hello
some o-r mapping tools can cache the objects that have been queried,then next time these objects are required,it don't need to access the database again,it can also monitor the database updating.
i wonder how i can implement such "cache" function MANUALLY? because i DON'T want to use ANY o-r mapping tools. i only use the jdbc to query database,then generate the object.
who can give me some clue?? or articles? or sample codes??
note: i only want to know the BASIC idea of cache,and write a SIMPLE one,not the complex ones..

For what you are asking you would want to look at an independent caching product. Within Oracle's Application Server there is a Java Object Cache that may address your needs or alternatively there are several 3rd party products available on the market.

no you don't understand me,what i want to know is the
mechanism of the cache,and how to implement it myself
without using the o-r mapping tools.
the dao pattern can encapsulate the database
access,but it can NOT cache the object .First you need to define how the caching occurs.
- Can the data in the database change without going through your code?
- Are there multiple copies of your app running at the same time. If yes then what happens if one is updated?
- How many of these can there be and what impact will this have on memory?
- etc.
You also need to identify the 'identity' of an object.
A simple strategy....
- Some layer requests an object using the 'identity'.
- The database layer code looks in a hash for the 'identity'. If it finds it it returns it.
- If it doesn't find it it uses a DAO to load it, then puts it in the hash, then returns it.

I used a third party programme called Mackeeper UGHHH,it moved loads of files to the trash now i do not know where they originally came from or belong!! the put back option is in grey??how can i manually put these files back where they belong?SO upset!!

hello there thank u so much for ur reply!! ok i uninstalled mackeeper now and the put back option is still in grey im so confused...i tried restarting my computer like u said and put back still in grey??!! the files that are in my trash are everything from Accounts,address book plug-ins,address book,adobe,aim.........then stuff like apple,Audio,....to caches color pickers,colors,com.apple.TCC,to DVD player to facebook,google to ilifemedia browser to itunes to keychains to movie effects,preferences printers to skype...my Native instruments files BUT not all of them my garage band but not all of it...it seriously looks like my whole library is in the trash i tried to put things back where i THINK they belong and it just added the item or folder under where i thought it went and didnt restore functionality to for instance google chrome and all my book marks are there....they seem to be only certain things from my library that would have added some functionality to apps and programmes like my garageband is missing stuff photobooth wont work so on.......kinda looks a bit like this thats only the half of it!! When I want to clean (index.dat, Temp, Cookies, History..) running IE 8, I create another account and from this "new account" I move all the IE 8 contents to another folder, next I create a partition and move this folder to this partition, finally Format and Wipe this partition with Acronis
I know the locations where all the "garbage" stores in IE 8, but I am lost with Firefox

The urlclassifier3.sqlite file stores the encrypted contents of the phishing protection database and it is best to leave this file to avoid Firefox having to rebuild it.<br />
You can remove the file if it really gets to large (around 50 MB is not unusual).
The bookmarkbackups folder stores the daily created JSON backups with a maximum of 10.<br />
You can set that maximum in Firefox via the browser.bookmarks.max_backups pref on the about:config page.
It is best to leave the other files in the Firefox Profile Folder (Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\) intact, and use Clear Recent History if you want to remove data, to avoid database corruption.

You uncheck the music in your iTunes library on your computer and along with sync only checked songs and videos selected under the Summary selection for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, only checked songs in your iTunes library will be transferred to your iPhone or remain on your iPhone and the unchecked songs in your iTunes library that are currently on your iPhone will be removed when syncing.
Or make use of iTunes playlists and choose selected playlists, albums, artists under the Music selection for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes and select the playlists below that you want transferred to your iPhone.

Hi David,
Open the start menu, then select Control Panel in the right hand column. Open the Programs and Features section, type Apple in the search box at top right. You need to uninstall the components in the order suggested in the user tip.
Once all have been uninstalled reboot and use Windows Explorer to locate the named folders and delete them. Then reinstall.

How can I manually transfer album artwork from my library to my iPod

I downloaded album artwork to the songs in my library, and now I want to get the artwork onto the songs on my iPod classic. Problem is, I manually manage the songs on my ipod, instead of auto-syncing.... so when I hit the "sync" button in the latest version of iTunes (11.1.1.11), nothing happens. There also isn't a "show album artwork on iPod" button anymore. I'm afraid to change my settings from manual to automatic syncing, because I have lots of playlists on my iPod that aren't in my library, and I don't know if these playlists will be removed during the auto-sync. So how can I manually get the album artwork onto my iPod?

You can only backup iOS devices.
Sadly the old trick of removing all artwork and then adding it all back again no longer works. You may get some joy if you removed the specific album, then add it back again, butgenerally once things go wrong with artwork on a classic the only option is to restore it. Not a problem if all the media is in your library and you sync with a small number of selected playlists. If you don't have all the media see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

How do you manually manage podcasts with the new iTunes?

Like the subject line says: How do you manually manage podcasts with the new iTunes?
With the previous version of iTunes, when I plugged in my iPod, I could select the iPod, select podcasts, and manually delete episodes. With the new iTunes, I can't select individual episodes when looking at my iPod through iTunes. Is my only option to Sync? If so, why is that my only option?
This question probably has a simple answer, and I'm just not seeing it.

I think I figured out a way to do what you want to do - which is the same way that I use Itunes with my Ipod. (My Itunes libary was destroyed last year so I can no longer auto synch my Ipod as I would lose thousands of songs).
Funnily enough, I discovered this new way of manually moving podcasts while trying to figure out what cpragman was trying to say (I never could - he must be smarter than me, as I couldn't get his method to work).
1. Open up your Itunes in your regular Library view. Choose Pocasts from the left hand side (either in the sidebar if you have that enabled, or from the little "radio" icon if you don't.)
2. Mouse to the podcast you want to place on your Ipod.
3. Right-click it. A long menu will pop up.
4. Move to the "Add to Playlist" option. As you hover, all your playlists will be visible. But at the very top will be the name of your Ipod itself (whatever you named it originally). Choose THAT name, and voila! That podcast will now copy to your Ipod and be easily available when you disconnect.
A nice feature of this method is that you can shift-click several podcasts at once and do the same thing, and all your selected podcasts will copy over (if you're like me and update your Ipod only every few weeks).

Just got automatically installed the latest 6.22 version of skype few minutes ago and I got a few questions.
First and foremost, how can I MANUALLY change the height of the textbox, where I type the messages. I would like to make it larger, like in the previous versions of skype. I don't want to move my mouse cursor through the entire monitor to reach this tiny textbox.
And second, why you guys are trying constanly to ruin something that is working perfectly ? Going to revert to the previous version until you fix all these nuisances.

There is no way to do this, it is designed to be strictly landscape with keyboard, portrait without - not the best thought-out phone on the market, mainly geared towards compulsive texters and e-mailers.
There's no way to know whetherNokia will change this with any future updates, perhaps you should make the recommendation to them directly using the 'contact us' link.

How do I manually start a workflow to...

I have a list with 2000+ items in it. I create a 2013 workflow in SPD that will look at an item and if it date is less than 1/1/2013 it will create a copy of the item on a list used for archiving, then delete the existing list item.
My question is how do i manually start this workflow on the entire list (instead of selecting 1 item at a time)?

How do you manually lower the resolution on a hp photosmart 209a-m printer

I want to print with black ink only and lower the resolution. How can you manually lower the resolution settings? Black ink only is no issue but I cannot lower the resolution to below the 600 that it's set for. Wasting ink! Planning on getting a non- hp printer due to ink costs.

Connect the device to the computer.
Right click on the device in iTunes and select Transfer Purchases.

My iMatch is turned on and I can direct downlad my music to the iPhone from the Cloud; however, I want to direct import All of my music from iTunes to my iPhone 5 via the connecting USB cable and it is not working. Yes, I have tried restarting both devices, and no autosync is not working nor is is it providing the avaialbile option to select music in iTunes on my Mac to then sync. Please help. Thanks

Please disregard. I figured it out. Answer for anyone else running into this problem: You have to turn off iTunes Match on both devices. Apparently, if you activate iTunes Match it deactivates your abiltiy to direct sync.
