How to avoid blank page in the report?

adding a field in the grouping and checking the page break option means then we are getting blank page as the first page of the report? How to avoid this blank page?

Usually blank pages appear as first page due to the presence of filler lines (//////) on top of report header.Please ensure that the top header is exactely started from top of page itself.

  • How to avoid blank page in BI Publisher

    Hi,
    I am doing an invoice print using XML Publisher and there is a xml tag which stores whether I should suppress the invoice from printing or not.
    I am checking for this flag in the template and then printing the data. So when a situation comes that the flag is Y - I am not getting any contents (Which is correct) - but I am getting a blank page in the output on that page. I would need to avoid that - Is there a way I can do this.
    My template code for the suppress bit currently is,
    <?for-each@section:G_CONS_INV_NUMBER?>
    <?if:CP_SUPPRESS_INV_FLAG!='Y'?>
    -- here comes my contents and logos ---
    <?end if?>
    <?end for-each?>
    The suppress is happening but in the output I am getting a blank page

    This script is a copy of a std script.
    It has 3 pages - First Next Last
    My First page has all the required data.
    My second page is empty with out any values.
    I am getting the blank page as Page 2 when executing. How can we avoid it ?
    Senthil

    Hi Senthil,
    Please see the below points:
    1. Please check what have you defined as the NEXT PAGE for your first page. If so change it and make the first page itself as the next page.
    2. Check your main Window, may be there is blank line at the last of the main window, so check that abd remove that,so you won't get the blank page
    Please see the link which is similar to your problem:

    If you are using page break, have it conditionally like
    <?if:position()!=last()?><?split-by-page-break:?><?end if?>

  • How to remove blank pages from WebI Report in view page layout option

    Hi,
             I am working in Business Objects XIR2 environment. I have a WebI report with several sections. I need to show the report as a book with 69 sections (each section on new page). there are 69 sections on cost center and each cost center section has almost 10 sections embedded in it. When i see in regular view - I only see 69 pages but when I try to see in "View Page Lay out" option, there is one blank page added after each results page.
    Please let me know how to remove this blank page. I need to give users the option to download the book as PDF on to their machine. Now, when I download to my machine, I see one blank page after each results page.
    Thanks in advance.

    Jus convert your report in Page Layout mode and see if your first pafe is getting expand in the second page.
    Now check if there are any cell going into second page.
    - if there are any blank cell which is there after table.
    you have to check formating very carefull.

    Subject:      How to set the number of rows per page dynamically in a report
         Doc ID:      Note:122714.1      Type:      SCRIPT
         Last Revision Date:      07-NOV-2000      Status:      PUBLISHED
    PURPOSE
    This article shows how to set the number of rows per page dynamically according
    to the user parameter specified.
    INSTRUCTIONS
    Follow these steps:
    1. In the Object Navigator under Data Model-->User Parameters, create an user
    parameter P_1 -- this parameter specifies the number of rows you want to
    print per page
    datatype: number.
    2. In the Data Model Editor, create the query and the layout according to your
    requirements.
    Let's assume that we have the following:
    Q_1: Select empno, deptno ename from emp
    order by deptno, ename
    G_1 has the columns empno, deptno, ename
    3. In the Data Model Editor, create the following summary columns:
    CS_numrow will be numbering the rows within the detail group
    (created within G_1).
    Set the following parameters:
    Name: CS_numrow
    Function: count
    Source: <any column that does not accept nulls> for instance, empno
    Reset at: Report
    CS_total_rows will calculate the total of rows retrieved
    (created at the report level)
    Set the following parameters:
    Name: CS_total_rows
    Function: count
    Source: <any column that does not accept nulls> for instance, empno
    Reset at: Report
    4. In the Layout Model Editor, create a Group Frame M_1 within the repeating
    frame, below the fields empno, deptno, and ename. You may have to stretch
    the existing frames to be able to fit this in.
    F_enmpno F_deptno F_ename
    --------------------------------------------- <<<< create the group
    frame here
    5. Set the properties for the Group Frame M_1 as follows:
    Print condition: First
    Object: Enclosing Object
    Sizing:
    Vertical: variable
    Horizontal: fixed
    Check the box "Page Break before".
    6. Create a Format trigger for this frame M_1 as follows:
    function M_1FormatTrigger return boolean is
    /* prints until a row number is product of P_1 */
    /* if row number is 5 and P_1 = 5, MOD is 0 */
    /* then it prints the frame, doing a page break */
    begin
    if :CS_total_rows <> :CS_numrow then -- avoiding blank page at the end
    if mod(:CS_numrow,:P_1) = 0 then
    return (TRUE);
    else
    return(false);
    end if;
    else
    return (false);
    end if;
    end;
    NOTE: This assumes that the report is tabular. If you have a break group, this
    logic can be applied for the detail group.

  • Printing Blank pages for SSRS Reports in Firefox browser

    I have created an SSRS Report that works well on chrome, but when I use the site in Firefox the SSRS Page prints blank pages though the report displays properly. I have tried every thing like reducing table width. I am using the report viewer control.
    Sanjeev Menon

    Hi Sanjeev,
    Generally, if the report display properly in the browser, it should be also work well when we print the report. And I can’t reproduce the scenario in my own environment. As to this issue, I recommend that you can try to run it in compatibility mode or use
    IE explorer to print the report.
    If this issue still exists, please try to update the report viewer control to latest release and check this issue again.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to avoid printing an additional blank page at the end of the report

    I have a report which has 3 panels in the main section of the report, about 3 pages in size. 1st & 2nd panels are enclosed in a repeating frame, and 3rd panel in a different repeating frame.
    The vertical panels per page in the property inspector of the main section of the report is kept as 2. And thus, when I am printing the report I am getting an additional blank page at the end. Also I tried to make the vertical panels per page to 1 in the property inspector for main section but the following error is being returned:
    REP-0801: Layout canvas must remain large enough to fit all layout objects
    Can anyone tell me how to handle this?

    Hi,
    I too faced similar prob.
    But when i made the After Page Value property of the report as blank it removed the blank page for me .
    Try this and let me know whether it has helped you.

  • Blank Page at the end of the report

    Hi
    In my report i did not have any pagebreak or section break.
    But some times i am getting extra blank page at the bottom of the report .
    How to avoid this ..
    Thanks in Advance
    Have a Nice day.

    Hi,
    It is very probable that you are have unncessary space somewhere before the end of your template.
    Use Ctrl+Shift+* to show the end of line markers and remove the unnecessary spaces in your
    template then run again the view report.
    cheers

  • Blank page at the beginning of the report

    I have a Report with a Group Above. I wanted a new page when a new Group began, so I selected the Group and changed Page Break Before to yes. It did start a new page with each Group, BUT there is now a blank page at the beginning of the report. How do I get rid of the blank page?
    Thanks, Wayne

    Hi Wayne,
    I don't know whether the solution provided by Jrg works for you or not. But I solved the problem in a different way.
    Insted using a page break on a repeating frame, I placed a boilerplate item in a corner just below the frame with a " "(white space) and I set the boilerplace item's property "Page Break After/Before" to "Yes". You understand me? just cheating ;)
    That worked for me.
    Cheers,

  • How to get the text field in the header for only first page of the report

    Hi,
    I am developing reports in BI Publisher Enterprise where i am facing problem i.e., i have to get some text field in header,for only first page in the result but it is displaying in all the other pages of the report in result.So,please if you have any idea of how to solve it, please reply.It is required as early as possible.
    Thanks in Advance

    Invalid path? What are you doing? Writing the report output to an invalid directory?
    Where are your terms and conditions? It would be very easy just to put them in a database table and select them in your report query.
