How to allow the form completor to PRINT the form?

I'm designing a capital campaign form that requires the person to sign it and mail it in. Frankly, it doesn't need to be a FormsCentral form but it's far more convenient for me (can't get any better reason than that!) AND it creates the database even though that's not the prime interest. What I'd like to do is use FormsCentral, have the form completed online so that we capture the data, but when the person his submit (if possible) it also prints at their end.
Please say it's possible.

You can set up "Email Reciepts" on the Options tab which would send an email to the submitter when they submit the form (assuming they enter their email address which you can make a required field). The format is a list in the email and you can select for empty fields to not be included. This email can be printed for a confirmation reciept.
There is also a place for feature ideas, you could add or vote on an idea to have a PDF of the responses sent in the email receipt so the submitter could print out the PDF and would have the form as they had submitted it.

Folks,
until recently a lab assistant took measurements and filled the data into a paper form (see attached pdf). Now we are building a test stand that does the measurement semiautomatically. The software of the test stand will be programmed in LabVIEW, of course. The test stand shall generate a printed protocol very similar to the attached pdf in future as well.
What's the best way to fill the acquired data into the form and to print the form afterwards? The form can be read by our code in either pdf or html. There is no Microsoft Office installed on the computer.
Modifying the html code? Converting the pdf to a picture and fill the data into the picture? Any hint will be highly appreciated.

Hmmm... must have misunderstood what you were saying.
XSL is a language that allows you to generate an HTML document. The XSL basically defines the style, and the XML specifies the data. HTML is the combination. You can find out more here.
Unfortunately, since you don't have Office, you won't be able to use the ActiveX interface to control Word, so that's out.
With the template in HTML format you could use the DOM for an HTML file to set the value of the HTML elements. The easiest way to do this is to use IE (I'm assuming you're on Windows here) to open the HTML template and then you can use the DOM from there. As for how feasible this is, it would depend on your HTML format. Can you post the template in HTML format?
With the template in PDF format I know that some PDF files that are forms can be generated in such a way that they still act like forms when you open them in, say, Acrobat Reader. Acrobat has an ActiveX interface so you should be able to programmatically do this, but I can't say for sure. You can check the Adobe site for more info. You just need to make sure it doesn't require the full version of Acrobat.

Form will not print the typed information?

My forms will not print the typed information only the form itself as a blank form.
I have Acrobate 8 Professional V. 8.3.1
Please advise on how to correct this annoying problem that started with the latest update.

For Macintosh the AdobeViewer Plugins does not function and Hasn't since Acrobat 8. Adobe has no intention of fixing it, I received a nasty reply: what feature do you want removed in order fix the problem. Its not worth it and we have no intention of ever fixing it. However its shipped and installed on the Mac version
The only PDF Plugin that works is PDFBrowser Plugin by Schubert of Germany, and it appears he has discontined updating although Thankfully It works in OSX.8 with most mdern Updates. You can Only fill out forms by opening Chrome, iCab , and OperaNext only Safari doesn't work and any product using the Gecko Rendering engine (Mozilla Products , FireFox and SeaMonkey Form Fields don't work or crash the browser. (depending upon version of the pdfBrowser Plugin).

How to list printers on the client machine to print the documents in ADF

If you use the same Adobe Reader versions with the same PDF on Windows 7 and XP, then I would expect the outcome to be the same.
Is this a local or online PDF?
If local, is the file really exactly the same?
If online, in what browser?

Also, If i chose a file that was already in light room to print, even though I have the chosen file up in the developing mode, it will instead print the most recent file that I added to lightroom. If found a way to work around these problems, (check make this the copy in the soft proofing, and copy my settings and delete and reload the old files) but it's a slight hassle and it didn't use to do this. Not sure why it changed. Could I have accidentally changed a setting?

I finally got to my references. This had to do with "soft proofing" on screen in Photoshop.
So this may not help you at all. Re: Strange sRGB soft-proofing behavior So go ahead and leave that setting at Basic.
However there is a Color Management forum that you also go to and see if anyone has answers for your particular problem.

How can I eliminate blank responses when printing the submited form?

I am using a lot of skip logic on an employment application. When printing the application out, I have many pages that don't need to be there. I get the same thing on the email notice I receive, even though I have the checkbox marked not to include blank responses.

Hi Jay;
When you say you are printing out the submitted from, are you using the "Download Response as PDF"? There isn't any way to hide unanswered questions in the PDF. I was trying to think if you could export responses as Excel and hide the unanswered columns but since those would be different per responder that would not work. I am not sure of a way to do this at the moment, if I come up with something I will respond again.
Regarding the emails, there is not an option to hide blank responses in the "Email Notifications" (that goes to you, the author). There is an option in the "Email Receipts" for the "Email Submission Reciept" that goes to the person who submitted the form (assuming they enter their email into an email field you selected), in there is an option to include empty fields (ommited by default).
You may want to add a feature request to the ideas page for the "Email Notification" to have an option to exclude blank responses, you can do that here by clicking "Create an idea" in the upper right: http://forums.adobe.com/community/formscentral?view=idea

What is the best way to print the contents within a scrolling textbox in a fillable form?

I have created a form using Acrobat 9 Pro which contains several text boxes that allow for unlimited text. When printing out completed forms, any text that requires scrolling will not print. Is there any way to be able to print the contents of all text boxes regardless of length of content?

Yes, when you set the font size to Auto, the font size shrinks to include all the entered text in the visible area. Otherwise the hidden the text is not displayed and you see observe a "+" sign. You might also want to consider the option to make your form flowable using Adobe LiveCycle Designer.

Check the settings for each quiz question to verify they are set to report a score to the quiz. At the moment, from what I can see in your Advanced Interaction dialog, they may not be reporting to the quiz.

How do I get the packing slips to print the selections made under a buy now button

So I started using paypal packing slips about a year and half ago, instead of manually copying the info into an excel document version to create the packing slip. I use the packing slips to make sure I have the order correct and done before packing and then printing out the label. For the past year and half if it is a 'buy now' button with drop down selections, I have to manually edit each one to copy and paste the info from the payment notification into the end of 'thank you' text field. and in the process I have to remember to de-select the save button each time so I don't accidently put that info on my next order. Is there a way either with the button itself or the packing slip to select to have it print out the selections made on the packing slip? Given that in a few cases there are several drop downs, I need them all to list. It would save me a little time with each order and more importantly make sure I have the correct information on the correct packing slip. The information is there. just have not figured out how to automatically have it print on the packing slip. For trivia: I have no problem when I send an invoice or have an item with no selections, but for those items that have selections, because most of my items have several similar variations available, it would be really nice to be able to have it automatically put that information on the packing slip.

Could you check your "shrink to fit" and scaling settings? Easiest way is:
tap the Alt key > File > Page Setup
The default would be
* Scale: 100
* Shrink to fit checked (this disables editing the Scale box, but you can uncheck it, edit, then re-check it)
If those are at their default settings, perhaps they do not work well for particular pages? You can use Print Preview to examine how shrink-to-fit works on that page and override it by using a different percentage instead.
Occasionally Firefox printer data gets garbled and manual adjustments don't seem to work. In that case, you can "reset" those printer settings. This article has the steps: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problems_printing_web_pages#Reset_printer

I can't print PDF files from the latest Firefox; asks which program created the files. None of the options listed will print the files, such as IRS forms. Running Mac OS 10.6.8.

I run Mac OS 10.6.8.
When I try to print a PDT file, such as an IRS form, Firefox opens a small dialog box asking what program was used to create the file I wish to print.No matter which of the selections I choose, the file will not print.
I have the latest Adobe Reader installed.
Note that these files always open normally in Safari.

app.execMenuItem most certainly does work with Reader - what problems are you running into trying to use it?
As for developing Reader plug-ins - yes, some of the SDK methods aren't available to Reader. If you want to change the appearance of an annotation in Reader, you would need to acquire the Cos object of that annotation and modify its appearance dictionary manually.
