How to contain a stock vector into an existing shape?

Hello!
I made a shape with a fill and I downloaded a stock vector that I would like to be contained within this shape. Basically where you see the flower of life I would like it to be inside the pink area, and nothing else of the flower of life showing
I figured a clipping masks would essentially join them together but it doesn't give hte desire result that I want. Any help would be appreciated. I am but a novice.

Are Virtual Copies saved in Backups? How do I insert a backup into an existing catalog
I deleted a tif image file that I didn't intend to, which had several LR virtual copies created from it. The virtual copies had a lot of important history that document my print preparation edits. Are these virtual copies saved in the LR backups?
If so, how can I insert them into the catalog I am using? I have made a lot of edits in the two days since my last backup and don't want to lose that history either. Do you suggest I make a current backup before retrieving files from my last backup? I know I'm supposed to go to the backup location and open the last backup, but how do I blend that with the current work from the last 2 days?

That was exactly what I was after. However, I'm still having trouble getting the virtual copies imported. The master file was in my trash, I restored it to the original hard drive folder. Before I got your message I re- imported it to LR but of course LR came up with a new name since I was importing from and saving it to the same folder in LR. And of course no copies. This may have been a mistake, but before starting the procedure you described, I re-named the master file (it seemed that the import from backup would re-create it so I didn't want a conflict).
Then I did what you said and used the 'Import From Another Catalog' feature. I found the virtual copies in the backup and checked them. But when the import completed, the it gave me file names xxx/Copy1, xxx/Copy2 but there was no image or history or metadata. When I tried to find the folder containing the files, it said it couldn't be found. So I missed something in the settings. When I tried again, there was a warning saying the file(s) exists in the catalog and its settings differ. I went ahead anyway and the message I got was "No Photos in previous import"
Here's what the import from backup shows:
A box with catalog contents and all the folders and files within them, that you can check.
A New Photos section, which gives 2 file handling choices: a)add new photos to the catalog without moving them or b) don't import new photos
A Changed existing photos section with 2 replace options: a) nothing or b) Metadata and develop setting only. If you choose this you can check a box to preserve old settings as a virtual copy.
Not sure what to do. I changed the master file back to its original name, but that didn't make a difference. Suggestions? Thanks, Tom

"Photos" just got dumped on me with the OSX upgrade. I cannot find out how to move a photo into an existing album after importing it into "Photos" It is NOT intuitive on how to create and manipulate albums.

How do you embed a gallery into an existing website?

I have an existing website and I would like to embed a Lightroom gallery into that website. I am not sure how to get it on my web page since the code from the gallery puts out an index.html page. The program has everything I want but only if I can put into existing web pages.
I can upload the page and get it to run on its own but that is not what I want. I want it embeded into my existing website. Thanks.

One way to do it is put each gallery in its own subdirectory of your main page (you can use multiple sub galleries) and then have the main page in the root that links to the index.html files in each subdirectory. If your main page is not in the root you have to add the appropriate structure in the return link in the lightroom created gallery "Web or Mail Link" setting.
In the main page the link to my NATURE page would be   ../nature/index.html
Then in the Lightroom created NATURE page you can use the "Contact Info" or "Identity Plate" (This can be graphical as shown on my page)     "Web or Mail Link" setting to return to the main page using      ../index.html

How do I place an image into an existing picture box?

I used to be able to select an existing picture box, then hit Command-D and select a new image. It would then pop into the existing box I had selected. Now something different happens... a thumbnail appears over my cursor and I have to stamp the image down in a new box. This is annoying and wastes time because now I have to cut and paste the image into the existing box.
Have I changed a setting or something? HELP

How to contain the manual po into the PS cost?

My customer requirement:
1. sometime my customer will use cn22 to create the PR.And then convert PR to PO. we use the menu edit->costs/ itemization in tcode CN22 to see the item cost. all the item corresponding the cost element we just created will be included.
2. but sometime my customer may manually create PO using ME23N and in the tab:Account Assignment category,user will assign the network number and activity number. But After PO created, use the cn22, menu edit->costs/itemizaiton to see, it won't include the item we just created.
so user wants to include the manualpo item into the itemization, can we realize this function ? or if we can, can you tell me the which user exit can implement it.

Hi Susan,
It the PO is generated from the CN22, there is normally a material assigned to the activity. And this material cause the costs in the itemization view, not the PO. The PO then causes the commitment, which is not considered at the itemization.
If the user create the PO in ME* directly, it only post a commitment to the activity. No material will be assigned to activity, certainly. => No planned costs, => not visible in itemization.

How do I move imported photos into an existing album in photos

I have a large collection of photos in iPhoto, arranged into events and albums.
If I now import from my camera i open up photos, not iPhoto.
After importing images how do I add specific images to one, or more, of my existing albums.
If I close photos and open iPhoto I can still import to iPhoto but the images do not appear in photos.

How can I get my text into a wedge shape (without losing quality)?

I'm using PS CS3... So the effect I'm going for is like what you would get if you had an image, and you do Edit > Transform > Distorted it, moving the lower right corner towards the center. The problem is that Distort is not an option for text layers . I tried making my text layer into an image layer and distorting it, but this method make my letters look pixelated. The closest I've got is to do Layer > Type > Warp Text with zero Bend and a negative Horizontal Distortion... But doing that makes both the top AND bottom of my text taper inward. I only want the BOTTOM part of the text to slope. Please help!

One could convert the Text to a Smart Object and then apply the Distortion or Warp.
If the result appears pixelated one could open the SO and increase the resolution, which should alleviate the problem somewhat.
Edit: In CS3 the perspectival transformation for SOs is not directly available, but can be simulated with Warp.
A further option would be creating a Layer with a Vector Mask from the Text (Layers – Type – Convert to Shape; best done on a duplicate of the original text layer) and transform that; this would maintain sharp edges at the price of losing text-editability.

How do I insert a file into an existing portfolio?

I use a feature of Outlook 2010 to move an email message into an Adobe Portfolio. It all happens automatically once I tell Outlook to put it there. My issue is that I put one email msg into the wrong portfolio and want to move it to the proper portfolia. I was able to extract it from the improper portfolio but in so doing, it turned the email message into a pdf file. I do not know how to use Acrobat to add that pdf file to the proper portfolio. I tried combining the file with the portfolio but Acrobat extracted all of the emails from the portfolio as pdf files and then combined all files as a massive pdf file instead of adding it to the portfolio.
Can anyone tell me how to do this or what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks Lori. That worked to move the file into the correct portfolio as well as to display it in the layout index. My only quibble is that it does not keep it in date order and I was not able to see how to add the email information ( "To", "From", "Subject" and "Date") to the metadata so it would show up in the index. At least I have it in the correct portfolia now, so thanks for that.

Here, In the matrix report the NAME and UNITS are row fields and 'DAYS' is column field , RATE would be the cell field, and

In the report i have to display the 'BASIC' along with the NAME in row level ( repeating frame printing down),
To get the multiple 'Basic' for each 'Name' using a ref cursor .
and, using a function to do further calculation based on the basic value

and return the calculated value to the report. But at that time cannot accommodate the value in the matrix report with other groups frequency.

How to insert a templated page into an existing Pages document

I'm sorry if this is a low level question. I'm new to using Pages. I have a word processing document started. I want to add pages, or I guess they call them "sections" in this form (why?). I have saved a page that I created as a template. It exists in my template folder. But when I go to add new pages to my document I am only offered the option of adding a text document or a blank page. It doesn't give me the option of adding the template that I made. Everything I've tried results in opening a new document or making a copy of the template. This does not feel very intuitive to me.

You are taking about Pages '09? because this has been removed from Pages 5.
Clunky as it may be it does have some very powerful features.
You can capture as many pages into a Section as you want, which automatically sets up a document in depth. Once you have done the work, it is super fast to compose a new document from all the parts.
It is a shame that Apple didn't simply fix what needed fixing with this model, instead of ditching it, because I am really stumped how to set up documents in the current version.

I have been doing a newsletter for 18 months in pages. SInce the last update I have been unable to find a way to add a page to my document or change positions of pages. I have searched online for answers which did not help, and all the tutorials I found are not for the updates version. Help, this app is useless if I can't do this!

How could you not find the hundreds, if not thousands, of references here to the missing features in Pages 5?

When Editing A Web Page In Edge Animate, How Can I Embed Edge Elements Into Pre-Existing DIV's?

I created a basic layout with some boxes in Dreamweaver. I set the Overflow property on them to "Hidden". I then opened the page in Edge Animate. However I noticed that when I import stuff, such as an image, then try to drag it into one of the existing DIV's, it won't work. It stays on top of all the other DIV's. However if I create a box or some other sort of DIV directly in Edge Animate, I can drag the Image element into that, so it's enclosed within that DIV.
I guess the workaround appears to be to embed the image into the DIV in Dreamweaver first, then open the page in Edge. However it would be nice to not have to keep jumping back and forth like that. Is there a way to do this in Edge Animate?
Also, I noticed when I select one of the DIVs I made in Dreamweaver, many of the Properties such as Corners, Shadow, and Filters are missing. Can these only be used on DIV's created directly in Edge Animate?

What you're seeing is the difference between what we define as a static div (one that is defined outside of Animate) and a managed div (one that is defined inside of Animate). Due to the fact that we expect other products to change a static div, we limit the amount of changes you can make to a static div. Because we "manage" a div that is created inside of Animate, we allow a lot more changes to be made to a div. Hope that answers your question! I'd suggest creating divs within Animate if you want to eventually change them to have corners, etc.
