How to Create a Horizontally Scrolling Portfolio

There are a couple of great portfolio sites in the Adobe Site of the Day with a series of images that move to the left as the user scrolls down. The one I like best is not a one page website. It has a navigation menu that stays pinned to the top and each page in the site stands on its own as in any other website. This is it: http://www.erickusters.nl/
I admit I'm a little crazy to be wanting to tackle something like this when I've never used parallax scrolling at all but, like this designer, I have worked in a wide variety of media and have a lot of work I want to present.
I have watched every tutorial I can find and played with the program a fair amount but I haven't been able to figure out how to achieve this. Somebody on one website suggested making the website extremely wide but I tried looking at this site's source code and it doesn't look like that's what he did. . . although the code was almost impossible for me to make heads or tails out of so I may have missed something. (I know html and basic css but this is beyond me.)
Any guidance on this?

Creating a Horizontally Scrolling Gallery in Muse

I need to create a horizontally scrolling gallery, something that shows four images at a time, and automatically scrolls through said images, a total of about twenty images.
The end result my client wants is for the gallery to show four images, highlight each one at time, and then scroll in the next four, but I don't even see a way to just create a simple scrolling gallery in muse.
Is there any way to do this? Any suggestions for something I can drop into muse to make this happen? I have seen several people ask this question, but it never seems to get any answers, and google has been less than enlightening on this.

I understand that I can tooltip over them, but what I'm looking for is something that will allow me to do something like this example on the main page for Lionsgate.com. The functionality I want is to be able to present the player with a menu of thumbnail buttons which will change a main display, very much like what you illustrated above. What is different, however, is that I want the user to be able to SCROLL a list of thumbnails which are contained within a menu window. In this way, if I wanted to have links to twenty or fifty or a hundred buttons/thumbnails, I can present the player with only a few at a time without completely cluttering the interface. They can use arrow keys to scroll up or down through the available thumbnails. It's a very common interface, and Apple uses the ribbon idea as part of their main interface.
Long story short, is it possible to replicate this with existing Muse widgets, or does someone know of a not-too crazy way to do this?

How do I create a horizontal collage in PSE 9? It will only let me do a vertical layout.

Select one of the vertical templates and then use the Editor main menu:
File >> Save As
Then choose PSD and save to your desktop.
Close the collage project and then use:
File >> Open and navigate to your saved PSD file
Then use the menu:
Image >> Rotate (90 degrees left or right)
Click window >> Layers
In the layers pallet highlight each layer with an image/place holder and select the move tool to position/rotate/scale each one individually.

How can I hide horizontal scroll bar?

Some websites use CSS code (overflow-x: hidden or overflow-y:hidden), that shows the horizontal scroll bar while the frame on the website is centered and only 800 pixels wide, but I really don't need my horizontal scroll bar to show up. So how can I hide it?

If you use <b>overflow: hidden</b> then you shouldn't see a scroll bar (overflow:scroll does that).<br />
If that doesn't work then try to add the !important; or use the code in Stylish or to userContent.css in the chrome folder.

How to get the Horizontal Scroll Bar for a Table?

As per my requirement, I am displaying several records in a Screen in a Tabular Format. But here I have to show 21 Columns in that table which is too high. I am able to display it but due to it I am getting a Horizontal scroll bar for the whole screen since all the columns are not getting displayed in the normal window screen space. But its looking too odd since once I am scrolling it to right the columns are getting displayed but the above Header Bar and Global buttons are not displaying, they are bound to the normal screen space.
Is there a way to have a Horizontal scroll bar only for that table instead of the entire screen so that on scrolling that bar only the table rows will beshifted ant got displayed?

How do I eliminate horizontal scrolling with wireless mouse?

Is there a way to disable just the horizontal scrolling on a wireless mouse? I have Mac OS X 10.6.8. I've searched Google and found several sources that recommend typing "defaults write com.apple.driver.Apple BluetoothMultitouch.mouse MouseHorizontalScroll -bool NO" in the Terminal window but it does not work. Any help would be appreciated.

It will only last until the next startup, but
Open Terminal (in your Applications/Utilities folder):
Copy/paste and hit Return:
defaults write com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.mouse MouseHorizontalScroll -bool NO
For this to take effect, turn your mouse off and then on again from the power switch
To reverse
defaults write com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.mouse MouseHorizontalScroll -bool YES

How To Create Gradient Horizontally, Top to Bottom

Within Illustrator CS4, I created a rectangle.
Is it possible to fill the rectangle using a gradient with the gradient occurring from the top of the rectangle towards the bottom edge, essentially having long strips of color from left to right within the rectangle?
It appears that the gradient tool fills in the rectangle using vertical bars, and I would like to have long horizontal strips.
Is there some way to rotate the fill so the gradient happens in the other direction?

look in your gradient panel - window -> gradient
That middle field with the 0 in it is the angle of your gradient. you want 90˚ or -90˚

I'd take a look at swinghelper's transformer, which allows you to rotate swing components. It is an experimental project, but still worth a look:

You could also override paint(), and tweak the transformation of the passed graphics. You would also have to override the get*size() methods, and translate the coordinates of the mouse events.
