What do you mean? Something like SELECT mypackage.function( par1, par2) from dual?
Or do you want to execute a procedure when something happens on the page, like clicking a button?

Oracle Apex is an API, if that helps you understand / visualize. You do not start Apex process nor stop it.
When an Apex session starts it starts calling the API.
You can however start / stop the listener. It may be OHS, ApexListener and the J2EE container running it, OC4J or any other "server" that you are using.
The built-in EPG is something like an API again, you cannot start / stop it but you can disable/enable it with DBMS_XDB.SETHTTPPORT API.

First you have to create create dblink in A1 database as below
CREATE DATABASE LINK INSA1
CONNECT TO USER_NAME IDENTIFIED BY <pass>

Try making your column definition as "Remove HTML and escape special characters".
I tried it and it make the column appear as editable as intended and also clicking on the column heading or on the filter in the IR bar behave properly.

Windows 8.1 & Skype: how to call a contact from the Windows Contact List?

Hi I just added a contact on Win 8.1 Surface. When I try to call directly from the windows contact list I get a message that skype has been replaced by skype for desktop. When I remove the skype app (and keep skype for desktop) calling from the list is also not possible: I get a message that no app is associated (message-skype-com) Is there a way around it? Or is it currently not possible to call a skype contact from windows contacts?

Because I am not certain I an interpreting what you mean - although it looks quite literal - I am going to provide three separate pieces of information:
- To remove a contact's name from your Skype sign-in window, please refer to the instruction in this FAQ article - using their account name, not yours: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA11070/how-can-i-remove-my-skype-name-from-the-sign-in-screen-in-s...
- In case you mean removing a contact from the Skype Home Screen when you say, "sign in window," unfortunately, we cannot do this. Skype has some arbitrary algorithm which places recently contacted people on the Home Screen.
- In case you mean removing a contact from your contact list, here is an FAQ with the details how to do this: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA421/how-do-i-organize-my-contacts In Windows, it's as easy as highlighting by single-clicking a contact's name, right-click, and choose Remove from Contacts or Block.

How to call a query from the backing bean ?

Another question for you guys :
I made a jspx page with an input form and a submit button.
When I click the submit button, the action my_action in my backing bean is executed.
This is the code :

I hoped that the query 'EmployeesView' was executed in this way, but I get the following exception :
java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.model.binding.FacesCtrlHierBinding cannot be cast to oracle.binding.OperationBinding
So how should I execute the query EmployeesView ?
Second part of the question : What if I typed the name an employee in my form, and I want to
execute a query that selects all the Employees with that name ?
How do I make a query with a variable as input in the WHERE clause ?

How to pass a value from the report to a form ( BIT OF URGENT ).

Hi,
I had created a "Form on a Table with Report" on the report I had remove the edit link and set one of the column feilds that functionality. Now I want to know how to pass that value that is clicked ( having hyper link ) on to the form where it runs a SQL query and then displays the reuslts on the form.
Illustrating with an example.
I am having these following columns on the report ( these are the results for the join statement )
JOBNUM JOBNAME DEPTNUMBER SAL EMPNO LNAME FNAME
In the above JOBNUM is having Hyper link as I removed the edit image.
Now this is area I am having problem. When the user clicked on the JOBNUM then on form it should display 20 other columns( pulled from 5 other tables ) which are related to that particualr JOBNUM.
Anybody give me a solution in which area I have to include my SQL statement and how to pass that selected value to that SQL statement.

I am doing exaclty what you have suggested me but no luck. I started changing the DEMO_CUSTOMERS application to my requirements.The report is working fine and on the report I have created a page attribute to the Hyper linked column and linked that to the page 2 and assign that attribute with #JOBNUM#.
I am able to pass that value on to form when I click on the JOBNUM. But the problem is I am not able to pass that value into the SQL query so that my query pulls 20+ columns on to the Form ( which is second page ).
Small clarification... On the form region it is said FORM NAME and type is HTML is that is the way the APEX was designed or does it need to say region type as FORM.

o You could use an exec() call to run it in another process.
o You could write JNI code to start the JVM and run your program. (Complicated)

How to find out last_query from jsp form in oracle applications

At present i am working on Quality Module.
in India Localization.
In Quality module -> Results -> Inquiries -> Skip Lot Inquiry
If i enter our organization name
Then its openning one form.
I am unable to find out the table names from the jsp form.
User also unable to comment on it.
So, please help me on this issue.

Once you open the jsp form, at below leftside corner you can see link : About This Page. If you click on the link : About this Page this again open another window, there you can see multiple tabs at header level, if you click on page tab, there you can all the VO objects used to build this page. If you click on VO object hyperlink you can see the query.

How to invoke a pdf from the java stand alone application

I have a JFileChooser and i select a pdf through that . And i should be able to invoke the file in an acrobat reader.
The acrobat application should be invoked on a click the button upon selection.

How to build a form with multiple tables in oracle application express

I have got problem in building a form with multiple tables.I have a main table with (20) columns and this main table is related to the other tables with the primary key-foreign key relation ship.My requirement is i have to build a form which has fields from many tables and all the fields are related to the main table using (ID) column.In that form if i enter ID field i have to get information from differnt tables.

I am no Apex expert, but with a situation as "complex" as yours, have you thought about creating a VIEW that joins these 7/8 tables, placing an INSTEAD OF trigger on that view to do all the business logic in the database, and base your application on the view?
This is the "thick-database" approach that has been gaining momentum of late. The idea is to put your business logic in the database wherever possible, and let the application (Form, Apex, J2EE, whatever) concentrate on UI issues,
