How to change the SQL-Query in (Report in ReportViewer) by running Java App

Hello,
Ich have an App which generates dynamicly SQL-Queries. By pressing a button it should generate a report with this generated Query.
I´m using the ReportViewer.jar. Further is it possilbe to a extra parameters form app which are not in a DB?

<p>There are a few ways that you can achieve this. If your SQL Queries have their filters modified (ie. WHERE clause) then this can be easily solved by adding report parameters to the Report filter. Search the in-product help for "Record Filter" and you should get a number of helpful resources returned.</p><p>Additionally, you can pass in java.sql.ResultSet objects with a populated recordset of the data you want to show in the report. We don&#39;t currently provide any tools to assist the creation of the code stubs for thick-client applications (like we do for JSP pages) however you can download a collection of thick-client sample code from here:</p><p><a href="http://support.businessobjects.com/communityCS/FilesAndUpdates/crxi_r2_jrc_desktop_samples.zip">http://support.businessobjects.com/communityCS/FilesAndUpdates/crxi_r2_jrc_desktop_samples.zip</a> </p><p>As I mentioned, this sample contains a collection of code snippets. The one in particular you will be interested in is titled "JRCResultsetDatasource". Hopefully, this will provide you with a few options. </p><p>Regards,<br />Sean Johnson (CR4E Product Manager) </p>

  • How to view the sql query?

    hi,
      how to view the sql query formed from the xml structure in the receiver jdbc?

    You can view SAP Note at
    http://service.sap.com/notes
    But you require SMP login ID for this which you should get from your company. The content of the notes are as follows:
    Reason and Prerequisites
    You are looking for additional parameter settings. There are two possible reasons why a feature is available via the "additional parameters" table in the "advanced mode" section of the configuration, but not as documented parameter in the configuration UI itself:
    Category 1: The parameter has been introduced for a patch or a SP upgrade where no UI upgrade and/or documentation upgrade was possible. In this case, the parameter will be moved to the UI and the documentation as soon as possible. The parameter in the "additional parameters" table will be deprecated after this move, but still be working. The parameter belongs to the supported adapter functionality and can be used in all, also productive, scenarios.
    Category 2. The parameter has been introduced for testing purposes, proof-of-concept scenarios, as workaround or as pre-released functionality. In this case, the parameter may or may not be moved to the UI and documentation, and the functionality may be changed, replaced or removed. For this parameter category there is no guaranteed support and usage in productive scenarios is not supported.
    When you want to use a parameter documented here, please be aware to which category it belongs!
    Solution
    The following list shows all available parameters of category 1 or 2. Please note:
    Parameter names are always case-sensitive! Parameter values may be case-sensitive, this is documented for each parameter.
    Parameter names and values as documented below must be used always without quotaton marks ("), if not explicitly stated otherwise.
    The default value of a parameter is always chosen that it does not change the standard functionality
    JDBC Receiver Adapter Parameters
    1. Parameter name: "logSQLStatement"
                  Parameter type: boolean
                  Parameter value: true for any string value, false only for empty string
                  Parameter value default: false (empty String)
                  Available with: SP9
                  Category: 2
                  Description:
                  When implementing a scenario with the JDBC receiver adapter, it may be helpful to see which SQL statement is generated by the JDBC adapter from the XI message content for error analysis. Before SP9, this can only be found in the trace of the JDBC adapter if trace level DEBUG is activated. With SP9, the generated SQL statement will be shown in the details page (audit protocol) of the message monitor for each message directly.
                  This should be used only during the test phase and not in productive scenarios.

  • How to change the width of PDF report

    When i download an interactive report to a PDF. All the columns will have the same width, how to change the width of the column?
    Thanks,
    Jen

    I don't think its possible for downloading from interactive report but let's see if anyone else has got a work around.
    The other way to have absolute control over report layout is to create reports using 'Report Query' & 'Report Layout' under 'Shared Components'.

  • How to change the Browser title when report runs on the web?

    Hi folks,
    How to change the title of the browser when I run my report on the web? Iam using Internet explorer and Reports 6i. Is it possible in 6i or 10g reports?
    Could you please tell me the step by step procedure ?
    Right now the browser is displaying the URL when I run the report with format = PDF.
    Thanks.

    It works for me. I don't see why you have a problem with >this code.
    Can you look at the source code of the html >file that was created (so, not in the browser, but in a >text editor). What do the header and title look like?The Html code in the file is same as the above code I specified. Actually I copied the same code and pasted here. But when I run the html file the Title shows up.
    Don't put </html> there. Maybe that helps. I tried this, but it did not work.
    Please let me know is there any way to set it dynamically inside the triggers using SRW built_in.
    Thanks alot.

  • How to change the database in Crystal reports

    To give an overview there is one project going on where the oracle database is getting migrated from 10g to 11g.
    All the details of database like IP, port etc are changing as part of this.
    I can see the driver name configured as crdb_ado (Custom driver).
    We have an test environment for 11g against which we have to point all the reports and test it.
    Could you please let me know the below queries
    Where and how to change the IP details in the crystal reports to point to new test and prod databases.
    Overview on this crdb_ado driver
      Basically the database is getting changed and we want the reports to point and run from the new database.
    Thanks

    Hi Vissu,
    Thanks for your reply.
    We need to change the database from the reports which are already running from central management console.
    I can see a custom driver crdb_ado is being used and it connects to a database.
    Could you please let me know where the database configuration is done.
    Ideally we need to add one more database to a config file which i am not able to find.
    I guess it should be similar to tnsnames.ora file in oracle where the different databases are stored.
    From the above image I would like to know where the server details (NECTAR_Prod) would be configured.
    Thanks in advance

  • How to change the lov query??

    Hi Friends,
    I am trying to extend a controller of the base page to change the lov query. I am not able to get the lov VO since I am not getting the lov AM in the controller.
    I want to use the setQuery() to set the lov query programatically in base class controller PR.
    My controller code looks like ::
    OAApplicationModule am = oapagecontext.getRootApplicationModule();
    oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics(this,"The Root AM is : " + am.toString(),6); // displaying oracle.apps.icx.por.req.server.RequisitionAMImpl
    OAApplicationModule lovAM = (OAApplicationModule)am.findApplicationModule("RequisitionLovAM"); // Returning Null
    OAViewObjectImpl vo = (OAViewObjectImpl)lovAM.findViewObject("ReqSupplierVO");
    String seededQuery = vo.getQuery();
    oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics(this,"Seeded Query for ReqSupplierVO is "+ seededQuery,6);
    String customQuery = "new_query" // here i m writing my new query.
    vo.setQuery(customQuery); // setting my custom query.
    oapagecontext.writeDiagnostics(this,"Custom Query for the ReqSupplierVO is "+ vo.getQuery(),6);
    The following are the details.
    Base Page : /oracle/apps/icx/icatalog/shopping/webui/NonCatalogRequestPG
    Base Page Controller : logi.oracle.apps.icx.icatalog.shopping.webui.NonCatalogRequestCO
    Lov Region : /oracle/apps/icx/lov/webui/ReqSupplierLovRN
    Lov Controller : oracle.apps.icx.lov.webui.ReqSupplierLovCO
    Lov VO : oracle.apps.icx.lov.server.ReqSupplierVO ( i want to remove outer join in this VO query )
    I cant extend the lov controller since the same lov region is using in other pages also where i dont want apply my new lov query.
    Is the way i am trying is correct? How can i get the Lov AM in the base page? Any help highly appreciated.

    Hi Pratap,
    Thanks for coming back on this.
    The background of this customization is, We are implementing AME and are trying to restrict the number of approvers in the Change First Approver LOV (ApprroverLovVO.xml) based on company code and cost centre during the creation of Requistion. At the moment, the LOV is bringing back every employee who has a valid WF role.
    At the moment (up till I saw this thread) I was trying to customize ReqApprChfCo.java by adding this code to processRequest method
    OAMessageLovInputBean CompanyCode = (OAMessageLovInputBean)oawebbean.findIndexedChildRecursive("ChargeAccountFlex0_column"); //this is returing null
    OAMessageLovInputBean CostCentre = (OAMessageLovInputBean)oawebbean.findIndexedChildRecursive("ChargeAccountFlex1_column"); //this is returing null
    RequisitionLovAMImpl am = (RequisitionLovAMImpl)oapagecontext.getApplicationModule(oawebbean); // this is returning null
    OAViewObject approverLovVO = (OAViewObject)oam.findViewObject("ApproverLovVO");
    Then, once found to append the viewobject with where clause. Was this the right method of achiving it, or to create a new custom VO and region?

  • How to share the same QUERY among report, chart on the same page? and more

    Dear HTMLDB experts,
    I am absolute rookie to this tool, so I have some questions need you all's help.
    (1)
    When I build a page with a spread sheet and a chart on the same page, they all use the same query to get the data. However, I have to type in the SQL twice in spread sheet(report region) and chart's attribute sections. It seems so dumb, does it really run the same query twice, is there a way to share the same query?
    i.e. SELECT name, timestamp, value FROM foo WHERE name = :P1_NAME? (by the way, is :P1_NAME case sensitive?)
    (2)
    In the same chart, if I have two series from two columns of the same table, I have to write 2 queries, one
    select null, timestamp, value1 from same_table
    and
    select null, timestamp, value2 from same_table
    Is it possible to use one query: select timestamp, value1, value2 from same_table and define the series on two value columns of this single query? It's really no point to run two queris.
    (3)
    In a chart, when the query has ORDER by clause, it seems the chart is not showing up.
    So instead of using the query below
    SELECT null, to_char(ts,'mmdd') ts, value
    FROM same_table
    WHERE ts >= TRUNC(SYSDATE) - :P2_DAYSAGO - 1
    AND name = :P1_NAME
    ORDER BY ts
    I have to use a walkaround query
    SELECT null, ts, used
    FROM
    SELECT null, to_char(ts,'mmdd') ts, value
    FROM same_table
    WHERE ts >= TRUNC(SYSDATE) - :P2_DAYSAGO - 1
    AND name = :P1_NAME
    ORDER BY ts
    Further more, it seems :P1_NAME in the same subquery is not working for the chart, i get xml parsing errors in SVGviewer, however the same query works for the spread sheet area, I am really puzzeled. Not sure whether it's dumb tool or dumb me :-)
    Appreciate your help!

    For this particular issue, I found out that neither is the tool dumb nor is me. It's SVGViewer messed up with the firefox browser, after I rebooted the computer this morning, problem is gone. I didnt reboot after I copied SVGViewer dll and zip file to firefox plugin directory yesterday. Never had that pain with IE and Netscape, oh well :-). So please ignore this section, however other questions are still unsolved puzzles for me. Thank you all if you can share some light on those questions.

  • How to check the sql:query is return null value

    I have use :
    <sql:query var="sql1" dataSource="${db}">
    select col_name from table_name
    where a=<c:out value="${row.test1}"/>
    and b='<c:out value="${row.test2}"/>'
    </sql:query>
    So, how can I check this statement return null value which is no record within this table?

    The Result should never be null but can be empty. You can check if the Result is empty using an if tag and checking the rowCount property:
        <sql:query var="books"
          sql="select * from PUBLIC.books where id = ?" >
          <sql:param value="${bookId}" />
        </sql:query>
         <c:if test="${books.rowCount > 0}">
         </c:if>http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/tutorial/doc/JSTL7.html#wp84217

  • How to change the chart color in report 6i based on its value?

    I built a simple chart using Chart Wizard in Report 6i, with X axis = supplier and Y axis = rating. I want the chart to show different color for certain rating, eg: above 80% => red color.
    Anyone know how to do this?
    Pls help!

    Hi Resham,
    In SP list, you change the background color of field value using Content editor and javascript.
    Add the content editor webpart on the list page with javascript which highlight the particualr value based on the condition.
    You can refer to following link

  • How to prove the SQL query will spawning the process

    In a Oracle 10g database, i noticed a user running a sql query which contain lot of "group by" "order by" iin database, suspected it spawning multiple process in database then causing the ORA-00020: maximum number of processes exceeded.
    My question is, is there any dictionary view or report that i can generate to prove that is the problematic sql causing the error?
    Please help. Many thanks.

    John Stegeman wrote:
    What makes you think that group by and order by spawn processes? In general, they don't. In fact, I cannot think of any reason they would (and if I'm wrong, I'm sure I'll be corrected forthwith)No, no correction.
    A query is a query bound to a session.
    I can only imagine that a query can spawn lots op parallel slaves when using parallel server.

  • How to findout the sql query elapsed time for last call

    RDBMS vesrion: 11.2.0.3
    How can I get the stats like how much time it took for a query to run if I know the "sql_id"
    I can query v$sql and find out the "parse_calls","fetches","execution","elapsed_time" (microsecs)
    but if the query executed 20 times then the elapsed time will be the cumulative of all the executions.
    But I want to know the ELAPSED TIME of LAST CALL(last execution only) for that sql_id.
    Edited by: rcc50886 on Aug 2, 2012 8:35 AM

    You can easily monitor the statement and see the results for v$sql_monitorWe didn't enabled the monitor for the sql's and its not possible in my current enveronment due to some issues with management.
    Is there any way to find out the last elapsed time for the sql with known sql_id ?
