How to check the ALV output for the background job

Hi Guru,
We are having a cutomized report which will display the result like a ALV report.
We configured it as an background job, after the completion of the background job, it will send the result to the SPOOL, and we can use SP02 to check the output,
But it is not easy for user to directly check the result easily, is there an method we can save it as an spreadsheet and send the output to a specific location or mailbox and then user can check it easily

In SM37 ,select the Job > Spool > Select Spool No > Display Contents > Here it will show you the Output of the Report.Now select Ctrl +Shift + F12 , it will ask you to save the Spread sheet in specified location.

You should archive the material in it's native format so that you have the possibility to revisit the project and make changes or generate master files in other formats.
Use the Media Manager to consolidate your project into a single enclosing folder. This can be compressed into a .zip file or disk image. It will save space if you dont include render files, even more if you make the material that came from tape, offline -although you will have to recapture in that case.

How to truncate the decimals in the ALV report for the quantity field

I have to display a quantity field and units of measure in the ALV output. If the units of measure eq 'PC' i should not display the decimal places for quantity in the alv output, otherwise i have to display the decimals in the output. How to do this....any help would be highly rewarded. I knew that for this type of cases decimal_o will not work.

Declare one more Internal table same as output table. In that intead of that quantity field, declare field_name(15) type c.

Can we change the selection criteria for RV60SBAT Background Job for Billin

We have a requirement to add a new selection criteria for RV60SBAT Background Job for Billing. We want to process back order invoices first. So we want a specific background job to select these. So we want to select any orders that are eligible to be invoiced where order date < the date of background job(r sy-datum ). Any ideas where we can introduce this logic for selection criteria?

For your requirement , copy the standard RV60SBAT program to Z program and in that copied RV60SBAT program , maintain the logic that the backorder invoices should be first processed.Then after that regular background job for billing should take happen .Then your requirement can be fulfilled

Dump for the ALV report for the excel.

HI,
We are having a ALV report.
We are using REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE and REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.
After we run the report we get the output on the screen properly.
When we choose the "Local File" button it goes to the dump.
The following messages comes.
Runtime Errors " OBJECTS_NOT_CHARLIKE"
"The current statement requires a character-type data object.".
Could you pls advise where is the problem.

Can I increase the volume output for the entire library? (versus song by song in the options menu)

In fact, I use iTunes when I dee-jay for private parties. I have a Bose sound system, and sometimes with the volume on the Bose all the way up, the music is not loud enough.
I know I can go into each song and sound enhance from "none" (default) to 100 percent which boosts the sound quite a bit.
I would like to know if this is doable....to change the sound volume up to 100 percrent for the entire music library? and also if this is advisable or not?

Thanks Chris..duly noted..may give it a try...or at least to 75%. Another person responded that it could have negative effects on playback or equipment, but I can (and would) always back down the sound volume on the devices connected and then set the preferences to equalize the songs to each other to avoid large differences between "hits."
That is why I want to apply it to the whole library vs. particular songs.
I bought a Bose System 5 computer sound system for the small house parties..and I was surprised to max out sound on it...not having reached the point of any distortion..based on songs at the default "0" level.
I had thought about doing what you suggested as I sometimes do that for multiple selections...but was not sure I could "select all" - that gives me an option.

How can i validate on ALV grid for the user

Dear Freinds,
I have developed one custom report using ALV Grid program , as per the requirement i have to enter on the
data and when i press the value save the program sumits the data into my custom table . Till here every thing is fine
but one particular field i have declared as Char1 in my internal table , on the ALV output it is allowing me to enter
more than one character eg : it is allowing me to enter as Hyderabad .........even though i have declared as char 1 in the internal table ....however it is saving in the database table as H only that is correct.......but it is giving confusion to user
i want to validate that user shouldnt allow to enter more than one character in the alv output of the input field .
Please could any one let me know how can i validate.

check that field length in the final internal table .
might be that filed lenth in final internal table declartion is more than 1 char.

Excel output for the xml publisher report when it is [b]scheduled [/b]

How to get the excel output for the xml publisher report when it is scheduled by a apps user? Like what is the user profile option (for the apps user who runs the report) and what are the other things that needs to be taken care of so that only this xml publisher report run by this apps user produces a EXCEL output (When scheduled) ???

Hi Munna,
For eBusiness Suite (apps user) the report output is stored the same way whether executed immediately or scheduled.,To get excel set the options > output format to Excel. Only the user that submitted the report can view it, or you can get the output file from the server. Or you can set the notify option so that a Workflow Notification is sent when the request completes.

Dump while downloding the ALV output

Hi,
My requirement is to Develop an ALV report with new Function Keys in the Application Toolbar of the ALV.
For that I have copied the Status of the program 'SAPLSLVC_FULLSCREEN' Status - 'STANDARD_FULLSCREEN' and added few more Function Key's on the Application Toolbar. The new Key's added are working fine but when I try to download the ALV Output using the Download file option on the application toolbar its giving and dump saying 'Field symbol has not yet been assigned'
Runtime Errors         GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED.

which ECC version are you working on? I think versions below 4.7 didnt have ALV (im not sure though)
Try this path :
SPRO->Materials mgmt->purchasing->Reportng->Maintain Purchasing lists->Scope of lists->Define scope of list.
check if ALV is maintained here. if not , create ZALV by Copying from ALLES or make your own new one ZALV , and inside ZALV , make sure to Tick the "Use ALV grid Control" in the last tab "settings for ALV grid control"

How to extract in the ALV output the old data using EXTRACT

            I have requiremnt where the user executes the report -
using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY FM. On the output
i have given an option to user to edit values on the output. So user will edit the values and updating to the data base this
the functionality which we have given to the custom report till now . Now the user came back and asking to provide a SAVE
option on the ALv output so that before updating the total records to the database he can re edit the values which he
has entered previous day . To do this functionality i have read in ALV documentation using the EXTRACT- INCLUDE vex01top.
I have added this but iam not getting exactly how to do this option when the user saves on the ALV output how can he retrive back the saved data on to the output again( i.e on the ouput screen) using the Extract functionality . If any body has done this
do help me . I would like to know should we maintain any custom table for this,for saving the records when user press
save button? .

I don't know where you got that. You have to define your own GUI status (first, copy it from standard status STANDARD_FULLSCREEN of function group SLVC_FULLSCREEN) with your button, and define as follows:

How to turn of debug output from the jdriver for Oracle

We are running our builds with Ant and doing unit-tests with junit/cactus.
The Weblogic jDriver produces what appears to be debug info on standard out which
in turn is captured by junit in xml files reporting errors etc. The problem is that
the WebLogic driver ( WL6.1 SP2) sometimes produces binary 0's ( see below) ending
up in the result xml files, and that Ant's result xml parser cannot handle - (nor
should it ).
This is probably a bug in the c-code for the jdriver , the oci dll ?
Would much appreciate how to turn off the debug(?) logging that the jDriver does:

I'd check your code for appearances of "DriverManager.setLogWriter" that set
log writer to System.out. This is the way to get driver's debug output
to standard out.

Please help. My ipod classic could not be recognised by itunes when I connect my ipod to PC. Previously it has been recognised before I updated. This was a while ago now and so I removed all apple files and re installed the latest itunes but am having the same problem.

Some anti-virus programs (e.g., McAfee) have this rule that can be invoked under the "maximum protection" settings: PREVENT PROGRAMS REGISTERING AS A SERVICE. If that rule is set to BLOCK, then any attempt to install or upgrade iTunes will fail with an "iPod service failed to start" message.
If you are getting this problem with iTunes, check to see if your anti-virus has this setting and unset it, at least for as long as the iTunes install requires. Exactly how to find the rule and turn it on and off will vary, depending upon your anti-malware software. However, if your anti-virus or anti-malware software produces a log of its activities, examining the log may help you find the problem.
For example, here's the log entry for McAfee:

Note that the log says "Common Maximum Protection: Prevent programs registering as a service". The "Common Maximum Protection" is the location of the rule, "Prevent programs registering as a service" is the rule. I used that information to track down the location in the McAfee VirusScan Console where I could turn the rule off.
After I made the change, iTunes installed without complaint.
