How to change Logfiles folders

Hi,
I want to change the all log files folders to some other drive, currently all log files are storing in
C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\Logging\
Because, mdas.log file also creating here, and finally the size of c drive reaching maximum and syatem getting hang. then i am going there and manually cleaning the old log files.
So please tell me where do i need to change these setting to redirect the logfiles to other folder.

Go to REGEDIT -> HKEY LOCAL MACHINE -> Software -> Business Objects -> Suite 11.5 (Suite 12.0) -> Logging
on the right panel change the 'loggingPath'. This will change the log folder location.
This is applicable to both XI R2 & 3.1.

How can I change which folders iTunes watches, or adds to it's library? I see no way to change it besides re-installing iTunes because it asks you to choose folders during installation. Right now iTunes is watching both my Music folder and my back up drive's Music folder so I have duplicates of everything.

iTunes doesn't watch your folders in the same way that Windows Media Player does. On the initial install you get one opportunity to scan the Music folder or the whole computer. My guess is that you chose the latter. After that there is a folder called *Automatically add to iTunes.* Drop any media into that and it does what it says on the tin, but iTunes studiously ignores the rest.
If you want a tool that can scan your media folders for files that aren't in iTunes try iTunes Folder Watch or iTunes Library Updater. It's a long time since I've played with it, but IIRC iTLU has a cleaning mode called Synchroclean that could be used to clean out entries connected to your backup folder by not including the backup folder in the list of music locations it works with.

Whenever I create a new folder, the view always defaults to icons with the Sidebar visible. I want all newly created folders to open in list view, and I don't want to see the Sidebar. Can anyone tell me how to change the defaults? Thanks...

I'm not sure how to make it default, but I think you may be able to get rid of the sidebar for a whole session (you probably have to get rid of it again once you've restarted).
Just disable the sidebar by clicking in the little white ellipse/oval thingie in the top right corner of a new finder window. Then when you open new windows, or open folders in that one, they should all come up without sidebars, and in the same format. I hope that works for you, but honestly I don't know why you wouldn't want the handy sidebar

Clarification:
I believe now you potentially lose all extensions, plug-ins when you use the new reset function, but you will let me know.
If that is the case, your find corrupt file method maybe better. However, I reviewed the two help articles and there appear to be more files than just the delete search.json file and a possible search.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder. I am confused. Then I have to find the folders. I think help articles mentioned how to find the profile containing the files, but not sure.

How to change the default save encoding of the dvm files when create dvm???

When I creating a DVM(domain-value mapping) in Chinese on the ESB control and confirm it, then restarted the SOA service, the DVM that I created in Chinese disappeared from ESB control. All the maps(both English and Chinese ) are in DVM Repository.
After I updated the encoding from ‘UTF-8’ to ‘GB2312’ in the three files below, and restarted the SOA service, the DVM in Chinese appeared on ESB control.
But when I adding the second row in Chinese and save it, then restart the SOA service, the DVM in Chinese disappeared from ESB Control once again. Because the encoding in the three files below is updated from ‘GB2312’ to ‘UTF-8’ .

I have the same problem. When I updated to Mavericks now the bookmarks bar font is huge. I liked it the way it was before. I liked the smaller font. Also wish I could change the color of the sidebar and font/folders too.
I tried to see in preferences if there was anyway to change it, but I don't see anything there.

I need help from you people.
I had installed Ovi Player. Whenever I try to open Ovi Player, the default store gets’ open is "India". I change the store location to "Germany". When I do the search for particular music, it will again take me to "India" store instead of "Germany" store. In addition, most annoying is that I have to re-login but my user id and password will not work as its different store. Also when I go via music.nokia.de and try to login, it open Ovi player and since default location is "India", it takes me to India store and my login credentials do not work.
I ask Nokia care on how to change default Ovi Player Store location but they are unable to provide any good answer.
I already un-install / re-installed but won't work. Do any of you have answer to my problem? I want my default Ovi Player location to be "Germany" instead of "India".
More information, my regional settings have location as “Germany” and language as “English”.
Please help.

This error is sometimes caused by a corrupted MDataStore.db3 file used by the Ovi Player. This file will need to be deleted with the Ovi Player closed. Then open the player and the datastore file will be rewritten by the application:
Close Ovi Music Player and delete the MDataStore.db3 file:
Vista C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Nokia\Nokia Data Store\DataBase\MDataStore.db3
XP C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia\Nokia Data Store\DataBase\MDataStore.db3
Both of these locations are in hidden folders. So, to view them users will need to:
Open Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View > Show Hidden Files and Folders
Once Ovi Music is opened again the MDataStore.db3 file will be rewritten to this folder.
  After that manipulation try to install the Ovi Player once again:

How to Change Outlook Default Folder for Insert-Attachment and Save Email/Attachemnt while Outlook is open (VBA)

Is it possible to programmatically do the above while Outlook is running? If so, I'm hoping to make that change from a Word macro.
I tried tinkering with the reg key and that doesn't work because it appears Outlook only respects it at startup time. Similary changing Word File-options-location of documents is respected only when Outlook starts.
I'm looking to seamlessly keep Outlook's default folder in sync with Word's default folder as the users change working folders in Word, which they do many times per day (and they chose the folder among a couple of thousand possibilities).
I'm hoping there is a difficult-to-find Outlook object I can manipuate to get to the end result. IF there is such an Object I have been unable to find it.

Based on my research, I think outlook object model doesn’t provide the way to change the default folder for insert attachment and save email/attachment.
The way to change it is that we need to modify the registry setting and the outlook app should be restart.

How to change default directory of exe file

I have created a VI that reads a template and writes on the template and saves it to a new file. When i created to an exe file, I would like for this exe to be able to be used on any computer. As such, the directory where i will open my template will change on different computers. Hence I am having this problem of how to change my VI such that it will choose this template in a new computer and set it as its default directory.
I understand that in my own computer, I can simple "set current values as default" so that my VI will always open this file from a particular path. But what i need help with is when i put it on another computer where the particular path would definitely be different. I tried using the config file.vi but I could not understand how it is used.
Please assist me in this. Thanks

Micorsoft suggest to use folders like UserAppData to store files for your own programs.
Put your template in there and use GetSystemDir function to get the UserAppData path...
Or you put the template in the program folder or one of it's subfolder (not recommended by MS) and use a relative path to load it...

I've created several Excel (from Office:Mac 2011) files on my MapPro; the are on the 'backup' drive (not the main drive). When accessing the 'get info' menu on the file, it shows that I can read and write; but if I open the file, the file name indicates it is read only, and attempts to save changes result in a message that requires a new name for the file. What can I do to change the read/write restriction so I can make changes without having to constantly rename the file with the changed information included?

How to change the storage location in Lightroom 3.6.?
I use my internal hard drive NTFS of my MacBook Pro as my storage location of Lightroom 3.6. being installed in Snow Leopard now but the data of my photos get too big now. I have two fast and big external hard drives eSATA now which I want to use for my data/photos. I know how to copy the data from one hard drive to another but I don't know how to change the settings in connection with Lightroom easily. I still want to watch all fotos on my MacBook Pro but don't want to save any fotos on my internal harddrive any more. Isn't it possible to have the programm Lightroom on my internal harddrive but the data on two times on two different extermal hard drives? If I look at Lightroom - settings of catalogue - I see that the internal harddrive location is my storage location now but I my two external harddrives don't appear as folders. Why? How to change that so that the external hard drives appear in Lightroom and I can watch all my fotos immediately (sometimes using external hard drive 1 and sometimes using external hard drive 2)?
My external hard drives are in HFS+ but I use the software of Paragon so that there shouldn't be any problem to read and write the data (I use also Final Cut Express so my external hard drives are HFS+ and not NTFS).
I want to impert many data from CDs - should I copy the fotos first to my external hard drive and then import it into Lightroom or is it easier to import the data directly from the CD in Lightroom so that I don't have to name the folders two times?
I see that I have to sort the fotos from the CDs in new different folders and an used to do that in Finder of my MacBookPro. In Lightroom I don't want have to click each of hundreds of fotos to be able to put it into the right folders ... But how to import only a part of a CDs quickly into the right (newly created) folders?

I would NOT do this. I would not change the file name.
I would add keywords and other metadata to the photos to identify the content of the photos, and from that point on, I would use keywords and other metdata to search for these photos.
However, let's look at the big picture. I think there are three different methods of organizing

You can choose any one of the three methods above, the choice is yours. I am a very strong believer that for most people (and it sounds like you are one of those people), method 1 is the best method. However, not everyone agrees.
There are drawbacks to using file names to identify your photos. One big drawback is that you must type the information into each photo's name, and this is more tedious than if you wanted to assign the keyword "mountain" to the photos, you can assign the keyword to multiple photos at once. Also, if you mis-spell the information in the file name on any photo, you have just made the photo much harder to find; whereas in Lightroom, the keyword can be assigned via a mouse click (so you can't mis-spell it), or by typing the first few letters and Lightroom (auto-fill) will find the correct keyword name. So using keywords is a much simpler way to go.

It is very simple to add keywords, as I explained for this case. Create keywords "Austria", "Mountain", "Valley"; then select the desired photos, and then click on the check box next to the keyword name. It is much more complicated in my opinion to rename the photos in this manner.
There is less danger in doing this via keywords than the danger doing this via file names, because of potential mis-spellings.
If I spend a lot of time in editing photos (in Lightroom or Photoshop) I don't want that I loose those photos f.i. later if Lightroom won't be the software I use regarding the photos (in 10, 20 years?!)
Lightroom will OPTIONALLY write your keywords and other metadata to the files (or sidecar files in the case of RAW). Every photographic application I know of (and I'm sure those in the future) can read the keywords and other metadata. So if you ever want to switch to some other software, your keywords and other metadata are available. you can turn this option on via Edit->Catalog Settings->Metadata, check Automatically Write Changes to XMP.

No, you do not have to create two folders. You don't have to export everything, but if you do, you can put the exports wherever you want, including putting them in the same folder as the originals, with different name.
Why not edit them in Photoshop and save them in the second folder which I import later in Lightroom? Because it takes longer?

If your goal is to edit the photos in Photoshop, and then put them in folders with whatever custom name you want to give them, then what is the benefit of using Lightroom? You can do all of this WITHOUT Lightroom. You keep explaining that your intended goal is to use Photoshop and folders/file names, and this is a goal which AVOIDs all benefits of Lightroom. I can't understand what you think the benefits of using Lightroom are for you.
It is starting to sound to me like Lightroom is not the right software for you.
Some people want to see a movie on their TV and are able to watch a DVD (not all!). Flickr seems to be a solution for movies in a big size (many GBs) to share them with friends (?)
You haven't mentioned this before, and you should check the rules on Flickr regarding how long a video you can upload.

I'm trying to change my finder settings across all finder windows... I tried the solution posted in the above thread but get this message in terminal. I'm not all that computer savvy when it comes to terminal so not sure what it means... Perhaps someone knows of a different and/or better solution?

Yup got it back after waiting, followed the remaining directions, but didn't work for me... not sure why? Upon rebooting folders do not change after I readjust settings and click 'use as default'.... strange... I even tried that other line of code another person posted later on in the previous thread.

How to change icon of a Folder-track?

By Folder-track I mean the Folder in Arrange window that is created from "packing reions". Is that even possible in LogicPro7 - to change it's icon?
I mean I know how to change icons for my audio tracks, audio-instrument tracks. And it would be nice if I can assign different icons for different Folder-tracks.

It is possible... use option-command-hold on the icon of the folder in a track in the arrange and up pops the many icons to choose from.
You can set the icon to something other than the folder.
To make different folders I guess you would have to do some image editing
and make your own icons but that is pretty easy.
Put your user create icons here...
~/Library/Application Support/Logic/Images/Icons
and logic will load your numbered image file instead of the default ones that
Logic would normaly use.
Note: 1.png is the file name of the regular folder icon.
