I want to create a scrollable array of control/indicator pairs from a config file. Something that looks like the attached image. Of course, I can only create an array that's either either a control or indicator -- not both (the operator should not be able to edit the name or change the state of the LED). So I guess I need to split the array and have two side-by-side and SOMEHOW link the scrollbars. But then I have no idea how I can get the control switch states from the array. Is there an easier way to do what I'm trying to do?

Another option would be to use the custom control I built for you, see below. You can just drop this into an array, it should look like your example (more or less).

How to create a table with varied number of columns?

I am trying to create a balance table. The colunms should include years between the start year and end year the user will input at run time. The rows will be the customers with outstanding balance in those years.
If the user input years 2000 and 2002, the table should have columns 2000, 2001, 2002. But if the user input 2000 and 2001, the table will only have columns 2000 and 2001.
Can I do it? How? Thanka a lot.

I know how to create a chart in order to append new data points to those points already in the display, but a regular chart doesn't let me specify the x axis data points. Ok,
1) the UNLOAD PRIORITY has nothing to do with the order of data loads in your ETL process
2) Unloading of columns will happen automatically. Don't specify anything specific for the tables, then SAP HANA will take care about it
3) Not sure where you get your ideas from, but there is no need to manually "flush" tables or anything like that. SAP HANA will take care of memory housekeeping.
4) Partitioning and how to specify it for tables has been largely documented. Just read up on it.
5) Delta Merge will happen automatically, as long as you don't prevent it (e.g. by trying to outsmart the mergedog rules)
Seriously, I get the impressions that this list of requirements is based on some hear-say and lack of actual information and experience with SAP HANA. There are a couple of extensive discussions on data loading optimization available here in SCN and on SAPHANA.COM. Please read those first.
All this had been discussed broadly a couple of times.

If you have a playlist on the iPod.... In shuffle mode, only songs play. Set the iPod to play-in-order (not shuffle). Remark: Yet reduced all indention's (? German: Einzug) and other spacers and the size of used font of the table.

unfortunatly Pages connot create a table with more than 20 columns. This is no question of size or place.
But you can create two tables, set the most right border of the fist table to "no line" and align the second table (with the other 12 columns) at the right side of the first table. Now you have "one" table with 32 columns.
I have done this with my driving book (Fahrtenbuch, um es korrekt zu schreiben and it works fine.

Are you saying that you want a column with only th's? You could also just apply some CSS on that specific column that its rows look like headers.

This is what i want to do - I want to create an array of JButtons that has 8 rows of 8 buttons, could someone help me with this (im creating a checkers board) all i need is the array of buttons and them in 8 rows of 8 buttons .... im pretty confident in the way of making them do what i want but need help getting it up and running .... please note it is to be done in the swing environment and not in a applet or anything - ie in a JPanel and a JFrame .... any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

But that's doesn't work!
Apparently I must specify the dimension of my array
So I have done like that :
Object[][] data;
data = new Object[3] [3];
And that work!

I have the error message :

if you have:
Object[][] data;
data = new Object[3] [3];you end yo getting ArrayIndexOutOfBoundException if you try to point to some other Indexes. You can increase the size by doing new:
Object[][] data;
data = new Object[4] [3];and then copy the old Arrays to this one... this is heavy.
Other thing to consider then is using some other datastructure, such as Vector, which grows along you add elements to it.

I need to create a typed array T[] from an object array Object[]. This is due to legacy code integration with older collections.
The method signature is simple:public static <T> T[] toTypedArray(Object[] objects)I tried using multiple implementations and go over them in the debugger. None of them create a typed collection as far as I can tell. The type is always Object[].
A simple implementation is just to cast the array and return, however this is not so safe.
What is interesting is that if I create ArrayList<String>, the debugger shows the type of the array in the list as String[].
If I create ArrayList<T>, the class contains Object[] and not T[].
I also triedT[] array = (T[]) Array.newInstance(T[].class.getComponentType(), objects.length);And a few other combinations. All work at runtime, create multiple compilation warnings, and none actually creates T[] array at runtime.
Maybe I am missing something, but Array.newInstace(...) is supposed to create a typed array, and I cannot see any clean way to pass Class<T> into it.T[].class.getComponentType()Returns something based on object and not on T, and T.class is not possible.
So is there anything really wrong here, or should I simply cast the array and live with the warnings?

Can somebody suggest a good way to put the result set of a query of a standard table into an array?
The result set will have 0 to many rows. I can copy the rows into the array one row at a time, but I don't know what size array to create at the start.

How to create a report with dynamic no of columns

Hi All,
we have a report with 6 columns.
and its been access by 10-20 people.
the user dont want to have a fix report with 6 columns rather they want to have a flexibility to select the columns from the report they want to see.
i.e. user one one time wasnt to see only one columns
another time he want to see only column 2 and 4 of the report.
its like there can be a multiple select option from where he can select the columns in the existing report and then see the same report with only that much column.
Please tell me how to implement it.

Currently when i logging to OBIEE and see that report
i will be getting report with 6 column
but now i want a flexibility of selecting only 2 or 3 or 1 or 4 or 5 as i wish columns from this report and see the result only for that
so is there by any chance i can have a check box for each column which i can check in dashborad to select that column
and show the result were as by default it will show the report with 6 column.
