown to me. Any direction on how to adjust the levels so that my changes stay would be much appreciated - and furthermore, any advice on how to keep my files and work space in sync would also be helpful. Thank you. If it helps to know, I'm in painting mode within photoshop, which isn't my regular setting, but I thought it would help since I want to add color to this black an white drawing.
    Sincerely,
    LauraMay

    Zoom in to 100% before judging the quality of your adjustments on high contrast or noisy images.
    While zoomed out, you're seeing a preview applied to the down sampled (averaged) pixels.

  • Mini jack headsets line level or mic level?

    Can someone please tell me if they have tested the mini jack headsets with a mac.  I know for a fact that if the microphone doesn't provide a line level input, that you won't be able to use this type of headset on a mac.  Even if you have the physical ports needed on your mac and the mac knows how to interpret the mic signal, you won't be able to use the headset unless it provides a line level input.

    G4 Minis do not have optical out - only analog.
    Line-level seems to be a strenght of analog signal - according to this WikipediA article. Whether the G4 will adjust the signal depending on which type of cable you use or always send the same signal is unknown to me, but there is no option in System Preferences nor in Audio MIDI Setup (in /Applications/Utilities) to specify which kind of signal can be sent.

  • How to adjust volume on Audio Timelines

    A couple questions about volume adjustment on the various Audio Timelines on Premiere Pro CS 5.
    1) How to adjust volume level of an mp3 on the Audio 2 timeline?
    2) How to adjust or mute volume of an 'individual' video clip on the Video 1 and Audio 1 timeline? (I have many clips on the timeline and know how to mute them all, but in this case, I'm looking to only mute certain clips in the timeline.)

    Along with the material covered in the Help File, that Ann linked to, see this ARTICLE. It goes into a little more detail on the differences between Clip Keyframes and Track Keyframes (generated with Audio Mixer). While the effect of those can be the same, there are nuances, that one should make note of.

  • AME line level rule creation ?

    Hi,
    Kindly let me know how to create line level rules in Approval Management Engine.
    Requirement is such that I have a header and there are lines associated with it. Each line follows a different approval flow.
    Once all the lines are approved the header should become approved.
    Kindly let me know how this could be achieved using AME.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    Primarily the job of AME is to provide you with a list of approvers based the way you have configured the same.
    Now, it is possible that you can check the requisition lines and check whether a line is project based or Task based
    and you will also be able to pull the approver list.
    But, the question is (as mentioned earlier PranitSaha), how do you break the requisition into different lines and send them for different approvals?
    I mean, how do you generate different transaction_id for each of the requisition lines if the requisition is at the header level.
    Though you can get the list of approvers, the requisition may be going for approval only once.
    For Eg, in Payables the workflow is designed to send the invoice for approval at the line level.
    So, how do you handle it if the requisition is submitted for approval at the header level. You may have to check if the Product allows you to do that.
    What is possible in AME is you can review the requisition lines whether they are Project based or Task based and you can bring in all the approvers
    in the approver list.
    Thanks and Regards
    Niru
