The Finder reports File information. The date and time of the photo are in the Photo's Exif metadata. The Finder has no awareness of this. All photos apps on any system do.

  • I am using Toast 11 to burn dvd's. With FCP10.1.3  I could go into the FCP shared folder grab the encoded .m2v file and drag it into Toast 11 and author dvd and burn.  How can you do this with FCP 10.1.4?

BenB it creates a disc image only and it's not in .m2v. I think it saved it as an Apple Pro Res 422 format instead. The disc image file format will not allow
Toast 11 to create menus etc.  Thanks for your help.

  • New to MAC. How to burn DVD of iMovie

Just created our first school project on iMovie but now cannot figure out how to burn DVD. Is it not possible? We are VERY unfamiliar with the Mac world.....thanks so much in advance!

    Hi
    I would in iMovie'08
    • move from Events to a new Project - building a movie
    • Share this to Media Browser
    • Close iMovie
    • Open iDVD
    • Import movie from Media Browser
    • Design the iMovie menu at Your liking
    • Set DVD burn-speed down to x4 or less in iDVD Preferences
    • Set at Pro-Quality encoding
    • Use a Good Quality DVD - I use Verbatim
    • I use DVD-R
    • I secure a minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-Up hard disk - so that iDVD runns OK.
    • Save as a DiskImage
    • Test this with Apple DVD-tool
    • If OK - Burn it with iDVD - or Apple Disk Util tool (need no re-calculation)

Unless you have some (illegal) ripping software to convert it to a playable format, iTunes doesn't play DVDs.

  • How to burn DVD and can i burn the same DVD later if its having any space..

How to burn DVD and can i burn the same DVD later if its having any space..?

This is called sessions, but it is not recommended and has been largely abandoned by software developers. This was a good thing in the late 1990’s, when opticals discs were quite expensive, and file size quite low.
applications which reportedly may do this are
    - isoBurn: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/40109/isoburn
    - others, I do not remember which ones, try SimpyBurns, Burn, Dragon Burn and LiquidCD, you will find all in macupdate.com, test which ones suit you.
Otherwise, I do not recommend you such time consuming and inefficient solutions, optical drives are being replaces by more capacitive, cheaper and more practical solutions, like external disks. But, if you insist, you will find what you are looking for.

You can drag them in from the Finder. I think you will have to drag one photo at a time, but you can experiment.
If you put into iPhoto, you can place them in an album and drag the album in all at once.

  • How to burn DVD with project from iMovie ?

Last year I had made several iMovie projects on a macbook pro. I was unable to burn them to a dvd so I ended up transfering them to a Windows computer and using ImgBurn and I successfully made playable DVDs.
I know have a Mac with Yosemite and I just finished a iMovie project. I need to burn it to a playable DVD. I've spent hours researching and trying to find a way. I have Video_TS and Audio_TS files, an iso file, and a mpg file. Surely, if you are able to create a "movie" there must be an easy way to burn it to a DVD?
If a Superdrive is able to burn DVD's shouldn't there be an option somewhere?
    I have iMovie 10.0.6
    Yosemite 10.10.1
    I do not have iDVD

I solved my own problem. After two full days of trying and having multiple videos files (iso, mp4, mpg,video_ts, audio_ts,etc) I was finally able to burn a playable DVD! I ended up using miDVD to burn it. I first exported my iMovie project as a file and opened up the Movies file and dropped it in there. From there it showed up in the miDVD program and it was super simple to get it burned to a dvd that works in dvd players and on my mac.

  • How to burn DVDs without the graphics?

I'm trying to burn a DVD for a client, with only the video piece on the DVD. However, the iDVD keeps putting up the graphics/themes/whichever you call them, and I can't get them off. I've tried autoplay, deleting the graphics - nothing works! I don't want to lose a paycheck over this, so can someone help me?
    Thanks

How to create a DVD in iDVD without menu (there are several options):
    1. Easy: Drop your iMovie in the autoplay box in iDVD's Map View, then set your autoplay item (your movie) to loop continously. Disadvantage: The DVD plays until you hit stop on the remote
    2. Still easy: If you don't want your (autoplay) movie to loop, you can create a black theme by replacing the background of a static theme with a black background and no content in the dropzone (text needs to be black as well). Disadvantage: The menu is still there and will play after the movie. You don't see it, but your disc keeps spinning in the player.
    3. Still quite easy but takes more time: Export the iMovie to DV tape, and then re-import using One-Step DVD.
Disadvantage: One-Step DVD creation has been known to be not 100% reliable.
    4. (My preferred method) Easy enough but needs 3rd party software: Roxio Toast lets you burn your iMovie to DVD without menu - just drag the iMovie project to the Toast Window and click burn. Disadvantage: you'll need to spend some extra $$ for the software. In Toast, you just drop the iMovie project on the Window and click Burn.
    5. The "hard way": Postproduction with myDVDedit (freeware)
    Tools necessary: myDVDedit ( http://www.mydvdedit.com )
    • create a disc image of your iDVD project, then double-click to mount it.
    • Extract the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to a location of your choice. select the VIDEO_TS folder and hit Cmd + I to open the Inspector window
    • Set permissions to "read & write" and include all enclosed items; Ignore the warning.
    • Open the VIDEO_TS folder with myDVDedit. You'll find all items enclosed in your DVD in the left hand panel.
    • Select the menu (usually named VTS Menu) and delete it
    • Choose from the menu File > Test with DVD Player to see if your DVD behaves as planned. If it works save and close myDVDedit.
    • Before burning the folders to Video DVD, set permissions back to "read only", then create a disc image burnable with Disc Utility from a VIDEO_TS folder using Laine D. Lee's DVD Imager:
    http://lonestar.utsa.edu/llee/applescript/dvdimager.html
Our resident expert, Old Toad, also recommends this: there is a 3rd export/share option that give better results.  That's to use the Share ➙ Media Browser menu option.  Then in iDVD go to the Media Browser and drag the movie into iDVD where you want it.
    Hope this helps!

  • Burned DVD to folder but no files were created

(Windows 7 64-bit) I completed a project and attempted to burn a disc (DVD) to folder.  All appeared normal during the compilation, etc, took a normal 15 minutes or so, Premiere Elements said it was done, but there were no files in the designated folder.  Quit & re-started Premiere Elements & tried again, same result.  Looked back through the 12 discs I've created recently & discovered one of those also empty.  Haven't re-installed Premiere Elements yet, that will be my next step.  Has anyone else had this problem, or does anyone have suggestions for trouble-shooting?

I deleted the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file, which didn't help.  Then, deleted the entire 12.0 folder, again didn't help.  In the process, I noted something that seems strange; perhaps a byproduct of having deleted the entire folder.  Under C:\Users\Bob\AppData\Roaming\Adobe are a Premiere Elements folder and a Premiere Elements 12.0 folder.  Both have sub-folders named 12.0.  The Premiere Elements 12.0\12.0 folder contains only a folder named "logs", which is dated today but is empty, and a "Trace Database.txt" file.  The Premiere Elements\12.0 folder contains subfolders "Layouts, logs, OLS, SC", and 14 files of several types, include the new Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that was presumably (re)generated after my deletion of the predecessor on my last attempt to burn to a folder.
Some answers to some of your previous questions:
    1.  My Adobe Premiere Elements Preview Files folder contains 26 files totalling 17.8 GB (this on a disk with 902 GB free space)
    2.  The specific DVD folder under Previews that I'm having trouble with is empty, but so are about half the other 12 folders that all (except one) seem to have worked.  I get the impression that these Previews are created only when I deliberately force a manual rendering, which I don't always do.
    3.  My Media Cache Files folder contains 236 files totalling 774 MB (on the same drive with 902 GB free).
    4.  The Edit\Preferences\Media dialog is pointed to another folder on that same 902 GB-free drive & I think the settings are all Adobe default: 5.00 GB Cache size, all boxes checked.  The resulting Media Cache folder contains 132 files at 97.7 kB, the Thumbnail Cache folder has 1 file of 31.4 MB.
    5.  I don't know what you mean by "pile-ups"; please explain.
    6.  Under Libraries\Documents I don't have an Adobe folder; just three locked out from me (My Music, My Pictures, My Video) & two others that wouldn't appear to be related to Premiere.  Another level down under Libraries\Documents is Desktop which does have an Adobe Premiere Elements 12 folder, under that PRE 12 and ReadMe folders.  In the PRE 12 folder are 6 folders & 59 files.  The files are all dated 9/24/2013 & the folders yesterday; I'm guessing that this stuff all is related to yesterday's (re)installation.
Any further ideas will be gratefully accepted.  In the meantime, I think I'll start a new project & see if it burns a disc.  The presently-troublesome one was started several weeks ago, then set aside while I did other stuff, & when I came back I went through a "workflow learning curve" again (at my age, this happens) & may have screwed something up that Premiere can't deal with.

  • How do I make iPhoto events with photo stream?

I am confused about how I am now supposed to download photos into iphoto to make Events.  Yesterday I plugged in my phone to import recent photos but when it did this I ended up with two of everything because photostream had already "imported" (?) them.  So, if that means I don't need to plug the iphone in pto import the photos, then how do I:
    1.  delete the photos from my phone that I would normally be deleting everytime i import via a wire?
    2.  make an event from the photos in the photo stream?
I also noticed that some of the photos from the same series of photos are still left on my phone--those are the only photos that are not duplicated.  I don't understand why they were left on my phone, nor is it clear to me whether the ones on my computer are from the "normal import" or from the "photo stream import".
Would love some clarity about this.

As far as the duplicates.... I don't know why it's doing that. If something comes to mind I'll let you know.
As far as using a cable...
You can still sync with iTunes (apps, music, photos etc) via Wi-Fi and only use the cable to charge the phone. That has nothing to do with Photostream. So you should have iTunes set up to sync the photos with a folder on your MBP.
As far as being away from your MBP for over 30 days....
Well, in that case whatever photos are older than 30 days will disappear from photostream, but they will still be in your phone's camera roll. As long as you don't lose or break your phone, you can transfer them to your MBP when you're home again (via iTunes or iPhoto or Image Capture). If you are concerned something will happen to your phone during those 30+ days away from your MBP, then you can use an option like Dropbox to save them online.

  • How can I save a folder with pictures in it, on PC or MAC? (Not Camera Roll)

    Dear Apple Community,
I want to save a Folder with pictures in it, that I created from the iPhone.. these photos (and videos) are available only in this folder and I don't want to loose them at all!
Whatever, how can I save this folders on my mac? and/or PC? And I don't mean the camera roll folder! Just this folder that I created on the iPhone.
Thanks in advance for you anwers!
    Best Regards,
    Luke

Not supported by Apple. The only photos that can be imported from an iPhone are photos in the camera roll.
