How to connect single ended connections?

I am new in this field. I am trying to accquire single ended data on
single channel using the following configuration(see fig A and fig B in the
attached figure) . It works all right when i take input from signal
generator. please notice specially the power/signal connections. I have
chosen NRSE settings.
For my application I have to to test the same settings when the input
signal is taken from 4* 1.5 V pencil cells ( see figure B). In this setting
however it does not work at all. I have again chosen NRSE settings. What is
the problem? What is NRSE and RSE? What is the difference? What should I
choose in this case?
Can anybody help?

  • How to specify "single ended" or "differential" data acquiring in NIDAQmx c++

    Dear all,
i wrote a program in VC++ which acquires some analog voltage channels using NIDAQmx. By means of the "DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan()" function it works properly, but I've faced a question:
When I measure a sine wave as a input channel whith diffrential terminals (pins) on NI-Device, there is no problem but if I connect the input signal in single ended form (connect input signal to each single terminal and connect GND of NI-Device and Signal generator together), there is a irrigular and alternative offset (DC value) in aqcuiered data that shows there is an error in connection of GND's. (I'm sure about function generators)
Is there any specific function to assign exactly that input data should be measured in differential or single ended form?  I mean, should I write seperate codes in C++, if I want to measure input signal in both forms of differential and single ended or does the mentioned function satisfy both needs (when the answer is positive wherefrom does this fault emerge)?
Thanks a lot for your helpfully replies in advance,
    sincerely yours,
    Mohammad Harati

    Hi Harati,
I'm not sure what your question is, but I have some questions too:
    1) Which device are you using?
    2) Did you connect the AI GND pin (in single ended)?
    3) As you called DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan(), what parameter did you set for terminalConfig in eiter cases?
Here is the documentation for DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan()

  • How to connect to MySQL back end in Syclo Agentry?

    Hello All,
I have worked on Syclo agentry with Non-SAP back end (MsSQL) and with SAP back end(Work Manager App).
But now I wanted to connect with MySQL Back end, I know that it is possible, because Syclo can deal with Oracle,IBM Maximo, MsSql and SAP(ERP,CRM...etc)
But how to connect with MySQL Back end. What is the procedure and the Configuration changes.
Could anyone help me out to find the way.
    Thanks,
    Swaroopa.

    Swaroopa,
You may also need to create/define your database globals if you are using SDML database tags in your queries.  For example  <<database.getSystemTime>> will evaluate differently for MySQL compared to SqlServer or Oracle
You will want to create a mysql_sd.ini file containing the various database SDML tags and their corresponding MySql values.  I would suggest copying the sqlserver_sd.ini and then update based on mysql syntax.
You will then want to update your Agentry.ini queryConstantFiles entry for the mySql backend settings to point to your new filename.

  • Differential vs. Single-ended connection

    Hi,
I want to acquire a signal from a photodiode, which its output is as current, in the following: you can find the link of that.
I'd like to know which type of connection should I select?Differential or single-ended?
    Thanks
    Petar

    Hi Petar2015,
I am unable to see the link that you intended to use, so I don’t know very well which photodiode you are using. In the following link, you should be able to find a little more information about the different ways to wire inputs.
    http://www.ni.com/white-paper/3344/en/
I would recommend you to use the single ended to acquire input of current. But if I were you, I would read through the document and analyze the ways to connect it with the diode you have.

HOW TO CONNECT TO A FRIEND WHO IS USING APPLE NOTEBOOK FROM MY IMAC SUGGEST ME WAITING FOR A SOLUTION FROM APPLE TEAM SUPPORT

    Hi,
Typing in all upper case is regarded and shouting here.
Presumably as you have posted in the OS X 10.7.x (Lion) area you are running this version of the OS on your iMac.
This will have iChat 6 on it.
This can use AIM, Jabber and Yahoo IDs within the app.
Apple IDS ending in @mac.com and iCloud issued @me.com and @icloud.com are also Valid AIM Screen Names.
If you use Googlemail and Enable "talk" in the products there you can then use your Google Mail ID as a Jabber ID (although it has it's own Add Account option in iChat)
Facebook has an option to Enable "Chat" which will give you a Chat ID variant on your name there and this can be used in iChat (or Messages) as a Jabber ID.
The Yahoo Account will only do Text chats.
It also has to be an actual ID registered at Yahoo.
Chats are then AIM to AIM or Jabber to Jabber or Yahoo to Yahoo.
So your Buddy will also need a suitable ID or Screen Name  for the relevant service.

  • How to connect Macbook to TV through Dvi to VGA adapter.

I recently got s Macbook and was wondering how to connect it to my 32 inch sony tv. I have the dvi to vga adapter and recently bought an adapter that converts the VGA into RGA adapters + S video (all of which my tv has) When I connect the TV with these components nothing happens. I am curious to know what the next steps are to getting the Macbook to recognize the tv and how to produce an image on my TV. Any input would be helpful

what plugs do you really have.. that was confusing? This is a Macbook (not pro)?
First, it could be as simple as going to System Preferences|Displays| and choose to "Detect Display". It may not be recognizing you plugged something in.
If you want to connect you should probably get the proper Apple mini-dvi adapters to match exactly what your TV has. I use the adapter from mini-DVI-to-DVI with my DVI-ready TV and it works great. They have one adapter for mini-DVI-to-VGA, and one from mini-DVI-to-Svideo. Note that multiple adapters assume you have 100% compatible input when often adapters "cheat" on the actual output side... data and signals are probably not getting thru... your Mac can't recognize the TV as connected.
If you want to live dangerously, you might try using the mini-to-DVI adapter with a DVI-HDMI cable (single cable, no adapter) and see if that works (HDMI is a legit DVI spec so it should work, it works in reverse for my DVD player to TV connection)

  • How to connect imac to tv?

    Hello All!
I was wondering how to connect the imac 27in i5 to my hdtv. does apple offer a HDMI adapter?
    thanks!

Hello I believe I'm attempting the same thing, and have a few further questions. Specifically this is for connecting a 27" iMac to a Samsung 46" tv.
I thought I had the video portion down when I bought this cord:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002J28NQ/ref=oss_product
I still think that may be the right cord. It connects fine to this Apple adaptor cord that came with the computer... I have two of them in fact. However the smaller end of the cord is not the same as what is on this Apple adaptor cord:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB570Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDA3Ng&mco=MTA4NDU0ODY
I think is the one I used, it has all the pins inside the little end.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9320G/A?fnode=MTY1NDA3Ng&mco=MTA4NDU0OTc
I have purchased this audio cord as well which I'm confident is fine, though hasn't arrived yet:

Could someone help me sort out the video side though?!?! THANK YOU

  • How to Connect Airport Express to Existing Wireless Network (Client Mode)

I am posting this for everyone tearing their hair out trying to connect the Airport Express to your own existing home wireless network. After spending 2 hours last night installing this on my father-in-law's home network, I hope to be able to save someone else the agony we went through.
    So here's the situation:
Say you already have your own home network set up, and all you want is to be able to use AirTunes to play music off iTunes into your speaker system. And, you don't need the printer sharing capability nor creation of another wireless network (2 of the features of Airport Express). Then this solution is for you - read on.
Unfortunately, Apple's user manual is very unclear how to connect Airport Express to your own network. When you look at the picture diagram they provide, they show Airport Express picking up its signal from another Apple-oriented base. This can make you think you need to buy another piece of hardware to make it work. DON'T If you read through the manual, the Support section here, etc., you will hear lots of talk about "Client Mode" - and that this is the only way to get it to work. Nice - but no one really tells you how to set up the Airport in client mode.
Do yourself a favor, toss that user manual aside and run these steps.
(Note: These directions assume your DSL/Cable Modem is hooked up to a wireless router or acts as its own wireless router)
    1. Get a cat5 Ethernet cable (anything but an orange cable - that's a crossover cable) like you would use to connect your PC to your router to pick up the Internet.
    2. Connect the Ethernet cable to the router on one end, and to the Airport Express unit on the other end.
    3. Plug in your Airport Express unit to the wall (this will not necessarily become its permanent location - you will be able to move it later). The light will glow solid Amber for about 30-45 seconds while it starts up, then blink Amber. At this point, the unit is ready to operate.
    4. Install the CD to the PC where your iTunes music is stored. This should be painless. Once you open the program, it should detect the Airport unit.
    5. At this point, the on-screen wizard will present you with your options, and walk you through the setup. This is much like the user manual describes - and you should be good to go form here forward.
    Some pointers:
    - When asked if you want to create a new network, join an existing network, or connect via Ethernet, choose the middle option for joining an existing network. You will need to know the name of your network, the password to connect to the network (if present), and the type of encryption used on the network (e.g. WEP, WPA, etc.). Side note, WPA is recommended, as it is a higher level of security than WEP. You will be able to configure the Airport Express unit to automatically login to your network.
    - I would recommend, when creating a password for the Airport Express unit, use the same password as your network, to avoid confusion.
    6. The very last step will ask you to save the settings to the Airport Express. Here's the kicker - when you save the settings, you are TRICKING the Airport Express into no longer acting as a network broadcaster, but instead being a "slave" to your own network. What do I mean? You will lose the connection from your PC to the Airport Express - an error message will pop up telling you the unit can no longer be found. While you might think you did something wrong, you actually were successful!
    7. Unplug your Airport Express, and disconnect the Ethernet cable from your router and the Airport unit. This will no longer be needed.
    8. Go to your desired location where you want to plug in your Airport Express unit. Before plugging it in, connect your Audio cable from the Airport Express to your audio receiver. Once that is connected, then plug in the Airport Express unit. The light will glow solid Amber for 30-45 seconds while it loads, and then will blink Amber for a brief period of time before turning solid GREEN. When this happens, you have successfully connected the Airport Express to your home network!
    9. Go back to your PC with iTunes. Open the Airport software - you should now have a listing for your Airport Express unit in the upper left. Click on this, and the wizard will guide you through connecting - you will need the password you created for the unit. You only need to go through this wizard once, and when finished, the software will tell you that can now use iTunes with your Airport unit.
    10. Open iTunes. On the lower right, you will see a dropdown for Speakers, and it should be defaulted to My Computer. Click on that drop-down, and you will see the name of your Airport unit. Click on that name, and now your music will broadcast to the Airport unit!
    11. Play a song in iTunes. Go to your audio receiver, and connect it to the channel for your external connection to the Airport Express unit. You should hear your music from iTunes. CONGRATULATIONS! =)
I hope these instructions were helpful - I am happy to answer any questions, so feel free to contact me, *******************@*****.**.
    <Edited by Moderator>

Thanks for the detailed directions. You are absolutely correct in stating that people should toss the user manual; it's pretty worthless. I have had a problem setting up my new Airport Express as I have described in an earlier post - http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1839873&tstart=45
One quick question - does using your setup process set the AE up as part of a distributed network where the AE is acting as a wireless router where it is extending the range of your network? Or, is it simply a wireless connection to your stereo for iTunes? I am interested in having both, since my AE will be at the other end of the house from the main wireless router.
    Thanks

  • How to connect SAP R/3- System with SAP NetWeaver Portal (2004s)?

    Hello to all,
sorry, can someone help me? How can I connect SAP R/3- System with SAP NetWeaver Portal (2004s)?
    Thanks and regards,
    Galyna

    Hi,
In previous link contain this info
This describes how to connect an SAP R/3 system to SAP NetWeaver Portal using an iView
    1)      Go to System Administration
    2)      Go to System Configuration
    3)      Go to Portal Content (Right Side Panel), open that folder.
    4)      Right Click on Portal Content, a Panel is displayed select "System (from Template)".
    5)      That will display a new view on right side, now select "SAP system using dedicated application server" from
the existing templates. (Other templates are possible - for example, load balanced or through a SAProuter connection string).
For this exercise, we'll use the simplest type.
    6)      Choose next
    7)      Give the System Name and System Id (which are mandatory fields) incase you want to give any brief notes
about the system then give them in the "Description" field.
    8)      Open the Newly Created System.
    9)      Now when you want to create a New System, you have to fill four Properties they are:
"Connector" - contains basic connectivty details
"Internet transaction Server (ITS) - if you wish to use SAPGUI for HTML and/or IACs",
"Web Application Server" - if you wish to access BSPs and/or Web Dynpro for ABAP and
    "User Management".
You also need at least one "System Alias" has to be defined from the Display drop down menu.
Make sure you have set end user access in the Permissions drop down menu to all users who need to access the system
    10)  Select "Connector" property, now fill the required fields such as:
    a)      Application Host (should be fully qualified hostname) - Give the R/3 "Application Name",
which can be obtained from the SAP Logon Pad (check what R/3 system you are using, right click on it , go to the properties,
it will open a window which has the Application Server Name.
    b)      Logical System Name - Give the logical name as defined in the backend system
    c)      SAP Client - Check the Client in the backend system and give the appropriate number (3 digits)
    d)      SAP System ID(SID)* - Check the R/3 properties and give the check for System ID
    e)      System Type* - Since we are connecting to R/3, select SAP_R3 system.
    f)       System Number - This is a two digit number that you can find in the SAP Logon Pad
    11)  Select "Internet transaction Server (ITS)" property, now fill the required fields like
    a)      ITS Description à Give some Description
    b)      ITS Host Name - Same as "Application Host" of R/3 (when integrated ITS) and should be attached with the
port number of ITS Server (to get port number detailed description is given below). ex: hostname : port number
    c)      ITS Path - To get the path along with the port number you have to Log on to R/3 system. Use the
Transaction Code "SICF", it opens a new window go to:
          default_host -> sap -> bc -> gui -> sap -> its -> webgui -> SAP GUI for HTML -> right click on
that and click "Test Service'. This will open a new window, on the address bar you will find the "port number", and
the path something like (/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui). Use the path after the port number.
    d)      ITS Protocol - There are two protocols "http" & "https", select the appropriate protocol which is
visible when you opened "Test Service" window.
    12)  Select "Web Application Server" property , now fill the required fields like
    a)      Web AS Description -> Give some Description
    b)      Web AS Host Name - same as ITS Host Name
    c)      Web AS Path - usually /sap/bc/bsp/sapd)*
Web AS Protocol - should be same as the ITS Protocol.
    13)   Select "User Management" property, now fill the required fields like
    a)      Authentication Ticket Type - Since we are not using SSO leave the field
empty i.e. put in select mode. (Please note that longer term you will probably want to use SSO)
    b)      Logon Method - Select UIDPW.
    c)      User Mapping Type - In case you have administration rights then you choose "admin" or in case you
just have user rights then choose "user", better go for "admin/user".
    14)   Since all the required fields are filled appropriately now create a System Alias name, this can be done by following steps:
    a) go to Display -> Select "System Aliases" give some Alias Name, let's call it "SAP_R/3"
    15)  Now that System is created we have to create a iView which will display the given Transaction Code.
    16)  Go To "Content Administration".
    17)  Go To "Portal Content".
    18)  Go to Portal Content (Right Side Panel), open that folder
    19)  Right Click on Portal Content, a Panel is displayed select "New" -> iView
    20)  Select iView template, click next
    21)  Select "SAP Transaction iView" from the list of templates available. Click next.
    22)  Give the iView name and iView ID. Incase you want to give any brief notes about the iView then give it in "Description" field. Click next
    23)   Select "SAP GUI for HTML" radio button. Click next
    24)  Now select the system which you have create "SAP_R/3", give some Transaction Code, say SE12 (Dictionary Display). Click next and Finish.
    25)  Now Preview the iView
    26)  You will see a new Window where in SE12 Dictionary Display window is displayed.
    Regards,
    Senthil K.
