How to configure clearcase with sun studio enterprise 8

Hi,
I am trying ot setup sun stuido enterprise 8 with the clearcase server. If any one has instruction set for that please let me know.
Thanks!

Hello,
ClearCase configuration information for an older IDE versions is available as test specification on NetBeans site:
http://vcsgeneric.netbeans.org/qa/testspecs/s1s5/ProfileCC.html
In JSE8 ClearCase configuration process is very similar.
But is available through adding VCS working directory in 'Versioning Manager' (open it using 'Versioning | Versioning Manager' main menu item).

    Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8.1 (built on top on NetBeans 5.0) does support j2ee (and j2se) development.
    For developing j2ee applications, both NetBeans (latest version is 5.5, http://www.netbeans.org) and SJSE can be used. For a comparison on SJSE and NetBeans, please take a look at:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=747&threadID=5113472
    For a list of all development tools from Sun, please take a look at http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/devtools/free/index.html..
    i want to use persistence and enterprise beans with my application but don't know,
    how to do it with sun studio developer.For j2ee development, please check out NetBeans 5.5 ; there are several tutorials available at http://www.netbeans.org/kb/index.html. (Since SJSE is built on top on NetBeans, SJSE can also be used and all the NetBeans documents also will apply to SJSE).

  • How to configure sso with SSL step by step

    Purpose
    In this document, you can learn how to configure SSO with SSL. After user have certificate installed in browser, he can login without input username and password.
    Overview
    In this document we will demonstrate:
    1.     How to configure OHS support SSL
    2.     How to Register SSO with SSL
    3.     Configure SSO for certificates
    Prerequisites
    Before start this document, you should have:
    1.     Oracle AS 10g infrastructure installed (10.1.2)
    2.     OCA installed
    Note:
    1.     “When you install Oracle infrastructure, please make sure you have select OCA.
    2.     How Certificate-Enabled Authentication Works:
    a.     The user tries to access a partner application.
    b.     The partner application redirects the user to the single sign-on server for authentication. As part of this redirection, the browser sends the user's certificate to the login URL of the server (2a). If it is able to verify the certificate, the server returns the user to the requested application.
    c.     The application delivers content. Users whose browsers are configured to prompt for a certificate-store password may only have to present this password once, depending upon how their browser is configured. If they log out and then attempt to access a partner application, the browser passes their certificate to the single sign-on server automatically. This means that they never really log out. To effectively log out, they must close the browser.
    Enable SSL on the Single Sign-On Middle Tier
    The following steps involve configuring the Oracle HTTP Server. Perform them on the single sign-on middle tier. In doing so, keep the following in mind:
    l     You must configure SSL on the computer where the single sign-on middle tier is running.
    l     You are configuring one-way SSL.
    l     You may enable SSL for simple network encryption; PKI authentication is not required. Note though that you must use a valid wallet and server certificate. The default wallet location is ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf/ssl.wlt/default.
    1.     Back up the opmn.xml file, found at ORACLE_HOME/opmn/conf
    2.     In opmn.xml, change the value for the start-mode parameter to ssl-enabled. This parameter appears in boldface in the xml tag immediately following.
    <ias-component id="HTTP_Server">
    <process-type id="HTTP_Server" module-id="OHS">
    <module-data>
    <category id="start-parameters">
    <data id="start-mode" value="ssl-enabled"/>
    </category>
    </module-data>
    <process-set id="HTTP_Server" numprocs="1"/>
    </process-type>
    </ias-component>
    3.     Update the distributed cluster management database with the change: ORACLE_HOME/dcm/bin/dcmctl updateconfig -ct opmn
    4.     Reload the modified opmn configuration file:
    ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl reload
    5.     Keep a non-SSL port active. The External Applications portlet communicates with the single sign-on server over a non-SSL port. The HTTP port is enabled by default. If you have not disabled the port, this step requires no action.
    6.     Apply the rule mod_rewrite to SSL configuration. This step involves modifying the ssl.conf file on the middle-tier computer. The file is at ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf. Back up the file before editing it.
    Because the Oracle HTTP Server has to be available over both HTTP and HTTPS, the SSL host must be configured as a virtual host. Add the lines that follow to the SSL Virtual Hosts section of ssl.conf if they are not already there. These lines ensure that the single sign-on login module in OC4J_SECURITY is invoked when a user logs in to the SSL host.
    <VirtualHost ssl_host:port>
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteOptions inherit
    </VirtualHost>
    Save and close the file.
    7.     Update the distributed cluster management database with the changes:
    ORACLE_HOME/dcm/bin/dcmctl updateconfig -ct ohs
    8.     Restart the Oracle HTTP Server:
    ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl stopproc process-type=HTTP_Server
    ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl startproc process-type=HTTP_Server
    9.     Verify that you have enabled the single sign-on middle tier for SSL by trying to access the OracleAS welcome page, using the format https://host:ssl_port.
    Reconfigure the Identity Management Infrastructure Database
    Change all references of http in single sign-on URLs to https within the identity management infrastructure database. When you change single sign-on URLs in the database, you must also change these URLs in the targets.xml file on the single sign-on middle tier. targets.xml is the configuration file for the various "targets" that Oracle Enterprise Manager monitors. One of these targets is OracleAS Single Sign-On.
    1.     Change Single Sign-On URLs
    Run the ssocfg script, taking care to enter the command on the computer where the single sign-on middle tier is located. Use the following syntax:
    UNIX:
    $ORACLE_HOME/sso/bin/ssocfg.sh protocol host ssl_port
    Windows:
    %ORACLE_HOME%\sso\bin\ssocfg.bat protocol host ssl_port
    In this case, protocol is https. (To change back to HTTP, use http.) The parameter host is the host name, or server name, of the Oracle HTTP listener for the single sign-on server.
    Here is an example:
    ssocfg.sh https login.acme.com 4443
    2. Restart OC4J_SECURITY instance and verify the configuration
    To determine the correct port number, examine the ssl.conf file. Port 4443 is the port number that the OracleAS installer assigns during installation.
    If you run ssocfg successfully, the script returns a status 0. To confirm that you were successful, restart the OC4J_SECURITY instance:
    ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl restartproc process-type=OC4J_SECURITY
    Then try logging in to the single sign-on server at its SSL address:
    https://host:ssl_port/pls/orasso/
         3. Back up the file targets.xml:
    cp ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/targets.xml ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/targets.xml.backup
    4. Open the file and find the target type oracle_sso_server. Within this target type, locate and edit the three attributes that you passed to ssocfg:
    ·     HTTPMachine—the server host name
    ·     HTTPPort—the server port number
    ·     HTTPProtocol—the server protocol
    If, for example, you run ssocfg like this:
    ORACLE_HOME/sso/bin/ssocfg.sh http sso.mydomain.com:4443
    Update the three attributes this way:
    <Property NAME="HTTPMachine" VALUE="sso.mydomain.com"/>
    <Property NAME="HTTPPort" VALUE="4443"/>
    <Property NAME="HTTPProtocol" VALUE="HTTPS"/>
    5.Save and close the file.
    6.     Reload the OracleAS console:
         ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl reload
    7. Issue these two commands:
    ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl restartproc process-type=HTTP_Server
    ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl restartproc process-type=OC4J_SECURITY
    Registering mod_osso
    1.     This command sequence that follows shows a mod_osso instance being reregistered with the single sign-on server.
    $ORACLE_HOME/sso/bin/ssoreg.sh
         -oracle_home_path $ORACLE_HOME
         -config_mod_osso TRUE
         -mod_osso_url https://myhost.mydomain.com:4443
    2.     Restarting the Oracle HTTP Server
    After running ssoreg, restart the Oracle HTTP Server:
    ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl restartproc process-type=HTTP_Server
    Configuring the Single Sign-On System for Certificates
    1.     Configure policy.properties with the Default Authentication Plugin
    Update the DefaultAuthLevel section of the policy.properties file with the correct authentication level for certificate sign-on. This file is at ORACLE_HOME/sso/conf. Set the default authentication level to this value:
    DefaultAuthLevel = MediumHighSecurity
    Then, in the Authentication plugins section, pair this authentication level with the default authentication plugin:
    MediumHighSecurity_AuthPlugin = oracle.security.sso.server.auth.SSOX509CertAuth
    2.     Restart the Single Sign-On Middle Tier
    After configuring the server, restart the middle tier:
    ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl restartproc process-type=HTTP_Server
    ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl restartproc process-type=OC4J_SECURITY
    Bringing the SSO Users to OCA User Certificate Request URL
    The OCA server reduces the administrative and maintenance cost of provisioning a user certificate. The OCA server achieves this by authenticating users by using OracleAS SSO server authentication. All users who have an Oracle AS SSO server account can directly get a certificate by using the OCA user interface. This reduces the time normoally requidred to provision a certificate by a certificate authority.
    The URL for the SSO certificate Request is:
    https://<Oracle_HTTP_host>:<oca_ssl_port>/oca/sso_oca_link
    You can configure OCA to provide the user certificate request interface URL to SSO server for display whenever SSO is not using a sertificate to authenticate a user. After the OracleAS SSO server authenticates a user, it then display the OCA screen enabling that user to request a certificate.
    To link the OCA server to OracleAS SSO server, use the following command:
    ocactl linksso
    opmnctl stoproc type=oc4j instancename=oca
    opmnctl startproc type=oc4j instancename=oca
    You also can use ocactl unlinksso to unlink the OCA to SSO.

    I have read the SSO admin guide, and performed the steps for enabling SSL on the SSO, and followed the steps to configure mod_osso with virtual host on port 4443 as mentioned in the admin guide.
    The case now is that when I call my form (which is developed by forms developer suite 10g and deployed on the forms server which is SSO enabled) , it calls the SSO module on port 7777 using http (the default behaviour).
    on a URL that looks like this :
    http://myhostname:7777/pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login?Site2pstoreToken=.......
    and gives the error :
    ( Forbidden
    You don't have permisission to access /sso/auth on this server at port 7777)
    when I manually change the URL to :
    https://myhostname:4443/pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login?Site2pstoreToken=.......
    the SSO works correctly.
    The question is :
    How can I change this default behaviour and make it call SSO on port 4443 using https instead ?
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks in advance

  • Confused between Netbeans and Sun Studio Enterprise

    Hi all,
    Acually I am very confused between Netbeans and Sun Studio Enterprise/Creator.
    Why sun did not concentrate on one IDE as Microsoft is doing with Visual Studio?
    Now, I do not know what to learn....Netbeans or Sun Studio !!!
    What make me more confused is that both are supported oficially by Sun. And both are free for SDN members!!!!!
    So, what is the difference???!!!
    regards

    I tried it back when it was called Forte, and it seamed pretty
    identical to netbeans. the only difference was that Forte could
    only be used for personal use without a license.

    Possibly the actual CC (or cc) command lines are not correct. The proper way to say not to link libCstd is the command-line option -library=no%Cstd. Then you don't need to add the default system libraries like -lc to the command line.
    Can you show the actual CC command lines that are generated by the makefile? They should be in the compilation log. I'd also like to see the command line(s) used to create dynamic libraries, if any, and the final executable.

    Hello, everyone,

    hello,
    Unfortunately, matlab doesn't exist on solaris x86 platform. They only deliver matlab for sparc platform, and i'm wonder if it is EOL'ed now?
    Sun never convince Mathworks to offer matlab for solaris x86, so you have to use (if it is possible) other software like Mathematica (money) or Scila, Sage, Octave, ... (free)
    We are several Mathworks customers who asked Mathworks for that, and i never understand why people continues to use old or slow sparc machines to compute.
    Anyway, today, solaris isn't a right choice for computing, but i'm waiting for Sun to prove that i'm wrong.
    (my main compute server is a Sun V40z with Solaris 10, but the next one will be a Sun X2270 with CentOS, because matlab)

  • Is it possible to run sun studio 12 ide with sun studio 8 compiler?

    Hi, i am in the process of evaluating sun studio 12. Our company cannot move to sun studio 12 compiler collection right now as it is a huge code base and it will take us few months even before we start using sun studio 12 compiler in our development environment. Is it possible to use sun studio 12 ide with sun studio 8 compiler collection(CC, dbx etc)? Your feedback is appreciated. thank you.

    There are two parts to the answer.
    1) whether you can
    To choose a compiler set follow Tools->Options->C/C++
    and in the BuildTools tab you'll see how it picks up
    compilers from your PATH.
    This dialog doesn't govern choice of dbx, which will always
    come from the installation. However you can alter which dbx
    is used by presetting the environment variable SPRO_DBX_PATH
    to teh full pathname of a dbx of your choice.
    2) whether you should
    The IDE should work reasonably well with older compilers. They
    are not that tightly bound.
    The IDE will not work well enough with an older dbx, especially as
    old as studio 8. However, while not officially supported or tested
    the SS12 dbx should be reasonably bwd compatible with code
    generated from older compilers.
    So my recommendation is: don't use SPRO_DBX_PATH and
    give the old compilers a try.

  • Trouble viewing disassembly with Sun Studio 11

    I was wondering how someone can bring up a window with a programs disassembly when debugging a C program with Sun Studio 11. (SPARC). I would like to be able to set breakpoints at specific assembly instructions using Sun Studioss GUI interface rather than using typed commands with DBX. I would also like to know how to get a window that shows the current value of the registers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Chris

    Oops, it appears that you can't set breakpoints
    through Disassembler window, it just shows the code
    and current position within the code, that's all.It
    gives you better view of context than dbx's 'dis' or
    'list -i' commands, though.Actually you can set breakpoints through Disassembler window:
    - select an address, click right mouse button to open context menu
    - choose "Set Breakpoint"
    If you need this feature, please file an RFE (Request
    For Enhancement) through bugs.sun.comThe Disassembler window has been significantly improved between
    EA1 and FCS. Now users can set and delete breakpoints using the
    same way as they do in source file - click on the left gray area (toggle
    breakpoints). Also Disassembler window has "Step Into", "Step Over",
    "Step Out" and "Run To Cursor" buttons.
    Thanks,
    Nik

  • Problems with sun studio 12 in suse linux 11

    Hi.
    I installed Sun Studio 12 suse linux with no problems. However, the debugging modules (DBX) are not working any more. When I started Sun Studio, it gave a message about modules that could not be loaded in tha moment. I did not pay attention. But I noticed that all debugging options were disabled.
    Using the module manager, I saw the DBX module was not checked, and I could not change it. I was marked with a red X. So I thought to reinstall the application. However, the uninstall utility doesn't work either.
    According with the documentation, running ./uninstaller does it, but I get the following error message instead
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: uninstall_Sun_Studio_12/class
    Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: uninstall_Sun_Studio_12.class

    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:319)
    I tried to uninstall manually, and then execute installer, by using first the software manager in linux and deleting the producregistry file manually. It worked because I executed the installer. However, in Sun Studio IDE, debugging options are still not available despite I "reinstalled" the application. I checked the log files and they say the file uninstall_Sun_Studio_12.class could not be written.
    So my questions are:
    1. Is there any other way to repair Sun Studio? What could be the possible for this module to stop working?
    2. Does anyone have an idea of why the installer cannot write the uninstaller class?
    I found that perhaps problems regarding Java / Netbeans versions could be the problem, but the ones I have installed are those packages that were installed along with Sun Studio, and both are valid.
    Thank you very much.

    Perhaps you can simply delete the Sun Studio 12 installation tree, because it will not work on SUSE Linux 11.
    This OS is not supported, so any problems you see with SS12 on SUSE 11 will not be fixed.
    But we have a newer version, that should work better.
    You can try to download and install Sun Studio Express 2008/11 (extract pre-installed image from tar.bz2 file).
    Here is a pointer to the web page:
    http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/downloads/express
    All you need is to provide a email address, and press "Download Now" button.
    You will see a page, that gives you 2 options to download Sun Studio Express 2008/11.
    Use "Option 2": Download Tarfile Installer

    I just got a fc7 yamaha expression pedal and can't figure out how to configure it with mainstage or logic.  I'm using a Gio pedal.

    Hi
    You will need to map the "Expression Pedal" to the Waa pedal. There are several ways you could do it, here's one:
    In Layout Mode, add a Pedal Screen control, and Assign it to the in-coming MIDI from the GiO.
    In Edit mode, select the Screen Control, and click the "Map Parameter" button. While this is active click on the Wah pedal in the PedalBoard plugin. Turn off 'Map Parameter".

    what steps are missing?
    how to check?

    hi, experts,
    I checked C:\OracleBIData\web\log\sawlog0.log on the obi server (windows server 2003 standard).
    at Thu Feb 17 14:48:46 2011 , I logined OBI on another machine (not via the browser on the obi server).
    however, the log shows the login user is the administrator of the obiserver (obiserver\administrator ).
    any setup on IIS are wrong? thank you very much!

  • Need help building boost_1_37_0 on Solaris 10 U6 with Sun Studio 12

    Hi,
    Ok, please bear with me here. I've tried many different sets of instructions, and haven't had success with any of them (including the ones at http://blogs.sun.com/sga/category/Boost).
    Operating System: Solaris 10 x86 U6
    Compiler: Sun Studio 12 (SUNCC version 5.9)
    Boost version: 1.37.0
    The ONLY part of boost that I need is regex. I've never built external libraries before and building boost on Solaris seems a rather daunting task. So, could someone please explain, as clearly as possible, how do I build the boost::regex library using SUNCC?
    I know this is a very broad topic, but since I haven't had any luck with any existing instructions that google turns up, alas I am here.
    Thanks in advance if someone can help me,
    ~Slow
    Note: I don't need any special options, any special, non-standard install paths, nothing. Just a straight, stock, boost install.

    First, be sure you have the current patches for Sun Studio 12. You can get them here:
    http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/downloads/patches/
    Please install the current C++ compiler patch, the C compiler patch, and the common back-end compiler patch.
    You should then be able to build BOOST 1.37.0. The only problem I know of has been filed as CR 6767881, which results in an incorrect complaint about a constructor not being accessible. But I don't think that one affects regex.
    If you running into some other problem after patching the compiler, please post enough detail that we can investigate it.
    Questions about how to build just a portion of BOOST are probably best addressed to a BOOST forum.

  • Poor performance of string::append on Solaris 10 with Sun Studio 10

    I found string::append(size_type num, char ch) of libCstd consumes too much cpu time comparing with stlport. Anybody knows if this is a known issue on Solaris 10 and Sun Studio 10? Or if I need to use special build options to build with libCstd?
    For example: a.c
    #include <iostream>
    #include <time.h>
    using namespace std;
    int main()
      string ss;
      for ( i=0; i<60000; i++)
        ss.append(1, 'A');
      cout << clock();
      cout << endl;
      return 0;
    }Build with libCstd:
    CC a.c -o a1
    Build with stlport:
    CC -library=%none -library=stlport4 a.c -o a2
    a1 outputs: 10000
    a2 outputs: 1900000
    You can see how big different they have. I am sure their running environment is same.

    I suspect this is due to a bug in libCstd that manifests itself by reallocating the string for each append. Compile and run the program below:
    #include <string>
    #include <new>
    #include <stdlib.h>
    int in_main;
    void* operator new (size_t nbytes) throw (std::bad_alloc) {
    if (in_main) printf ("operator new (%zu)\n", nbytes);
    return malloc (nbytes);
    void operator delete (void *p) throw () {
    if (in_main) printf ("operator delete (%p)\n", p);
    free (p);
    int main () {
    in_main = 1;
    std::string ss;
    for (int i = 0; i < 256; i++) {
    printf ("append(1, 'A')\n");
    ss.append (1, 'A');
    in_main = 0;
    }

  • Configuring ClearCase with LabVIEW SCC

    Hi,
    I am developing VIs with LabVIEW pro. We are using ClearCase for SCC and I would like to configure LabVIEW with ClearCase.
    VIs are stored under vobs on a world wide network.
    Does anyone know how I can do?
    Second question, is it possible to configure ClearCase to use the LabVIEW pro compare tool? This will give ClearCase the capability to compare VI versions.
    BR,
    Pascal.

    Hello,
    ClearCase is not supported by LabVIEW, if you want to use a SCC, you can perform this task with the following SCC providers: Perforce and Visual Source Safe and Built-in.
    Built-in SCC is recommended only for small projects and is available in LabVIEW at no additional cost. “Microsoft Visual Source Safe” and “Perforce SCM” are complete SCC tools that are fully integrated into LabVIEW but must be purchased from the corresponding vendor.
