How to apply style to submit button

Hi All,
I am developing an application in struts where I have multiple buttons on a single form. Each button corresponds to different action to be executed, and to achieve this I have used DispatchAction.
Since I need to submit the data, I am looking for some ways through which I can put some style on submit button, such as putting an image over the submit button,giving it some border, some color and so on. I want to do this through CSS or if not possible through CSS then as inline style.
I am using struts-html.tld tag library to render all the HTML controls.
Any idea how to put images over submit buttons, or if putting an image is not possible then how to have style for it so that the look of submit button changes and the user feels as if it is a graphic button.
Any help is appriciated.
Thanks.

You do realise there is an <html:image> tag which
generates the html graphical submit button (ie <input
type="image">) ?
There are two tags in struts:
<html:img> - generates an image tag: <img src="...">
<html:image> - generates a graphical submit buttonYea, I do know this. But the problem is I don't have one submit button in my page. There are mroe than one buttons and each button calls a different method of the Action class. I could not get a way to pass the parameter name and parameter value using
<html:image> tag.
To be more clear, I need CRUD operations in one page and they all refer to one Action class. If I use html:image tag, I can't call seperate functions as it will then call the execute method. Also I don't want to have any javascript to call the relevant method from the Action class.
Is there any way out? I am not a pro in struts, just s beginner, so any help is more than appreciated.
Thanks.

    Hmmm... Submit button doesn't need a double click at all. Maybe you are talking about the two-step process? When you click on Submit, the feedback appears with the message to click anywhere or press Y. Is that what you are talking about? If you are talking about a real double-click, something must be wrong in your file. And which version are you using?

  • How can i disable a submit button and execute submit_action method on click

    Good Day,
    On my page I have a submit button that execute the submit_action method of the page backing bean that submit data captured on the page into a database and activate another class that send mail at the same time on a click of the submit button,the mail process takes a while before returning back to the page.I was able to disable the submit button to prevent the user from keep click while the process is running but the issue is on clicking the submit button it only disable the submit button without executing the submit_action method of the page backing bean.How can i disable the submit button and execute submit_method of the backing bean at the same time.
    Thanks in advance.

    I tried this out on one of my pages to see if it works.
    First, I added the following JavaScript to my submit button's onClick event:
    this.disabled=true; return true;When I clicked the submit button, it was disabled but the form was not submitted.
    I deleted the JavaScript from the onClick event and added the following JavaScript to the form's onSubmit event:
    var button = document.getElementById("form1:submitButton"); button.disabled=true; return true;When I click the submit button, it was disabled and the form was submitted but the button's action method was not called.
    The next thing I tried was to change the onSubmit event code:
    var button = document.getElementById("form1:submitButton"); setTimeout("button.disabled=true", 500); return true;This seemed to work. The difference was that I added a 1/2 second delay before disabling the button.
    See if that works for you. If not then I'm fresh out of ideas.

    You need to use the right arrow on the remote to go all the way to the right. The submit button will be highlighted and you can then press select on the remote to proceed.

  • How do I make a submit button work on a mobile oriented page?

    How do I make a submit button work on a mobile oriented page?  I have the .html file and the .data file (and one other kind), but it just spins and spins and spins when I try to send the form in (for an absence).  I'd like it to work on all devices.  Help?

    HTML forms don't do anything.  You need a form processing script to gather and process form data.  Which server-side scripts does your web hosting plan support -- php, asp, asp.net, perl?  This will determine which scripts you can use with your form.

    how can i put a submit button in a survey and it send to my email?

    Hi williamm89908146,
    You need to open the form in which you want to put the submit button,
    then you have to choose 'Add new field' under Tasks pane on the right Hand side of the window.
    Choose 'Ok' Button
    Place the button at desired Location
    Change the field name to 'Submit'
    Click on 'All Properties' (Button Properties window Will open up)
    Click on Actions Tab and then on 'Select Action:'
    Choose 'Open a web Link' from the Drop Down Menu and then Click 'Add'
    another window will appear in which you have to type this:    mailto:[your email address], eg: mailto:[email protected] later click close
    Click Close Form editing on the right hand side of the window
    Clicking on the Button would open up your default email client and your address would appear in 'To' field.
    Please feel free if you face any challenges in following through these steps.

  • How do I set the Submit button to send the information directly to a specific email address?

    How do I set the Submit button to send the information directly to a specific outside email address? It isn't clear to me where or how it says that you can do this.

    Is this for a web form or a PDF? If PDF, you would have to use Acrobat to edit the form and replace the submit button action with either a "Submit a form" action using a mailto type URL, or use the doc.submitForm statement to do the same.

    Hi,
    The submit button is included automatically. If you are distributing your form as HTML you can use the Test tab to preview your form. If you are distributing your form as PDF, you would need to generate the PDF to see the submit button.

  • How do i make a submit button work on mobile with my PDF

    I do not want to use the Adobe Forms Central. I have a client that wants a PDF on their mobile site to be readable and editable on an iPad. The submit button does not work. Is there a work around or another means to make this work. I realize the PDF form can be emailed via the iPad, but not all the people or "customers" know the email address to send to, so how can i make this work. Any suggestions or anyone else encounter this issue? I do not want to have to ask my client to ask his customers to go purchase software, when they should be able to just download adobe reader to fill out the form and send it like we can do on a regular desktop.

    I created the PDF and at the end placed the submit button with the following actions (screenshots included):
    Setting for the Submit form:
    Submit button at the bottom of the last page of the application:
    Maybe I have it all set up incorrectly, but from all that I have read it works fine on the desktop, but when the iPad is used, the submit button becomes inactive. I thought there could be some work around to make it work other than the "actions" or javascript, but I have also seen other forms that have javascript work on the iPad, so it has me totally confused.
    Thank you.

  • How do I remove the submit button?

    I have a form that provides information only.  Is it possible to remove the submit button.  There is also a text input box at the base of the form with no provision for deleteing. How can I delete this?.

    When you convert a web form that you've created in FormsCentral and download as a PDF, you have the option of not including a submit button. If you created a PDF form with the desktop version of Acrobat, it won't have a submit button unless you upload it to the FormsCentral service and enable it for submission.
    Still, you can remove it in Acrobat by first saving a non-enabled version by selecting: File > Save A Copy
    and opening the copy (it doens't happen automatically) and deleting the button.

  • How do you customize a submit button in comments module?

    Hi,
    I want to create a customized submit button for the comments module. Right now, the submit button shows up as a css button, i.e. an ugly gray square:
    http://www.graeagle.com/_blog/Graeagle_World/post/Artistic_Musings_in_Graeagle/
    I have a button here http://www.graeagle.com/images/btn_submit.jpg
    that I would like to swap out with the current css button.
    Alternatively, I would be happy with just the factory system button for the OS.
    I have looked at the modulestylesheets.css file and it appears the 'cat_button' style controlled the submit button.
    I have tried to modify the css, yet nothing changed.
    The issue seems to be only with the comments submit button since I have successfully changed the button on all my web forms for this site.
    I have searched the KB but have found no real guide. So, I would most certainly appreciate a step by step approach since I'm coming up empty.
    Cheers,
    Michael

    Hey Liam,
    Thanks so much! The thing I neglected was changing the code on the Blog Details Module Template. So, from your links, I added new css code to my modulestylesheets.css file with the following:
    submit
    .submitBtn {
        font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;
        font-size: 18px;
        color: #FFF;
        padding: 5px 40px 5px 40px;
        border: 1px solid #999;
        text-shadow: 0px 1px 1px #666;
        text-decoration: none;
        -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 3px #111;
        -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 3px #111;
        box-shadow: 0 1px 3px #111;
        border-radius: 4px;
        -moz-border-radius: 4px;
        -webkit-border-radius: 4px;
        background: #333333;
        background: -moz-linear-gradient(top, #333333 0%, #4F4F4F 50%, #333333 51%, #33333B 100%);
        background: -webkit-gradient(linear, left top, left bottom, from(#333333), to(#33333B), color-stop(0.4, #4F4F4F), color-stop(0.5, #111111), color-stop(.9, #33333B), color-stop(0.9, #33333B));
        filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient( startColorstr='#333333', endColorstr='#33333B', GradientType=0 );
        cursor: pointer;
    .submitBtn:hover {
        border: 1px solid #FFF;
    Then under the Site Manager:Module Templates:Blog Post Details Layout I changed the following html code:
    <input type="submit" value="Submit" />
    TO
    <button type="submit" class="submitBtn"><span>Submit</span></button>
    And it worked like  a charm!
    I wanted to post this here for future reference and help.
    Again, thanks for the great tips!
    Cheers!

  • Once you create a printable form in Acrobat Pro 9, how do you add a submit button?

    I have created printable PDF forms, but don't know how to add a submit button so they can be filled out and emailed. Currently if the people filling them out only have Reader they can only be printed out. They cannot be saved, and they cannot be emailed. Can the submit functionality be added in Adobe Acrobat Pro, or do you have to do that with a third party software?

    Yes, you can use the Extend Features in Adobe Reader, shown here but grayed out since I don't have a form open.
    When you do that, the people filling out the form will be able to Save a copy of the form for themselves and to forward a copy of the PDF to you. You might want to make a copy of the form first if you might have to make changes in the future since the Extended form cannot be edited directly.

  • How do I put a submit button?

    I am using Forms Central. I have created the text fields, but I can't find where to add the submit button!

    You cannot create forms in iWeb.
    Create a form and paste the code in a HTML snippet.
    Or create a separate page with the form and display the page in a HTML snippet with an iframe.
    There are lots of tutorials out there that teach you how to create forms and put the data in a database.
    Usually with PHP and MySQL.
    iWeb has no knowledge of that.
