How to annotate a folder in LR 5?

I'm editing many folders for a book project and want to 'mark' a folder when I've edited the images in it.
This will help me save time and know my progress on this task without writing down the names of folders
and keeping a list.

Months later, jf's Folder Status plugin emerged, much to some people's delight. - to each their own ya know... - no such thing as "best practice" in my opinion .
I do two things:
* Use smart collections for publishing - thus nothing that isn't publish-worthy is ever published (barring mistakes of course).
* Have criteria that are checked pre-export - so photos aren't necessarily removed from publish collections if there is something which demands pre-export attention, but won't be published until such attention is given.
Lotsa ways to work...

John Beardy's smart "workflow" collections (adapted) may be just what you need - but they can't be used on a folder-by-folder basis (thanks to Adobe removing the feature which allows smart collections to function as folder filters). So if you really want to select a folder and work on it, then go to the next folder, and work on it... then consider doing something similar conceptually, but using library filters instead.

First delete all the DIR's inside the folder using delete button. Later you can delete the Folder.

You can control this using authorization objects in DMS.

Hello Neil,
Here's a challenging adjunct to the physical location of trash question above. I moved home folder of my login to a different partition (data only) which all worked fine. Then I trashed the original home folder which was on the Boot OSX partition (just to be tidy as it was not needed any longer) now the MBA says "cannot logon to this user for the time being". So I clearly need to return the original home directory back from trash to my logon folder (eve though it is not really used).
However, how can I access my original logon user directory in trash when I am unable to logon? Logged on to the root directory and using your go to folder solution above I have found the trash for root but I am unable to find the trash for my actual logon (which contains the trashed home directory)!
Any thoughts sir? Thanks for your help.

How to create a folder with date each day?

I've not used Automator, just once to "create" a workflow to create a new folder with a name; but what I want is this:
Each morning at 12:01 am, a new folder to be created with the correct date as the name of the folder.
So for tomorrow, Sunday 23 Nov 2008 at 12:01, I'd suddenly have a folder on my Hard Drive that would have the date like 23 Nov 2008 or 11/23/2008 or 23-11-2008 or similar.
Then at the end of a week I'd have 7 of these; - but I can manually trash them-- I want to create these on my HD since I backup via SuperDuper! each morning (automatically) at 3:35 am (incremental backup to an external La Cie HD) and I want to know if was done, so by having a folder with the date on it I can open the external HD and if I see that that folder with the recent date is there, then I'm confident the BackUp was run.
I have been able to create a workflow to create a folder in Automator, but not sure how to:
1. Have the folder created automatically each day at 12:01
2. How to have the folder label be the date

Amend the path with your Hard Disk name and username. Save as an application to anywhere suitable.
