How to continue to play iTunes even after the cover of my MacBook Pro is closed?

I would like to play iTunes in my MacBook Pro during travel.  As it is better and safer to keep the MacBook closed during travel, I would like the iTunes to continue to play.  How is it to be achieved?

There is no easy solution.
An iPod will do the job.
Best.

  • Why does itunes and other media continue to play when i close the lid on my macbook pro 2011???

Hey, I am new to mac and still getting used to it (making the transition from windows), its amazing! Anyhow, I cannot figure out why my itunes and other media like youtube or a film on vlc player continues to play once the lid has been closed. I thought that when i close the lid the macbook should then sleep. It does everytime when there is nothing playing. The little white light on the bottom right hand corner of the book is on but music continues to play.
The sleep option always works. If I press the power button and choose the option sleep it does so etcc.
Is this normal and am I just being stupid or is there a problem??
I bought the laptop from ebay, its a macbook pro late 2011 17inch. I dont have apple support and might have to make a trip into London to the mac store however I was hoping someone can help me...
Processor  2.4 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
    Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
Thanks if you can it is muc appreciated....!!

hey, thanks for the reply. I don't know to be perfectly honest. When I close the lid without any music playing it sleeps fine. How could I check?
So basically I pressed the power button and pressed sleep. The laptop turned off and the little white light turned on no problem. I did the same thing with closing the lid and it went to sleep no problem. (Can you confirm that when the little white light is on it means the laptop is sleeping)??.
I then had itunes playing and pressed the power button and when i pressed sleep the music paused then 6 seconds later it went to sleep. I then had itunes playing and closed the lid and the music kept on playing even though the white light was on.

How do i fix a small bend in the corner on my macbook pro?

It depends upon the bend and the exact location.  In all likelihood replacement will be the most efficient method of repair or just ignoring it.

  • How do I get photos from out of the trash on my MacBook Pro

How do I remove photos from the Trash on my MacBook Pro?  Am using Kodak Easyshare program and have tried using both to no avail
    Pat

    Recover Files in The Trash
If you simply put files in the Trash you can restore them by opening the Trash (left-click on the Trash icon) and drag the files from the Trash to your Desktop or other desired location.  OS X also provides a short-cut to undo the last item moved to the Trash -press COMMAND-Z.
If you empty the Trash the files are gone. If a program does an immediate delete rather than moving files to the Trash, then the files are gone.  Recovery is possible but you must not allow any additional writes to the hard drive - shut it down. When files are deleted only the directory entries, not the files themselves, is modified. The space occupied by the files has been returned to the system as available for storage, but the files are still on the drive. Writing to the drive will then eventually overwrite the space once occupied by the deleted files in which case the files are lost permanently. Also if you save a file over an existing file of the same name, then the old file is overwritten and cannot be recovered.

  • How do I transfer my iTunes library from my pc to my Macbook Pro?

A few months ago, I bought a Macbook Pro.  Meanwhile, my iTunes library remains on my pc.  I would like to transfer my iTunes library to my Macbook Pro, because that is the computer I use the most.  No matter what I've done, I can't figure out how to do that.  I'd appreciate any feedback on this issue.
Thank you for your time, Featherback.

  • How do I transfer my iTunes library from my iBook to my MacBook Pro?

I have just bought a 17" MacBook Pro nd want to transfer my iTunes library from my iBook. (lots and lots of songs) I did not have access to my iBook when I first authorised the MB and later tried to use the migration assistant in Tiger.
Although it seemed to work I could not find my iTunes library and it did not transfer. All the settings on the iBook should have allowed me to do this.
Any suggestions, other than start from scratch installing the track?
    Thanks
    TT

You can link the two laptops together with either Airport or Ethernet and get really fast transfer speeds without wasting time transferring everything to an external HD first. After the physical connection, set it up in the Network pane of your System Preferences. Alternately, you can connect the two macs with a firewire cable. Then restart the old Mac while holding down the "t" key. This will start your old Mac in firewire target mode, basically turning it into a harddrive which will mount on the desktop of your new Mac.
You might be able to drag and drop your iTunes folder from the Home>Music directory of your old Mac into the Home>Music directory. Otherwise, you can drag the folder to the desktop of the new machine and then drag and drop each individual folder into the iTunes window of the new Mac to import the music. Be sure to deauthorize (from the iTunes Music Store) your old iBook before selling it.

  • How do I download previous music purchases from the Cloud to my Macbook Pro?

I recently purchased my first Apple computer, but have been a longtime iPod user, and as of this past February an iPhone user. So upon getting my new Macbook Pro, I of course began to sync what songs I had purchased from iTunes on my old Windows computers, and iPod and iPhone, that were supposed to be stored in the Cloud. Well, as I've been importing all the physical CD's i own, I began to notice that some of my iTunes purchases hadnt downloaded from the Cloud. So now I've gone through my iPod to see what songs are missing and which aren't. I know now that I am missing two full albums, as well as what I think is another 25+ single songs I've downloaded, and unfortuantely I cannot figure out how to retrieve them for the life of me.  I'm very frustrated that all my purchases didnt show up from the Cloud in the first place! Any help?

  • How do I get an iCloud icon onto the dock for my MacBook Pro?

I assume the easiest way to access iCloud is by putting an icon onto my MacBook Pro DOCK.   Is this correct?  And if it is, how do I install the icon onto the Dock?

There is no iCloud application, therefore no iCloud icon. Think of it as a 'service' that is accessible thru other applications, preferences and devices.
If you use the iCloud web site a lot, you could add an icon to the web site.

  • How do I reinstall my operating system after hard drive upgrade on MacBook pro?  I have Snow Leopard install disc

How do I reinstall my operating system (Snow Leopard) after a hard drive upgrade. I did a Time Machine backup before the new hard drive was installed. I put in the Snow Leopard install disc and don't get the icon I'm supposed to double click to install Snow Leopard and then the backup.
    HELP PLEASE!!

Is the new HHD in the MBP?
Is the new HDD formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)?
Where is the old HDD? In an enclosure?  What is on the old HDD, your user data?  Is the Snow Leopard System on it?
Do you have a separate Time Machine Disk with your user data?
Answers to these questions should give an exact status of your situation so that one can proceed in the right direction.

  • Error 0xE8000065 on my iTunes when connecting the iPad to my MacBook Pro

hello! a couple of hours ago, I tried to switch off my iPad. flipped the finger over the red arrow and the classic wheel started to run... but the iPad never switched off. is still "thinking"... then, I connected the iPad to the Computer (MacBookPro OS X 10.7) and iTunes shows an error message: 0xE8000065.
I've read everything about it. The problem is that all the possible solutions don't contemplate the possibility of the iPad not been able to be switched off because is in a kind of loop, or blocked... I don't know what to do. I've called Support and they don't work on sundays. Any similar case that can give me some light on this problem? never before my iPad got stuck and were not able to be shut down and restarted again...
    halps in advance

yes, I read "everything" including this article, which is mostly for PC users. I am a Mac user. In the last part of the feature they explain what to do with a Mac computer, a test that of course I did before putting my request in this forum, but as I explained, none of these answers take into consideration the fact that my iPad was in a kind of loop and couldn't be accesed. So I tried, and succeed, to do a hard reset and it worked.
    thanks for the link
