  • Getting the schema using Oracle SQL Developer 1.5.1

I need to generate a report in CSV/XLS format using Oracle SQL Developer 1.5.1 to get the schema details
    in the below format.
    Table Name: XXXXXXXXX
    Table Space Name: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    Structure :
    Field Name Data Type Size
    Xxxxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxx
    Xxxxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxx
    Xxxxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxx
    Xxxxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxx
    Field level constraint:
    Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Table Level Constraint:
    Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Indexes:
Index Name Column Name(s) Table space name
    Xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx
    Xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx
    Xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx
    Sequence Number:
    Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Triggers:
    Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I am using a query to do that, but I cannot run more than one queries in the Create Report Dialog.
I went to the Menu->View->Reports. In that, I chose User Defined Reports, created a new folder called Schema Detail and in that a report named Schema Detail. I right click on that report, choose Edit option, Create Report Dialog opens.
In the Create Report Dialog, I chose the option Script for Value of Style.
In the SQL column I enter a query "select * from table_names". But, if I enter another query after that, it does not run and reports an error "SQL Error: ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended
00933. 00000 - SQL command not properly ended" Cause:    Action: "
I end the first query with a semi colon, but it does not work.
The queries run fine in a SQL Worksheet. There, I can terminate the first query with a semi colon and enter the second query. Then, I run both of them together so that result-set of second query appears after the second.
Am I doing something wrong? Can someone please advise on how to get the information I need?
    Thanks a lot.

You can do it in SQL Worksheet because you are running a script. You could run the script in SQL*Plus, and even start it from a bat/cmd file.
Or if you want this as a User Defined Report, you might make it a PL/SQL style report. Here, all output is done through DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT or DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE. You can output HTML tags or plain text. I have an example in my paper for ODTUG Kaleidoscope 2009.

  • How to change the path for Home and Work in SQL Developer

    Hi,
I am new to Oracle SQL Developer. Everytime when I open a file, it will default to the install directory. It is hurtingmy hand because I have to click back to the folder where I put my sql statements.
Is there any way to set the Home or Work button to point to the location I like? or add anther button to point to my folder? I just don't want to click 5 to 10 times to open a file.

SQL Developer (the SQL Developer forum) might be a better place to ask

  • How to change the input and output schema in BPEL process

    hi',
Please tell me how to change the input and output schema in BPEL process after the process is made.
    thanks
    Yatan

If your intention is just changing the content you are passing to bpel/returning from bpel
    Here is another way
just update your default created xsd files with new elements, update wsdl elements in message definition and chnage bpel code to reflect new elements in activities

  • How to execute command(program) from external file in Oracle SQL developer

    Hi,
Does anyone know, Oracle SQL developer version 1.0.0.14.67 got any function that can execute command from an external file?
Example, i have 100 insert SQL inside a text file,
and i want to use Oracle SQL developer to execute it. How do i read from my text file? Thanks a lots.

If you're new to Oracle, do yourself and us a favour: read some tutorials and manuals. What sqldev's worth, better download the latest version (1.1.2), lots of fixes and enhancements...
Now for the big popper: to run an external file: @file
    Best of luck,

  • How to insert data from *.dmp file to  oracle 11g using Oracle SQL Develope

    hi
i backup my database using PL/SQL developer and made *.dmp file
how to insert data from *.dmp file to oracle 11g using Oracle SQL Developer 2.1.1.64
and how to make *.dmp file from sql*plus ?
    thanks in advance

Pl/Sql developer has a config window, there you choose the exec to do the import/export.
Find it and his home version, it may be exp or expdp, the home version is the version of the client where the exp executable is.
Then use the same version of imp or impdp to execute the import, you do not need to use Oracle SQL Developer 2.1.1.64. If you want to use it, you must have the same version in the oracle home that exp/imp of sql developer use.

  • How to use Oracle SQL Developer 4.0 to connect to Ms Access file with .accdb extension

    Hi all,
I am using Oracle SQL Developer 4.0 and Ms Access 2013 under Windows 7 (64 bits)
After browsing and selecting MS Access file with accdb extention, I got  an error message  :[Microsoft] " Data source name not found and no default driver specified".
On Administravitve Tools=> ODBC Data Source Administrator=>Drivers I have                                                File                                date
    Name :                                                                               Version
Microsoft Acess Driver (*.mdb, *accdb)                                 12.00.4518.1014                                        ACEODBC.DLL                    26/10/2006
    Would you please advise?
Thank you very much in advance

That MS Access driver is 64-bit, I think.  If SQL Developer, or JDK is 32-bit you need to use the 32-bit driver.   You can see if you have a 32-bit driver installed using  c:\windows\system32\odbcadm32.exe

To changing password you have to use ALTER USER <USER NAME> IDENTIFIED BY <NEW PASS> but old session you can not invalidate but can kill hem using ALTER SYSTEM KILL SESSION 'SID,SERILA' there sid and serial you can find from v$SESSION.

  • How to change the password of ddic in 000,sap* user is disabled

    Hi
SAP* user is disabled in 000 client in my production server,I can't enable it as it will require outage which is not possible now
I want to use ddic user to login in 000 but I forgot the password,is there any query to change the password for ddic user.My database is SQL server 2005
    Rohit

    Hi,
Better to activate SAP* user instead of trying for the DDIC user .
Either use the Query Delete from usr02.sapr3 where bname = 'SAP*' and mandt = '000'  or delete the
user SAP* from USR02 table where mandt value is 000 through SQL Visual Studio .
Check  the  value  login/no_automatic_user_sapstar in RZ11 , if it is zero , no need to restart the instance .
Otherwise change it  to 0 , restart the instance.
Now you will be able to login with the password pass.

  • How to get the last transaction in a row in SQL Developer?

What syntax would I use to get the last transaction of a row in SQL developer?
The way I have my query set-up currently it is not returning the correct data, here is my current syntax:
    select ssn, max(tran_id), chng_type,tran_id
    from pda_tran
    where ssn = 'xxx-xxx-0011'
    and chng_type = 'C'
    group by ssn, chng_type,tran_id;
It returns a 'C' chng_type but it is not the last one. when I query on this ssn this is what I get:
    ssn tran_id chng_type
    xxx-xxx-0011 001 A
    xxx-xxx-0011 002 E
    xxx-xxx-0011 003 C
    xxx-xxx-0011 004 S
    xxx-xxx-0011 005 C
    xxx-xxx-0011 006 T
I only want to return the ssn's with a last transaction chng_type of 'C'. How can I get the correct information returned. Please advise.

From what I see and read... there is one to many group by
    You wrote
    select ssn, max(tran_id), chng_type,tran_id
    from pda_tran
    where ssn = 'xxx-xxx-0011'
    and chng_type = 'C'
    group by ssn, chng_type,tran_id;
If you want the max(tran_id), remove it from the "group by"
    select ssn, chng_type, max(tran_id)
    FROM
    (SELECT 'xxx-xxx-0011' ssn, '001' tran_id, 'A' chng_type FROM DUAL UNION
    SELECT 'xxx-xxx-0011' ssn, '002' tran_id, 'E' chng_type FROM DUAL UNION
    SELECT 'xxx-xxx-0011' ssn, '003' tran_id, 'C' chng_type FROM DUAL UNION
    SELECT 'xxx-xxx-0011' ssn, '004' tran_id, 'S' chng_type FROM DUAL UNION
    SELECT 'xxx-xxx-0011' ssn, '005' tran_id, 'C' chng_type FROM DUAL UNION
    SELECT 'xxx-xxx-0011' ssn, '006'tran_id, 'T' chng_type FROM DUAL )

  • How to compare two schemas in Oracle sql developer

    Hello,
I need to compare both the data and schemas details (columns etc) between two schemas on different databases (connections).
What is the easiest and most efficient way to do this? Hopefully in Oracle Sql Developer or Sql Plus?
    Thanks.

In SQL Developer go to Tools -> Schema Diff !
in SQL* Plus you will need to write PL/SQL for this.

  • Connecting to HR schema in Oracle SQL Developer

I have installed Oracle sql developer 3.2 version. And I dont have oracle client installed.
Can I connect to HR schema with this set up.
If yes ,please suggest me the credentials.
    Thanks.

You do not need any oracle client installed, you do however need a database somewhere to connect to.
The credentials you require would be for this database, and so we cannot help you get them.
If you have a DBA that manages your databases ask him for the credentials.
If you are on your own and just want to try out something, your best option is to install an Oracle XE on your own system, then you can connect with the defaults SQLDeveloper already has when creating a new connection (the system password will be set during database installation so note it down), then you can play with your newly installed database.
