How to connect to yamaha disklavier mark III

I have a macbook pro and want to play midi files on my yamaha disklavier piano.  I have installed the yamaha UX16 driver and made the connections.  The macbook pro recognizes the disklavier as an attached device.
I cannot get anything to go from the mac to the piano or vice versa.  I have read the disklavier manual and can't figure it out.  I'm sure that it's hopelessly simple.  Any help is appreciated.

Nevermind- My "in" cable had to be connected to out and vice-versa

  • Z68A-GD80 (G3) RAID 10 (Intel Controller) How to Connect to MB in SATA III???

In the User Guide and in the promo/product description for this MB it says it supports RAID 10 Intel and the minimum number of drives needed is four.
There are only TWO SATA III connectors on the MB(Intel).  How do you connect four SATA III SSDs to the MB for RAID 10????
I just bought four SATA III SSDs and they were blister packed and nonreturnable!!
    HELP!!

The MSI Specs do NOT make this clear! Period!
The MSI specifications did never tell you that there are more than 2 SATA ports available via the same controller, which would be the precondition for a 4xSATA-III-RAID-10-Setup. There is no Z68 mainboard out there that has more than 2 SATA-III ports on the same controller.
What you are mad about is yourself not checking the number of available SATA-III ports on the same controller.  This information is out there, clearly written on the product page, in the user manual and is even indicated by the coloring of the SATA ports themselves.
All you need to do is accept the fact that it is actually you that did not properly acknowledge this clearly available information.
There is no Intel mainboard out there on the market with 4 x SATA-III ports on the same controller, which means a RAID-10-array of 4xSATA-III drives is completely impossible unless you find an add-on SATA-III RAID controller offering at least 4 SATA-III ports which supports a RAID 10 configuration.

  • Airport and yamaha disklavier

Here comes a question from a total novice.
Has anyone tried to connect their iMac wirelessly to a Yamaha Disklavier Mark III using Airport Express or Extreme? Does it work? What do I need to do? I'm trying to avoid copying midi files to floppies.
    Thanks for the help!

If you temporarily disable wireless security on the AirPort Extreme's wireless network, can the Yamaha connect now? If not, what radio mode (802.11a/b/g/n) is the Extreme set for?

  • How do I download pictures from a Canon 5D Mark III to my Mac mini (mid 2010)

Got a Canon 5D Mark III and I was wondering how I'm going to download the pictures to my Mac mini (mid 2010).  Would I need any special software and a card reader?  Saw a 3.0 USB card reader for sale but didn't think that would work on my Mac mini.  Please confirm.

If the USB 3 card reader states that it is backwards compatible with USB 2, it should work. Otherwise, purchase a USB 2 card reader.

  • Canon 5d mark III does not recognize the Canon Speedlite 580EX II is connected

When I choose External Speedlite control/ Flash function settings on the 5D.
I get a dialogue that says
This menu cannot be displayed. Incompatible flash or flash's power is turned off.
Flash is on. If I take a photo, flash fire's. Pictures are ALWAYS over exposed when using the flash.
Does the 580EX II work with the 5D Mark III?

The loose foot plate is a fairly common issue (and easily fixed).
But also keep in mind that there are 5 metal contact pins on the foot of the flash and these mate with the 5 pins on the camera hot-shoe.  The 6th contact is the hot-shoe itself (the metal foot plate is actually the ground contact and it mates with the rails on the camera hot-shoe to provide the ground connection.)
Those 5 pins are spring-loaded.  If you push them with your finger tips, they should push in and spring back out when you release them.  If a piece of dirt manages to get widged into the pin, then it might keep it from springing back out properly and prevent it from making a good connection to the camera.  If this happens, the camera may believe it does not have an ETTL flash connected.  The pins would need to be cleaned (Do not oil them... that would only attract more dirt.  The pins have a loose fit that requires no lubricant.   Just clean out whatever dirt may be present if the pins are not performing as they should).

The Canon 5D Mk 111 was supported from LR 4.1, see the link below. Just update LR to the latest version. See link below

  • Re: EOS 5D Mark II fails to connect (Code 43) but 5D Mark III connects fine!

    Hi Mike,
I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. I had looked for the Delete Post option but couldn't locate it.
Here's a quick update. I later discovered the one pin on each of the 5D Mark II port was bent, using a VisibleDust sensor loupe. Took me a while using DIY tools that are small enough to reach inside to unbent the pins. So glad all that's sorted and I'm back in business. It's obvious looking at the USB port, the 5D mark III has a more robust design in that such accident would not cause the issue I encountered.
    Thanks for your time.

    Shimworld,
The best thing to do right now is to rule out whether or not the USB port on the camera is what caused the error in Windows.  Try connecting the camera to another computer.
If the camera connects just fine to the other computer, then there is something wrong in Windows that will need to be corrected.  We will be happy to help with this if you Contact Us directly, as this may require some more in-depth troubleshooting.
If the camera does not connect properly to the other computer and you receive a similar error, then there may be a problem with the USB port on the camera.  If this turns out to be the problem, the camera will need to be repaired by our Factory Service Center.  To start the repair process, you'll need to complete a Repair Request on our website.

  • Back button focusing for 5d Mark III. How do I set it up?

How do I set up Back Button focusing on my new 5D Mark III.  Can't find instructions in Canon supplied manual or third-party book.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It's really easy because it's mostly already set up... The AF-On button on the back of the camera already starts and stops AF.
To set up true BBF technique, you turn off the AF function at the shutter button. I believe it's Custom Function IV, 1:  Opertaion/Others.... where you make button assignments.  Navigate to the shutter button icon and press "set" to enter the options for that... change to the center one "metering start" and press "set" again. Done.
Optionally you can swap the function of the AF-On and "*" (AE Lock) buttons, using the same button assignment tool.

  • Has anyone used an Airport Express to connect to a Yamaha Disklavier Piano?

Does anyone own a Yamaha Disklavier piano and have it connected to the internet using an airport express?

Just plugged my Airport Express into a power strip and ran the Ethernet cable to the back of the Yamaha E3 Disclavelier's Ethernet port. Used Apple's Airport Utility to verify it shows up on my network. You can then download the Yamaha Disklavelier App from the App Store and now my iPhone controls the piano. Super easy and way cool!

  • How to import Raw files from the Canon 5D Mark III into PSE12? [was: cr2]

I have Photoshop Elements 12 and I can't import Canon 5D Mark III CR2 files.

Not sure what you mean by view the photos?  Are they showing in the camera raw dialog when you choose a CR2 file from the menu in expert mode:
    File >> Open
What computer and operating system are you using?
Can you try shooting a couple of new CR2 files and then put them into a folder on your hard drive rather than the external drive. Can you import from that location using the Organizer menu:
File >> Get photos & Videos >> From Files & Folders

  • EOS C100 and 5D Mark III - How to use together, match settings, etc.

I shoot with both of these cameras and wondering if anyone has a reference for matching the picture settings. For example, on the C100, there is a custom preset setting 'EOS Standard' that I assume corresponds to the 'Standard' picture style on the 5D Mk III. But, what if I want to shoot cinema locked, HDR or some other way?

As a matter of fact, I had the 5D Mark II bundle at first, and Then I installed the new Mark III bundle with version 3 of the EOS utility. None of it is working - in terms of creating a new preset.
It seems wrong that the window that opens with 'Register User Defined Style' has a drop down with all of the default presets already in the camera. That drop down should not be there, should it? There should only be the choice to import a new preset or maybe edit an existing preset. If you wanted one of the defaults, you would select it from the previous menu window.
For your purposes, I think I'd drop back to version 2 of the EOS Utility. Version 3 is very new and is aimed at compatibility with the rather idiosyncratic version 4 of DPP. EOS 3 has worked well for me so far, but if I were having trouble with it, I'd revert.

  • HT3825 How to view RAW from Canon 5D mark III for OS 10.6

To 'Preview' RAW files from Canon 5D mark III, it is known that you need to install the Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 3.12 , but it can only be used with iphoto 9, which in turn only work in OS 10.7, so there is no way for 10.6 users to 'Preview' the RAW files? Please help if you no any other ways, thank you!

    Which Adobe program?
    Which version?
